Of all the impressive RC planes I've seen on YT, this is, hands down, by far THE most impressive plane ever. The way it hovers motionless is mind-blowing.
Wow!! Been flying RC since 1986 and this beyond anything I could have thought. Serious skill, patience and perseverance needed to accomplish this. Cannot wait to see transitions from hover to flight speed and then back again.. Wow!
this is the most impressive RC plane i have ever seen. I can't imagen the amount of work that went in this to get it that stable. My hats of to you sir.
I’m sorry that Will not happen with the bigger scale composite models of F-35B and budget, Cost too much lipo energy wich is not possible to use bigger lipos because of weight, and to expansive for turbine solution. In my budget only normal take off->> inbound transition to hover and vertical landing is possible.
I spent 3 years working on the F-35A/B/C back in 2003-2006. This model really captures the correct workings of all of the doors. BTW, it was a pain to make all this crap work IRL.
It’s very quick Joel! So impressed but we need a yellow tinge to the canopy ☺️ Looks so real now, felt like I was watching Ted Conningsby with the f35b’s he had landing there in England a few days ago with the F15ex’s. Great video mate 👍
Wonderful Joel, you be very proud...Awesome effort...And congratulations to Melanie for putting up with you for 11 years...LOL...Well done, both of you...
CONGRATS! Now I really want to see a transition flight! 💪 From VTO to hover to level flight, and from level flight to hover to landing. It's about time to serve us a full course instead of piece meals.
To see the full size is amazing but for you to make this in a Model form is even better and the hours to make everything work in miniature form is excellent well Done
Amazing that someone spent a lot of time & money to build a plane like this . After you fly it a few times its a shelf queen. Better have a big shelf .
Heel gaaf hoor! Wat een machtig schaalbeeld heeft die kist zeg! Nou de transition nog! Maar dat lijkt me een beetje sketchy. Lekker vliegen en je kist leren kennen. En het belangrijkste, meer video's!! 😁
That's a great work of craftsmanship and engineering!. I have a OMPHobby 'ZMO' which has tilting propellers. It transitions very smoothly from hover to forward flight. The transition the other way round is not so smooth but it manages it ok. How many crashes the people at OMPHobby had to deal with to get it to work i have no idea!
This would be a big seller in the model aircraft world if it were mass produced. Many enthusiasts are waiting to be able to purchase a VTOL EDF model at a reasonable price because the nearest model airfield with a hard surface runway is often too far away.
Brilliant aircraft, fantastic achievement. Just a pity about the frame rate of the video. Advice if you don't mind. Shoot, Edit and Render, all at the same frame rate. A beautiful aircraft though. Thank you for sharing it.
@@nickhayley why would you think I’m lying? Thousands of people worked on this project. I was an engineer and worked at China Lake Naval Weapons center and from 2004-2011 I was the Navy’s comm Nav engineer in the F35 program office. I went to Lockheed in Ft Worth a bunch of times since Lockheed was the prime contractor. Its was exceedingly frustrating because Lockheed had way too much power and that caused the schedule delays and budget overruns. So although I did mostly flight test I don’t feel like I contributed as much as I had before because of Lockheeds contract vehicle and the power they had to ignore the customer us the government. If you don’t know where it is google earth China Lake in Ridgecrest California. My son is an engineer there now. He was born there went to college at cal state and went back
@@jimsteinway695 Go team! The vertical hovering seems like it would burn a lot of fuel. My guess is that the engine speed is fairly high during maintenance of hover or taking off from ground. Is that fair to say?
@@monteaustin1006 I dont know the fuel burn mechanics. I was a Nav Comm engineer. But both this aircraft and the Marines Harrier aircraft (another program I worked on) would be similar but I know the Harrier injected water to increase the thrust during hover. They didn’t spend a great deal of time hovering except landing and leaving the LHA boats they are on . When you think about it, it is an engineering marvel to hover. But the maintenance on these B models is more than the A and C models because of the hover technology. It also can’t carry as much payload because if that but then again their mission is close air support just like the Harrier. So munitions don’t have to be huge because you’re dropping close to your own Marines. They’re the ones calling in the strikes. I was at Fallon once with some SEALs and they invited me to a training exercise where they called in some strike and strafing run to a target they were marking. Live small diameter bombs and it’s scary. I’d rather be in the laboratory

Everybody is waiting to see a transition now. It hovers beautifully and flys beautifully so the transition should not be such a risk anymore.
But I’m scared to crash it now, want to enjoy for the next month and than we go for it❤
Do it for the fans😂
Do it you scaredy cat 😂😂😂😂
@skeelo69 you are awesome!
@@Joelmelanie Could you somehow reduce risk by starting with tethered testing?

A very impressive achievement, congratulations on successful first flight.
I have never seen such an outstanding model. Beyond impressive. Outstanding work!
Everyone should applaud this young man. He worked his ass off since 2013. If he isn't a true example of dedication, I don't know what is.
Very impressive! I can understand the challenges involved but your persistence has paid off...well done Joel!

