Someone who interviewed the Sonnox developers said that the soften section of the plugin actually comes in before the compressor even though the controls are after.
Soften will not replace soothe 2 imo. That one is much more advanced and on a much wider frequency range. I don’t know about parallel next to this one. I’d say probably not, but you can always try and listen of it works for you.
I think the de-esser is proper. It's on the same level as other ones. I usually use two if it's extreme or go in manually. De-essing can only sound good to an extent without getting into lisping.
Depends, as per usual. If you feel you need some corrections in the audio, do it before. If you feel after Voca you need more highs, or lows, or need to cut some range, then after. Or both. Or none ;-)
You could almost put your own effects chain together with just the Melda free bundle. Not the same as a channel strip, but the Melda editing rabbit hole still pulls you in.
I'm guessing you are sponsored by Sonnox for this video, however if you had to give an unbiased review, would you really consider using this? I just don't see it being the "ultimate vocal compressor", let alone a plugin i would use every day.
you 're right man ! wait a little bit and it will be half of the price wich is i think the max people can spent right now for plugin who sgonna be not updated for most of them and all those little company who sgnonna deseppear in a few year !
Thanks! Love that saturation!

That sounds very useful for a quick vocal process.
Funny, I was drawn most to the feedback metering for the de-esser.
Yeah! I think that little display is awesome. Very dynamic EQ like.
Would you still do parrallel compression next to that, or the focus ion saturation takes care of it? And would soften repalce a soothe 2 for exemple?

Great video, as always. BTW... your link to PluginBoutique's offering is broken.
Ahhh thanks for mentioning! Fixed now.
0:35 What's name microphone?
It’s a Boya BY-BM6040
Name of the song?
Thank you brother!
You’re welcome!
Interesting... sounds good overall. Is the de-esser good enough? It's doesn't seem to catch all the sibilance.

No De essers are going to catch everything.
Clip gain is the solution to world class vocals
I’ve produced 26 number one songs
EQ before or after Voca?

So which compressor is first in the chain?
My guess is that there’s more of a parallel thing going on. The classic use case would be la2a into 1176.
I am awaiting Melda to come up with an audio strip just like their latest drum strip 😊
Who knows! I don’t :-)

Guess again.
