- What's up horror fiends and book lovers?
Today I'm so excited to share with you my May reading wrap up of 2024! As always, I read primarily horror and thriller books, so many of these books fall into those categories. I was able to get through six novels this month!
As always, my opinions are my own and just because I didn't like a book does not invalidate your opinions if you love it. I love discussing differing opinions on books, so feel free to chat with me in the comments below.

Superior Achievement in long fiction /Bram Stoker went to the book Linghun....so I am going to give it a try but appreciate your honest review
The atmosphere and concept in that novel are truly amazing! I just really struggled with the final third of the book. It felt like it came out of nowhere and was such a shift in tone. But the idea behind the book was awesome for sure and it's such quick read.
I love below by laurel Hightower but I felt like day of the door had clear plot holes and logic issues.
However I absolutely adored episode thirteen! I don’t feel like you’re really supposed to like or understand Claire tbh. At least that’s how I took it. Her character just felt super intentional to me.
Read Episode 13 this year. Enjoyed it , too.
I think my issue with Claire is how she moved from a solid supporting character to the lead. And I just never connected with her at all, so it was hard for me to digest the focus shift in the novel as a whole.
Loved Episode 13 last year.
I tried reading The Last House on Needless Street but for me it just was a strange book. I couldn't get into it.
Looking Glass Sound I think may be even stranger tbh. But I really enjoy that kind of "wth is going on?" writing style.
