Oh, that's so sad.... I spoke with the owner in the morning at this day. He said, the plane was completely handcrafted /scratch built.... It was really hard work for him. I shot so many photos in the morning.... It was one of the most beautiful jets there. 😢😢😢😢😢😢
A properly built kit should not have overstressed and come apart like this one did. I've seen posts here that there was considerably flutter on the elevator on the flyby. This would indicate to me it was a scratch-build, not a kit. Hobbyists do use fiberglass and 3D prints to build their own models, so black smoke is not an indicator of a kit.
I think the canopy was the smallest cause of the crash. This maneuver was a very high load one to the airframe. You can see that the wing bent before the canopy goes. That means, the whole airframe was for sure deformed and caused the canopy to fly off. Would be interesting if the altitude was enough to finish this loop or whatever it was.
Absolutely, it was mechanical overstress. There are also no strong winds and which plane falls apart because of turbulences...?!? As you can see (smoke after crash) there was not too much wind.
the manufacturer of this F4 had problems with the canopy coming off in the past, this results in too much pressure in the fuselage which pushes the wings out of their locking mechanisms
Also the elevators had massive amount of flutter when it comes flying by left to right. Looking at the footage that canopy did not even come off and had not much to do with the crash the wings folded already before the part (probably the turbine hatch on top of the plane) flew off the plane.
Stab was fluttering the whole flyby. No wonder something eventually gave up. Canopy is just secondary... Wing spar detaching was the final nail on coffin
My opinion: this was more than loss of the canopy ...., the whole jet collapsed in the air , in 1.14 you see the canopy on its place when the left wing is already broken. shortly before a big part of the wing ist in the air.
Thoughts and prayers! Lol! i’ve seen this before where people take their $20,000 remote controlled airplanes and put them through extreme aerobatics as though they had money to burn!
I@Xplanker, it's been done! My son forgot to insert the wing tube in his Boomerang Elan. They have four small diameter alloy rods, two each side and a carbon wing tube and he totally forgot the tube. Luckily after one circuit he realised and quickly landed. The small diameter rods stopped the wings folding!
@@Xplanker possible and present during this meeting. There was a huge Short Sherpa (6m) without(!!!) wing tubes. He bolted very rigid strings on top and bottom taking the load like with most originals: th-cam.com/video/-Fnv27kB060/w-d-xo.html
I flew many rc back jets in the 90's, One Build I thought heck this wing spar is to tall in higth,so I cut it down. That was a bad doing on my end. This crash was created by the "wing spar"... Plain and simple.
Yes, you are right, at 0:51 frame by frame we can see that the stab is wiggly. I would never have seen it if you didn't had mention it. Greetings from France
One likely root cause could be, trying to build a light plane ended up with, structural deficiencies both in the elevators and wing spars, which under high g loads failed. I’ve seen many cases of self built RC scale planes, with a heavy flutter of the whole tail empennage because of the same poorly designed structural elements. There is famous video of a XXXL J39 Gripen in Brazilian colours, totally destroyed in flight because of weakly designed tail.🎉
Heavy handed stick banger. No sympathy. I know expensive. I used to be a turbine waiver CD. I saw crappy maneuvers, heavy handed and hard on airframe. Has no business flying turbine.

I don't belive that, you can buy these all day.
At least you got photos😢
@@AphexTwinIIyou don't buy RC jets. It's an investment with no return potential😅
@@AphexTwinIIThe dead give away that it "wasn't Scratch Built" is all the black smoke, that's from the fiberglass fuselage.

It looks like you exceeded structural limitations of plane-pulled too hard on high speed. Wing folded up.

Heartbreaking. Feel for the owner.
Looks like a stronger set of wing spars would have been beneficial.
Gorgeous model.
Looks like he was pulling a little bit too hard in the loop.
agree !!
The wing failed before the canopy fell off, probably from over g
Sound of it going down was sickening
The wing folding probably had more to do with the crash than the canopy coming off. LMFAO!
nothing funny at all about this mate - do you fly rc jets???? Or just watch’s vids of the crashes???

I was at the show but missed the flight. I saw both jets beeing prepared for flying and it`s so sad to see that beautiful plane end that way.
It wasn't any of those 2 big F4 you saw..
That was a spectacular piece of craftsmanship.
folded wing syndrome. exceeding the structural limit. sad very sad I love F-4 Phantom

A friend mentioned on site it could be to high gyro setting causing flutter, then causing an overreaction or weakening the structure.

Wings fold at 1:04, then the canopy flies off, not the other way around.
Haha maybe it was a simulated ejection.
What a horrible death. The poor pilot could not eject. Thoughts and prayers
White smoke: Was that a LiPo fire? It's sad to see such a beautiful model being destroyed!
Jet, fuel ... questions left?
@@dilbert0815They fly on kerosene or diesel actually. Do YOU have any questions left?
Probably a lipo for radio and control surfaces.
Got a LiFe receiver battery and lipo for ecu in my jets and run on jet A mixed with synthetic oil

Smokey The Bear is not happy about this. Only you can prevent forest fires!
In sequal . .. first outside wings clipped . . . than canopy release because of cracking fuselage . .. . If you ask me ..
Wings overload
Game over

In the pass before the loop you can see the tail has extreme vibrations as well.
My goodness... the rescue is quite late. How is the condition of a pilot ?
Ouch! Down to the waterline.
a nose low pull up (last half of split S) causes most g forces
Jets like that have to have very strong wing spars, otherwise don't do extreme Gs with them.

This is the result of foam models with a turbine :)
Sounds like he never let off the power on the downside of the immelman... and had lots of speed going into it!
Sorry for lost but it was fortunate it didnt crash in the.woods to have a real major fire
Toll. Alle Trümmer in Ruhe brennen lassen und gemütlich zum Löschen fahren. Dann muss man weniger Teile bergen. Sorry für meine Ironie.
Da waren ja hörbar noch andere Jets in der Luft, keine gute Idee, dann auf das Flugfeld zu fahren

Damn, Lewy got hit by a SAM. He's gone.
Der schöne Flieger von CARF 60.000 € ade. Sehr schade.
Keep pulling on the elevator... you can still save it! Never give up, never surrender
Isn't one of the leading causes of stalls exceeding caoa by yanking on the elevators?
OUCH! And just like that, a Year's worth of House Mortgage Payments.
Over confidence led to loss of situational awareness resulting in over stressing the airframe. In short… an expensive fubar.
@0:43 does this jet have a smoke system🤔 Fej jets 😂
You can see the stab fluttering on the last flyby
Lack of static ballanced elevators?
Over-G'd the airplane looks like...
Needed an extra drop of super glue.
It was a SAM that hit it.
I'm glad the authorities took control of the scene out of respect for the two fake pilots.

Ejection Sequence is: first the backseater than the frontseater. So it’s the WSO leaving the plane we see, not the pilot…
