    Well Steve you have done it again, this is one excellent video for us beginners. The way you take your time to explain every little detail it is so much easier to understand. I will admit my head was smoking at first, but that’s why we can stop back up and start the video over again rite where my head started to simmer lol. Thank you so much for all the time you spend to help people like me get started in such a great hobby. I enjoy my Mavic but this fpv is going to be a blast I can already tell. Bye for now Paul from Louisiana.

    I don't fly FPV capt, but if I ever did. This is the TH-cam Channel I'm going to. I am subscribed to many top reviewers on RC drones, but I rate you as one of the most informative and fun to watch.

    I’ve watched a few beginner guides and this is one of the best in terms of simplicity and clarity. I’ve been racing competitvely in 1/10 Electric Touring cars for years (Dang! 20 years now) and I find this Quad/FPV setup intimidating..can’t imagine a person whom never dwelled into any RC hobby. Thanks Cap’n you’re doing a great service to the FPV community.

    I’m just getting back into the RC 25+ years after flying planes with a simple 4ch AM radio. I recently purchased a DJI Air 2, and as you know, it pretty much flies itself so I’ve been wanting to branch out to FPV. There’s so much out there and I was totally confused. Thanks putting this series together. You’ve done a fantastic job at breakdown things down. I am now equipped with enough knowledge to go out and spend my money intelligently.

    I just used this video to set up my second drone - Tiny Hawk Freestyle 2 - this was so helpful! My binding process was slightly different than described but easy to figure out since I had downloaded the manual for the drone. Thanks so much for this video! My next goal is to download more sounds, words for my radio and also to set up turtle mode!

    Thank you so much. That's the first guide on this subject that I've actually understood and thought, "I can do that". Everything else I've seen seems to assume you aren't completely "green" and have at least some basic knowkedge.

    Thank you. I spent all week reading how much of a pain frsky xm+ is hard to bind. After watching your video I switched on my rekon5 , jumper t-lite to Multi, FrSky X, D16 subtype, Ch1-16, then selected bind to begin searching for the xm+. Pressed down xm+ bind button, then connected battery. Voila 1st time successfully bound. Now I need to run through setting up everything else and connecting up to betaflight to verify. Top notch guide 🙌👌. Frsky seems to be getting bad press, as most youtube videos always seem to criticise FrSky 😧.

    • @CAPTAINDRONE798
      @CAPTAINDRONE798  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Glad it was helpful. Frsky gets bad press because the company didn’t like other companies copying their technology so what the did is they made some receivers that only work with Taranis radios causing users to get upset.

    Wonderful, absolutely spot on. I fly lots of RC but very little drone. So having just bought two cinewhoops I really needed to refresh myself on the basic set up. I have a Trashcan and a Mobula 7 that I learnt to fly on, which I haven't flown for a year. Originally I did use "Anothers' " you tube channel to set up the Trashcan/7 I wish I'd seen yours as it's so very simple plus I learnt a couple of things as well. FYI I got the HGRLC 132 as I liked your review and the Betafpv pavo 30. I couldn't get the 95x v3 as everywhere had sold out. Hopefully this one will do. Love your channel keep up the good work.

    Thanks for the great demo of the new Jumper T18 pro. I must have read it over now about 30 times and being old and stupid, I actually connected it to my old devo receiver, but only the switches on the transmitter moved the fins on my V tail flying eagle!! lol ..now I have to try and figure out how to make the sticks on the transmitter move the aircraft instead of the switches. I must be doing something wrong. Next thing you know I will have my new transmitter flying around the room instead of the flying eagle. Somewhere I remember the transmitter program asking if it was a v tail etc, but how to get back to that part is a work in progress. I was hoping this T18 would save me having dozens of transmitters laying around. Any help you can offer, or if you ever set up a simple aircraft, with that jumper, holler loud and clear so I don't miss your tutorial. lol Happy Flying

      You may have used the first 4 channels as switches. The first 4 are the joysticks & that is why in this walkthrough video we leave the first 4 channels alone and then start on the 5th one which becomes Aux #1.