I like to see the vertical take off and the maneuver to horisontal flight.
Great job, congratulations

WOW! I never thought I would see that jet as a fully functional RC model.
It's not fully functional. It doesn't transition.
Well done. The USMC and Lockheed Martin should hire you for events.
Joël you’re doing our country proud! So cool to see this wonderful piece of engineering and hear Dutch conversation in the background! 😎☀️
Hahah you heard it!
Grats Joel, Lockheed should have you on their team! Beautiful a/c, and very smooth flights 👍
Spectacular craftsmanship!, i could only imagine the amount of hours that have been put into this masterpiece.

amazing build! you could sell this as a kit/plans and I'm sure people would buy it.
Excellent build. The transition is the last [and most difficult] part. Waiting with baited breath.
This is the best RC ever, please sell the plans or a kit.
This is a masterpiece.
Trully amazing. Outstanding quality! Please make more so I can add this to my hanger!
Unique Masterpiece in the World. Congrats from Venezuela. Go Ahead!
Wonderful Joel, you be very proud...Awesome effort...And congratulations to Melanie for putting up with you for 11 years...LOL...Well done, both of you...
Phantastic built. Congratulations. Do let you urged on regarding the transition. Do it in your own time.
Nice to see you off the concept table and actually in the air. Congrats on the hard work and diligent effort.

I personally don't like the F-35, but I absolutely admire the work you've done and love the results!
Hobbies like this are what living is all about! What an amazing project, ✌🏼❤🌍
Congrats, I remember first seeing your videos like 7 years ago and I know you have been working on it a lot longer than that!
Indeed! 2017 we had the first moulds, but is started in 2012
this is awesome, best of luck with the transition stage, cant wait to see you complete this!!
Wow! That´s it. This is absolut impressive.
I've watched so many of these... and this one is gorgeous. I've never seen one transition either to forward flight or from forward flight.
Amazing that someone spent a lot of time & money to build a plane like this . After you fly it a few times its a shelf queen. Better have a big shelf .
Fantastic model. The engineering and craftsmanship is top notch.
It's been a long road getting there , but wow ! Been a fan for some time , rooting for you. Take care.
You are the best, missed you
that is the coolest drone i have ever seen. that is an impressive engineering accomplishment!
Beautiful airplane, congratulations! Looking forward to seeing you master the transition from vertical to horizontal flight.
Congratulation! (...and the sunset, or is it sunrise, is excellent too.)
That's astonishing! Congrats, great work!
This could be the coolest model I've ever seen!
Wow, it's finally flying!!!
Dude, it’s beautiful. You did it!! Enjoy it go fly the heck out of it!!
you put in a lot of hard work. its shows. well done
Still loving your work, I’ve really enjoyed watching this project develop, congratulations!

Fantastic to finally see it fly after all this time! Great job man!!
amazing build, and nice flying. congrats!
Fantastic build!
Looks epic , when the full transition is perfected then i will print one
great build ! she flies flawlessly.
OMG dude, ive been watching this for so long, well done
Love this project
Nice work and flying, would love to see a turbine model one day. Wow, fast, quiet, and smooth
Super cool Joel, it's so nice and stable!
NO WAY FAR OUTtttt🎉🎉🎉 CONGRATULATIONS❤❤🎉🎉
I hope you revisit the harrier project. I would have thought a harrier would be simpler in so many ways but then . . . . maybe not!!!
Your F-35B has successfully to fly with VTOL
Noice! You should try and do some more balancing to try and maybe get rid of the fans out on the wing maybe!
Beautiful job, Melanie.

Much better than a real one. Bravo on the construction. No transitional capabilities ?
amazing performance !
I hope some movie makers hire you for some F35 scenes!
Amazing! Respect, good job! 👍

Sweet model, very nice!
Now here’s the next thing you need to do. Get an FPV camera on a gimbal get the head track and goggles and put the camera in the jet

One word. Masterpiece❤
Amazing work.. ❤ next project a flying transformer🙏🏼😂

Okay, that is real cool! But, what about your stand-off weapons? Do you destroy RC planes at other RC air shows? One thing at a time, I guess?
I’m very impressed
Does this happen to use an active flight computer? That could save you some headache with transitions
Ow yeah

Is the video jumping or is it just my TV?
Video stutters every second on my laptop. Poor.

Melanie....lol daar zat nog ik nog mee op school.......die was wel een makkelijke hoor........deed alles toen.
I purchased your F35-B files, but the retract landing gear seems to be discontinued. Do you have an alternative retract that can be used?
fantastic build. even the sound is 1/16

Respekt, good Job
Wonderful!
Impressive!
Awesome job, the plane looks and fly nice
I can’t wait to see this in full . Is there going to be a production model ? I would love to fpv this , wouldn’t need a runway!
