I've been riding my Thruxton R for over six years with the fairing and love mine. After six years I decided to change the color to a candy apple red with gold leaf. The bike is deceptively quick and fast.

@@vicky9947 if its to expensive you have to figure out how to make more money. I joined the Army with $50 and a bag of clothes from old navy that my mom bought me. I didn't have anything. Didnt even know what credit was. I served almost 10 years i got out. I had no education only Army experience. I sold cars at a dealership for about 6 years. I have my wife 2 kids one on the way. I have a nice 2020 sierra and a 22 street triple rs. 5 dogs 3 cats bunch of exotic reptiles. And a 450k custom home and I came from nothing. Not even education. If money is the issue, u have to hustle, selling cars you can make 6 figures if u work hard. Selling furniture you can make good money, my buddy makes 6 figures @ Rooms to Go only working 40hrs a week. Right now im in the oilfield. Im a water treatment operator and i got in with no experience whatsoever 1.5 years in my first year i hit about 90k. You can truck drive, theres so much opportunity out there you cant sell yourself short. Im not a millionaire ive made tons of mistakes but every time i learn something from it and get right back up and keep grinding. Even if you have to get 2 jobs. You can do u just have to give it everything u got. Once u get a taste of what its like to make 100k a year or even double your income you'll automatically keep working harder.

Triumph is probably one of the best if you are looking for a beautiful retro style bike and if you are not after high speeds.
Bang for your buck list:
Royal Enfield Interceptors
kawasaki w800
Loads of older Hondas
Royal Enfield, Rest of classic style lineup
Loads of older Yamahas, especially the 750 triples
Moto Guzzi V7 and V9
A bunch of smaller companies' sister brand projects, e.g. BSA, Brixton, etc
Triumph is just the premium price and tends to have a tad more horsepower, yet all bikes in this list are not meant to go faster than highway speeds and come without a windshield, stock. :)
Hey Kevin, the Thruxston RS goes 0-60 in 3.6 seconds. That’s fast. I own one and it will achieve high speeds without any problem
@@benjamin.f.b. Ok you saved the buck but you forgot the bang...V9's, really? Enfields? Old multis? Think you missed the point. Fully adjustable 103hp with torque, 0-60 in 3•6, sport tyres and ABS.
@@AuxesisHyperbole666 we were talking Triumph in general. The original widowmaker H2 had no brakes and was a death trap, but it had crazy top speed and great acceleration, a decent finish and overall looked rather premium. This now thruxton RS is the modern day equivalent. It has 50-70% of what the top-end specced bikes have, e.g. a streetfighter v4s, with a classic styling. It is a formidable product, but much of what it offers is rarely usable, so the steep price is not exactly a bang for your buck kinda deal. I believe a little less specs and a fair bit less pricing would go a long way. A 650 triumph bonnie vor 7-9k would sell like hot pockets
Well finally a reviewer that calls inverted forks, inverted forks. Instead of, upsidedown forks.
One thing about Thruxton compared to t100, t120, street twin, etc. Is, it's done, out of the box. No mods needed. Well, maybe some different slip-ons. Personally I would rather have a 900 with same tuning.
My T 100 is a 2005. I have slip-on outbound slashed pipes, seat cowl, triumph barends round. Pulled airbox with individual pod filters. The older air cooled had lots of chrome. Which I look like. I put a fly screen shield on it. A headlite visor.
But, standard bars. No clipons. I look like it. Around 70 HP is plenty for me. I'm old.
The 1200 looks great though.

Only reason why I would get this bike over the speed twin is because of the adjustable suspension + you can get a aftermarket handlebar kit to get more upright on the bike 👌🏾
Just a better looking bike all round imo.
The tank is longer as well so you can't really get the same posture with just bars.
My dream bike, so pretty (even with that dirty chain). I'm working my way up to it with the street twin as my first and current bike.
I have this bike and love it. So much so, I sold my 2019 Royal Enfield Conti GT 650. Not sure why Triumph is no longer polishing the top clamp (lucky me). Please put a MeerKat CrossFlow X-Pipe and CONE Shorty Performer Mufflers on. No need to flash. The bike is perfect then.

