"Why do you love saint walker?" Hope. Hope is why. Saint walker, in terms of sheer will power and strength of heart, has got to be the strongest character in the D.C. Lantern mythology. His life before becoming a lantern, before starting his journey to become a lantern, was filled with so much strife and pain and hardship and yet he was so determined to keep going for his family. Then on his journey to become a lantern, his literal journey up a mountain was submerged in so much hard ship with the death of his children and the death of his wife and the fall of all the things that motivated him as a person and yet he still kept going at the behest of those who loved him, telling him to keep going to find this legendary messiah type character, and then even once he reached the top, even once he found the peak and found that the legendary messiah that he was looking for was nothing more than a reflective stone he did not quit. He did not just give up hope and kill himself and view his journey as a failure. Instead he accepted himself as what he was and held onto his hope and was granted a power battery as a result of that hope. Saint walker is, in terms of determination, one of the strongest characters to exist in the D.C. Lantern mythology.
My reason for liking Saint Walker is, basically, his attitude. He's kind of a "Get Knocked down 7 times, get up 8" thing. His view is that no matter how bleak things may seem, there is always a (Blue) light at the end of the tunnel. Things will turn out for the best and he believes this with every fiber of his being. In other words, as Walker's catchphrase said, "All Will Be Well...." and it, honestly inspires me. Makes me believe things will get better. On an unrelated note, I was thinking that the GL lore should have "Anti-Lantern" rings:Basically the like the rings we all know and love but with their colors inverted and representing the polar opposite emotion their Original Counterparts have To Wit; Anti-Red:Calm Anti-Orange:Charity Anti-Yellow:Bravery Anti-Green:Subservience Anti-Blue:Despair Anti-Indigo:Cruelty Anti-Sapphire: Hate Just a silly thought I had.
I love seeing all the 4 main GLs back together, Geoff managed to make them all seem like different interesting individuals despite having the same powers, I hope that the writers manage to make Jessica and Baz just as good, since those two have also interesting backgrounds and provide diversity on a way that respects old character's legacies.
I love St. Walker because when he says 'All will be well' you know he means it. You sometimes tell people that without really knowing what the future holds but St. Walker doesn't hesitate he knows All will be well. His hope and how every part of his character reflects that.
So, Rob. The reason why I love Saint Walker so much is honestly the reason why I like the idea of the Blue Lantern corp so much? They are sort of just a symbol of hope. With Saint being the most notable (In my opinion) of the Blue Lanterns to date he invokes that feeling of hope that some folks just don't get in their day to day life. Sometimes people just need that.
Exactly. He's mentioned things like DC not having reality warpers and replacing them with magic or the difference between their gods and cosmologys. I'd just love more depth.
I felt sorry for Kyle when he lost his White Lantern powers and became a Green again in a recent issue of HJatGLC: Rebirth. I mean, they presented it as something awesome but I thought, "Dude, you've been demoted. What's to be happy about?"
When his ring split into one of each individual color it's more of a celebration of the emotional spectrum than anything. Do wish he could become a white lantern again soon though!
Yeah I hope he becomes a White Lantern again soon, it was just more interesting frankly and there's a lot of stuff we still don't know about it. And I imagine he will some time in the future.
Tell me about it, especially when you see the original covers for hal jordan and the green lanterns it showed Kyle was to STILL remain a white lantern and it looked like he was going to revive some of the dead GL's like Bodika. Also the fact the ring split up into the six other colors doesn't make sense because his main green one evolved and channeled those emotions, he didn't merge six other rings together. I have to say that was insulting to make Kyle seem like he was lifted a burden of being a white lantern, the power is so underrated and it should be elevating him to a higher level as a hero in the DC universe.
This was a really good story, can't wait for the next one. The Larfleeze and Brainiac team up was cool and Abun sur's last words Find Hope (St Walker) or all is lost.
