I'm a new subscriber. I'm glad you used caution and didn't just let the little kid inside of you out..! I'm always fighting between my 14 yr. old brain and my 59 yr. old brain. I'm new to mountain biking (about a month now)... And my 14 yr. old brain has gotten me into a few scary situations (including crashes). Anyway, I appreciate your videos and your sharing of knowledge & experience. Keep the rubber on the dirt... Stay safe..!
Great video. I can't wait to try this new system out. Looks like another great trail from Pathfinder. I am thankful we have such a great local resource. I too am older, but this looks like a place where I can progress. My skills have increased a lot in the last few years, and this place may increase them more.
Have you taken any lessons yet? I am sure you could do this trail but you want to go practice some skills first. Like learn how to ride the pump track, pop up the front wheel, short manuals too. Cornering properly. I have a bunch of how to skills videos if you go to the playlist tab and select that section it will filter out all the other videos and just show the skills ones.
@@ShadLife I have not, but I ride with some guys that have helped me some. I think it would be good for me to do some lessons. I will check out some of your how to videos. I have watched a couple. But it's different watching and doing. I wiped out pretty bad at elm last week on a 3 foot drop. My foot came off my pedal as I went off the drop. Shook me up a bit, but I avoided any broken bones. I think wearing some padding may be a good idea when I want to try new jumps and drops until I get comfortable
Went and rode this yesterday and holy shit. The black jump line is gnarly...was having trouble clearing some of them. Going to have to go back and conquer it for sure.
Retired and 66 year old here. I've been riding a mix of road and mtb since 1987. I mainly ride cross country, if I go to the Pisgah forest, I'll do some tech, but the older I've gotten, it become few and far between. But I'm totally happy with what I ride. But there seems to be a division in the Charlotte area of NC. Those who freeride and cross country riders. I have nothing against the freeriders, but a good many of them believe all trails should have jumps and drop offs. Oh well, being on a fixed income, limits my ability to purchase all the armour involved. You should add where your from on your head page. I've been watching some of your videos for a couple of months, and had a hard time figuring where your from. Being originally from Michigan, I like the Midwest sand as opposed to the red clay down here😉
I never intended to keep the Norton frame. I got it to review it. It was part of a giva a way I did last year. My video about the Canyon Spectral 125 th-cam.com/video/ho-_bx1Nchc/w-d-xo.html
I dig your videos, man. Two wheels for life!
Great vid! Thanks for the great commentary. Stoked to ride this trail.
Great video Shad, thanks for posting! Just a couple miles from my house, can’t wait to ride it.

Love your videos Shad. Keep it up!
Trail looks way too advanced for me at this stage (been mtb for 1 year), but looks like a blast!

Man that black jump line looks so sick...now if the rain would just stop...

How do you like that Canyon? What happened to your Poseidon?

i feel like they could easily add some nice flow and jump lines in bryant lake around the disc golf course. lots of turtles though
Who is they?
where you on the east or west chunk of trail?
All of the trails on both sides.