Just got my 1200fe! Classic beautiful British understatement. British racing Green n Gold with fairing! With a few other adjustments. A piece of art on wheels 🇬🇧
It IS Gorgeous Bro. Will say that your black lacquer tank looks so much better than the optional chrome tank. Did not Triumph think about the possibility of reflective glare shooting into your eyes when you drive?? It only takes one moment of glare blindness and that could be it for you. Your bike is SO Awesome. Coming in second place would be the green. Great looking brushed steel tank belt. Just a Superb Retro Cafe Bike. Beautiful bike,the only thing I am am not keen on is the spot wielded seem that runs under the tank, bmw has lovely tig wielded joint that blends in so much nicer

Where is the Tail tidy from??? This tail-tidy is perfect for me cause it does not violate the road compliance without compromising too much on the aesthetics.
Triumph thruxton is a fountain of youth I'm 68 and it is a joy to ride and when you stop people circle it drooling.

I got to test ride a 2017 Thruxton R while waiting for service on my BMW S1000RR. It was a suprisingly fun and quick bike for being 90 HP less than the RR. I was a big fan from that day on!

i was so close to getting this because i wanted the ultimate cafe racer bike. But in the end i got the T120 instead because it was more practical allround due to the upright riding position and pillion use. However if i were to ride solo all the time, this is my first choice no doubt. i still want it down the road in the future.
My riding is so much more enjoyable since my wife quit riding!

Depends whether you like feet forward and arms high or feet back and arms low.
Beautiful bike, I’ve got a 2014 Thruxton 900. Could at times do with a bit more oomph so maybe I’ll upgrade to the 1200 in time. Looks awesome in the black.
My bike with fairing. And i have installed Power Commander into my bike. Worth it
I do not understand why they had to leave such a huge gap between the rear fender and the wheel. It ruins the aesthetics of the rear section entirely, in my subjective opinion. There is not enough rear shock travel to warrant such a gap. As soon as a pillion squishes the rear it starts looking heaps better, why are so many brands going with this...
Have they fixed the overly harsh suspension in the RS? My R was terrible.

I hv a doubt, did triump copied royal enfield continental 250 design of year 1960’s??
Same engine in Speed Twin 1200 is shockingly smooth, I expected vibration but no it's very smooth.
Given the Thruxton is a retro, the spoked wheels are definitely appropriate, however I think the cast aluminium Wheels of the Speed twin would give the Thruxton RS a significant handling and weight saving improvement.
I bought Speed Twin and 'm dreaming about spoked wheels :D
@@pallergarage Spoked wheels do look nice, my 96 Thunderbird had them, with the alloy rims a bit of work to keep them looking good but well worth the effort, they do add a bit of extra weight to the front end though.

The fake carb is for style, they look like Amal carbs from. The 60s. The 220 on the speedo is a bit overly optimistic.
I don't think those are fake carburetors. They've been designed to look as such, but likely throttle bodies or something functional.

I’ve got the Thruxton 900 which is the same platform and I’m 5ft9. My cousin who’s 5ft 6 got on it and said it was fine for him. He could flat foot on both sides. The thruxton is a great bike I’ve had mine for 5 years now.

my prefered triumph. I am with you with the fairing... it makes it even prettier, but to have it you really need to lower the clip-ons, so, as usually, going more cafe implies more commitment.
I had a Thruxton r and was able to fit the fairing with the normal height clipons without any problems. Great looks and decent ergo.
@@Afrofighter that is very good news... The racer package from triumph includes the lowered ones... I was under the assumption they were necessary....
@ no not necessary, just included as part of the racer package. The lower clipons look really nice but God they are uncomfortable.

What i willl change in this bike is Dashboard i like one watch rather than 2 and chain change on shaft 👌🏻 it have 5 or 6 gear? If 6 than change this tooo on 5 👍🏻 it have huge torq down low to its weight but not so much like for 1200 cc 112 i will change onto 125-130 nm 👌🏻you dont me film on tech specabput gearbox = gear quantity 🤮
Nah, for me R NINE T is the BEST looking retro bike. But yeah, you are right, R NINE T doesn't have fuel gauge. Hahaha.

At 6'2 doing 50 miles on this bike, your ass starts to hurt and your wrists begin to numb. Very fun bike for the city but terrible for a commute bike.

Like always the Thruxton is 20Hp lower then it needs to be in this day and age 🤦🏼. Decade after decade triumph has failed to get the HP right with these bikes.