I like Saint Walker as a character because Blue Lanterns are essentially very similar to Green Lanterns in that they can manifest power from even the most dire situations, which make the most sense that Saint Walker would be the last Blue Lantern left since he never loses hope, making this next story that much more amazing.
Willam Webb Saint Walker's origin embodies the blue lantern core. From what I remember he was the last hope for his people's survival. He lost his family, but came out of it stronger.
Hands down my favorite when it comes to explaining comics. You know what I like about your videos ? For comic readers it feels like a fun conversation were having. For people who haven't read it... you're breaking it down into such clear notes anyone can catch up with. Always love your videos !
Personally, I like Saint Walker specifically because of what he represents. He isn't just "A Blue Lantern", he's THE Blue Lantern. He doesn't just inspire hope, he embodies it. When he gets involved in a Green Lantern story, it marks a move toward things getting better for the heroes. His return to the DC landscape signifies that DC Rebirth is going to have a much larger "return to familiarity" than just returning the characters to close to how they were before the New 52. I think it sort of represents that there are going to be more "hopeful" stories, the types of stories where the heroes can win without compromising their rules. Sure, there are still going to stories with Lobo and Killer Frost, and there are going to be angsty Batman stories, and Dark Trinity is still going to be a thing if people keep reading it, but introducing "hopeful" stories doesn't mean getting rid of the gritty stuff.
Well, you summed up my reaction to hearing Larfleeze being the man behind Brainiac in this story. I also like that the Sinestro Corps, no longer lead by their founder, join with the Green Lanterns. Hm... Personally, I don't know enough about Saint Walker, at least compared to Larfleeze, the guy that, had they emotions, would have frightened the Guardians, and it took the Blue Ring stuck on Hal (with a glorious bit of comedy gold as to how he gets it to work) to even the fight. He's my favorite because while he is a villain... he's both simple-minded and complicated, and is only "actively" malevolent to those that anger him. He's goofy at points, unstable, but he's long-lived, experienced, and to a degree (aside from his comical solo series) still an intelligent foe. But again, that's Larfleeze, MY favorite Lantern. I think Saint Walker... they like how genuinely mellow he is, I guess? I read comments down below being that, even in despairing circumstances he doesn't give up Hope. He wields it. His power literally is to help and keep others going when even the greatest of heroes could give into despair, into rage, into greed, or into fear.
To be fair my experience with Walker is from the cartoons. but I personally find his personality and approach to things to be refreshing and interesting. Hope isn't about force, and it isn't about displays of power. Hope is not weak, and it is not strong. Hope is persistent, constant gentle but hope is unrelenting. Hope is selfless and that makes him different than front line fighters. Walker is a Sage and a curiosity and his existence is just different, filling a void that you can't with a powerful construct. What I have seen of him is a hero I want to know. Not fueled by rage or fear or desperation or violent circumstances, but by something we all persistently need, Hope.
Saint Walker is just awesome, I think subconsciously a lot of GL fans like him so much because as we saw in the Geoff Johns run, Hope and Will are quite the combo, essentially Saint Walker represents the badassery of the Green Lanterns, with a Blue Lantern nearby a Green Lantern's power is nearly infinite and vice versa. I personally think the Blue Lanterns are the best creation to come out of that historic Johns run, they seem like they will play a huge role in Rebirth with the whole theme being Hope and all that so I am really excited about that.
wanna see more kayle rayner with white lantern learning his powers slowly. he should have his own comic really on his journey to relinquish his white powers again
MARTIAN MANHUNTER!!! Ya that would be awesome, but dc seems to have an issue with bringing the super powerful characters back(ei Shazam, Captain Atom, Firestorm, and MM.) Icon would be epic in rebirth as well.
Martian Manhunter, Kyle Rayner, & Wally West need to rejoin the Justice League. Get Barry Allen, Vic Stone, Simon Baz, and Jessica Cruz off the team. Barry needs to focus solely on protecting Central City and training Wally II, Vic needs to rejoin the Titans (preferably as a mentor), and Simon and Jessica need to go to Mogo to train and become better GL's.