For the arm/disarm in Betaflight, the minimum value is 1050. But my minimum on the throttle stick is 2056. Being that high the motors won’t start. I saw that you had your below 1050. Hi Steve. I received my Radiomaster TX16S today. I am in the process of setting it up at the moment and I am having trouble with the model images... Since most of the model images were of airplanes and the few drone ones were not the ones I was looking for (Mark 4, like you have shown in the video), I went and deleted all the model images that were initially on the SD card. Then I proceeded to add a resized image of a Mark 4 drone (I was a little too quick to delete the old images and forgot to write down the actual size, but I have found someone who said it was 192x114). I then copied the file to the SD card (Image folder), but I cannot find any image when I go back to the radio...
    I have tried changing file format (BMP, JPEG, PNG) changing resolution again (to a smaller 64x32 size which I have found on another website), but nothing does it... I have found a page on OpenTX's website with icons for Taranis model icons. I tried downloading one (64x32 size) and adding it to the image folder (it was a BMP file). Strangely enough, this one worked, but there weren't any Mark 4 images. But when I put the Mark 4 image (from GepRC's website), resizing it and converting it to whatever file format, it does not work...
    Do you have a link to a website where you got your image for your Mark 4 drone? Thank you for your help!

      I don't have my radios handy at the moment, but it was rather simple (you somehow have made life difficult for yourself). Plug radio into computer and select the option as an external drive. Go on the internet and find any picture you want and download it, then resize it and leave it as a JPG, then drag and drop it into the correct directory. As long as the picture is the correct size, it will display.

      I think I found my mistake! The filename was too long... I tried resizing the JPEG file to 192x114 pixels. I have both files on the SD card (long name and short name). I can only see the short name. Well, shame on me for putting too much info in the filename I guess ;-)

    Captain Drone.. I have just received my Mark 4 and have TX16S radio. I have bound the drone to the radio and for one thing, when it connects the radio does not say Telemetry detected, the next thing is that happens when I Arm the drone via the radio, the props will not settle down but keep running up to full throttle and even though I pull down on the throttle the motors keep running full speed. What do you think I can do to correct this. Again, I am a noob to FPV and am following your tutorials to the best of my ability. Thank you for any help or input. Cheers

    • @CAPTAINDRONE798
      @CAPTAINDRONE798  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Everything sounds like it works perfectly. People in the FPV hobby do not arm the motors and let the drone sit there because the drone props will throttle up due to computer in the drone thinking it is flying and trying to correct itself. My guess is you have flown those beginner camera drones like DJI or lower and you have plenty of misconceptions about drones. Erase away all your thoughts because the FPV world is very different.

    I have a question about registration for using FPV drones. Is it like camera drones where you just need to register it and you’re good. Or do you need to get a “pilot license”? And what other paper work do you need? (I know it’s different for every state)

    • @CAPTAINDRONE798
      @CAPTAINDRONE798  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on your country. In Canada it goes by weight, so PLANES, HELICOPTERS, DRONES all fall under the same rules and that is that if they are under 250 grams, you don't need to register them or new a flight certificate.

Like will I just have two arms, two beepers, two angles, etc,. One for each remote but just make sure one remote is off and one is active. Why two controllers? So I can use the tx16s for me and let my son use the TH2 stock around the house. Hope I explained myself correctly.

    Hi Steve. Can you explain what failsafe actually does please? How does it work if you lose your connection to the quad? On the DJI drones I have flown in the past I had a ( return to home ) when signal was lost but FPV is different. thanks

    • @CAPTAINDRONE798
      @CAPTAINDRONE798  6 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      FAILSAFE has been around since the dawn of time and it is in RC Cars/Trucks/Boats/Planes/Helicopters/Drones. Beginner GPS Camera drones (made by DJI, AUTEL, FIMI, ETC) all 100% use failsafe for when a pilot loses connection, battery gets low, etc. In the Beginner Drone Hobby it is called Return To Home. In the rest of the RC Hobby it is just called FAILSAFE. In simple terms you have your RC PRODUCT (Car, plane, drone, etc) and you connect to it with a RADIO. When that communication is interrupted for a specified amount of time, the RECEIVER in these products goes into FAILSAFE and defaults to whatever has been programmed. For an RC Car/Truck/Boat it means stop moving forward. For an RC Helicopter it can mean LAND. For an RC Plane it means set the Ailerons and Elevator to LEVEL and shut off the motor. For an FPV Drone it means either stop spinning the motors, or reduce power and land or if the FPV Drone has a GPS RESCUE, it means hand over controls to the GPS and fly in the direction of Home.