I like saint walker because of what he represents. Being someone with severe anxiety and depression, when i dont have the will to go on sometimes hope is the only thing i have left. Love your work man.
Saint Walker represents Hope. Hope against all odds. Hope despite all suffering. Hope even in the face of utter defeat. If there were ever an emotion that encapsulated humanity, I think it would be hope. At least, that's why I love Saint Walker.
Rob, your videos help me to not go broke. I can only buy so many comics every couple of weeks, so these discussions let me follow stories that I either can't commit money to, or ones that I missed entirely.
I love Saint Walker because he is the quintessential Blue Lantern, and because of what Blue Lanterns do to Green Lanterns, basically making them EVEN MORE bad ass....
Saint walker is so amazing because of what he represents and stands for, him yelling "all will be well" as he arives to the battlefield makes me feel like everything will be ok and i just love that, i love him and the whole blue lantern core tbh
Saintwalker is incredibility forgiving, patient, and humble. I loved the scene in Blackest Night when he was consoling Atrocitus over his lost. Or after Blackest Knight, when they were reburied the dead. Flash dug over 200 graves in under a min, but Saitnwalker took the time to say a prayer and ask forgiveness for every last person who that needed to be reburied. (the panal made it seem that he would be there all day.)
Hey Rob, I love your videos, thank you so much for all the reading and hard work you put in to make them. When I hear you speak on the afterlife it seems like you're not a believer. You seem like a very intelligent man, and I know you must enjoy reading. If you ever so happen to read this please get into a bible, read it and see if it starts to make a lot of sense to you. I truly think it would help you more than you could know. I know reading the bible has completely changed my life. I'm sure it would do the same for you as well. Thank you for your time. God bless you bro.
I love Saint Walker because of his ability to keep cool, calm, and collected and in turn, hopeful, in most situations. Because he and the Blue Lantern Corps emphasize hope, it's like everytime you see them appear, you feel relaxed, as if everything is going to be all right. "All will be well" is pretty reassuring. These are also reasons the Blue Lantern Corps are my favorite Corps.
Saint Walker has a great backstory filled with loss, gain, dispair, and hope. His powers are pretty sweet as well and personally, im a big fan of his calm yet cool demeanor.
Shame that you didn't mention the New 52 Lobo in Larfleeze's collection. "We need to open as many of these jars to distract Larfleeze!" "Yeah, not this one though. No one liked him. And we will never mention him again since everyone loves the beefy biker dude." As for the reason why people love Saint Walker? Spoilers, Rob! You'll just have to keep reading the Johns GL books.
Saint Walker is a character that is literally the embodiment of Hope in the DC universe. Saint Walker always hold a positive attitude which shows in almost every page he is on. Walker's ring is also great in his own right to show that faith grows when others join him. Walker also shows a spiritual side which not a lot of mainstream characters do so it is really refreshing to have that. Saint Walker with the GL Corp is one of the best things coming out of DC Rebirth.
sainy walker is good because of how chill and relaxed he is, and his character represents hope and redemtion in a way because in his backstory he faced alot of tragedy having all of his family die, but instead of being depressed he chooses to be optimistic and has hope that life will get better.
Well I love saint walker because he plays on the whole 'monk' aspect for me. In every game since I can first remember, I always loved 'monks' or the idea of 'monks'. The pacifist that when forced into action, they KICK ass but never kill. I always loved the idea of just the whole 'cool monk' perspective. Now put THAT in with the idea of a ring lantern based all around 'hope'. Then you get saint walker. Hope. No matter where you go. No matter which comic you read. No matter what movie you watch. Hope is a universal term that carries weight behind it. Yea there is will power, Yea, there is FEAR, and of course there is anger. But when people mention hope, it's a mood changer. It's something that raises spirits, something that can't physically grasp but can DEFINITELY be felt. Although I'm not NEARLY as good as explaining things in such an epic ass way as you are, specifically because my english isn't just on that level quite yet. I will say hope is just such an amazing idea, an amazing belief that stands the test of time. DC, Marvel, etc. Just in general life. You have HOPE for when things are bad. You don't give up HOPE. Instead, you continue to hope in the worse of situations that things will get better. With WILL power you can continue on and keep on fighting! With hope and will power, anything is possible! So a lantern corps based purely around hope. Is one of the most BADASS things I can ever dream of! I know that doesn't really explain why specifically I like saint walker more than the rest of the blue lanterns but, he's the most 'monk' like of them all and just like hal jordan, he's given more 'facial' time than the other lanterns. So that's why I like him more. i got to see more of him. I like his always calm attitude. His monk-like stature. His very corps. Hell even his name and looks just screams "serenity" and "Peace be with you brother~". Saint Walker. Hell, red is my favorite color in general things but seeing him always makes me want to wear a blue lantern ring RIGHT there! If I was given a choice to choose between all the lanterns. Even white and black, I'd probably choose blue. Although I'd definitely take some time in choosing between red, green, and blue...I think blue would win over all because I feel like it's the most 'monk' like corps. I feel like green is more like 'warrior'. Yellow is "DPS". Red "Tank dps" And blue is "support monk". Anyways, that's my reasoning on why I like saint walker so much. Although it isn't really much to go on. It's what I have. The journey that he went on to BECOME a blue lantern was freaking brutal man...Like...Painstakingly brutal..losing all of his loved ones. But no matter what...he held on to hope.
hope is one of thoses rare emotions that speaks to the reader. we dont battle monsters on the regular or speak to reality warping creatures once a week. what we do experience is hardship and tough times. hope gets us through that. Whether it be from comics or other places, saint walker embodies the one emotion i believe can over come anything. all will be well. it really will be.
I think people enjoy Saintwalker so much because he's admirable and inspirational. He has hope in everything and everyone. It digs so deep that he has hope IN HOPE
Saint Walker always hold true to his mantra "All Will be Well". He doesn't have many aggressive powers but always plays a pivotal role in the major battles. Great personality essentially
Beaniac is the collector. I missed that part of his lore. I know that kryptonite's were shrank and bottled but I didn't know Ultron was all over bottling things.
I like saint walker for what he stands for because it truly resonates with me. No matter how hard life is "all well be fine". You got keep pushing forward. Plus he is a chill dude.
due to what his ring stands for and all he lost what makes him so great is that he endures and holds onto hope even when everyone else loses it and his design is awesome. he's a relaxing character
He's awsome. Saintwalker is powerful, because he is hope and their power will boost any lantern core. Hope is one of the main laws of the universe. It brings us in a good state of live.
Holy Hell man. Your videos are incredible. I just found you last night and I've watched nothing but your channel since. Thank you! Can't wait to watch all of your stuff so I'm current with newer uploads.
I met Venditti and he was really cool. He dropped by a comic shop one day and was down to talk and sign books. One of my favorite creators. I am much more likely to read a creator's work if they are cool in person.
Saint Walker is your cool cousin who's always taking a laidback aproach to life, and still he is getting things done. He is the embodiement of hope. Someone who says "Life is hard, but everything is gonna be alright", and mora than say that, he shows that.
Saint Walker is a space monk that spreads hope and wisdom, and can rally the troops without raising his voice, or getting violent. He's the opposite of the might for right aspect, rather than right=might. Plus he's just a chill dude, how can you not love this guy?!?
Personally I love Saint Walker because no matter what is happening either on a global/universal stage or to himself he is always just chill. He never seems worried as he is Hope personified. When in a battle scenario regardless of its scale he just bounces around narrating the futility of trying to defeat him as Hope will always survive just like Saint Walker. Also he is Awesome 😆😆
My biggest reason for loving Saint Walker is, he embodies hope. the almost unwavering belief that the future will be better. but more importantly how that hope works with Will. When will is with hope it gives hope the power to make that future better. the main ability of the blue ring is to heal, and is primarily defensive. As the great Saint bro'dee Walker says "All will be well."
I like Saint Walker because when the shit hits the fan, when all hope is lost, he still believes they can win in the end. I remember one issue in particular where the home world of the Blue Lanterns was attacked and he was front in center in the fight. Even though their power rings can't really do to much by itself in combat he fought hard to win. I respect that.
I think Saint Walker is cool for several reasons. !. The concept of the blue lanterns is awesome. They represent hope, are an answer to the red lanterns, and when partnered with a green lantern it is amazing!. 2. He is such a unique character personality wise. I like him because he doesn't have another character that is similar to him in DC in that manner. 3 blue is a great color and he looks really cool. 4 - it's kinda like larfaleeze in that Saint Walker has been a part of some amazing stories and adventures with each of the big 4 GLs so his presence brings that aura of something great is going to happen.
St. Walker is awesome because he has one of the best origin stories and he's like a hal jordan level type of blue lantern , a natural hopefulness lol ! dope video !
Rob not only show knowledge but the same passion we as Green Lantern fans have. 👏🏼 Why Saint Walker is so cool? Well he is what Hal refused to be and holds the Blue Lantern light strong, remember he lost everything and still held to hope when others shattered! For that reason alone he is one of the coolest characters that came from Geoff Johns run
I like Saint Walker because he's NOT dark and gritty. He was fun and light hearted. He also brought optimism back to comics. Saint Walker made comics fun again.
Saint walker is amazing because of his tragic origin and how he overcame all that suffering and loss while continuing to be the single best blue lantern.
I know for me it is because despite his countless losses that never seem to end he keeps going. Not because of duty or revenge or even pride but because he has hope that things can be better or will get better. That no matter how dark it gets his example of seeing what others refuse to see gives them hope. Not a naive kind of hope either but the kind that is more akin to a warm blanket. It might not be tomorrow or the next day but it will happen. He is that friend that when you got wronged by a good friend and were sitting on a step outside where you used to live in the rain. While wondering what to do because of the loss of a friend in betrayal, the lack of money to move forward, a vehicle to pack, and for the night. He hears about it and just shows up. He shows up and sits next to you and just sits letting you know he is there before you cry a little. Then instead of hugging you or injuring your pride he just says lets get a pizza. So you do and then end up back at your place last night eating pizza and without a word he starts packing your stuff up. All into his car and house letting you stay the night and use his shower despite the fact he has so little himself. Saint Walker is that guy that gives without question and gives you a glimmer of hope. That maybe you can get back into the game.
Saint walker is amazing because he can supercharge green lanterns, he can bring dying stars back to life and he really inspires hope in all the hero's around him.
hey Rob I'm a huge fan so I'm wondering if maybe u could do a video on how to kill Dr.Strange or maybe how to kill Apocalypse cause I think this would be awesome
Matthew Hansen He has done a how to kill Dr. Strange video... if you look through the playlist for how to un-dead super heroes it's second from the bottom
Saint Walker is like if the Dali Lama and Yoda had a baby. This is why Saint Walker is one of the best characters in GL mythos. When you see him, you know some existential knowledge is about to pop up and give you hope. Not just in the story line and not just in the DC universe, but (real talk) some amazing real life knowledge that you take with you when you close the book and put it back into its bag an board
Saint Walker is the first character to manifest and harness the power if hope! That is the most positive of the lantern powers and he has the character and wisdom to wield it. Plus he is a reminder of what superheroes should be. Hopeful, honest, courageous, and fearless.
Saint Walker is hope, and I feel like there's an ingrained desire in people for hope. I think this is the same reason people enjoy Superman as well as underdog stories.
I like Saint Walker because he embodies hope in the face of certain doom as in the Animated series whee he helped Kilawag against the Red Lantern Corp. That tear jerker moment forever etched that feeling in my mind forever.
Willpower is good for enduring a crisis, but hope is what gives you the strength to soldier on. St. Walker is the underlying strength of the Green Lanterns. He reminds people to believe there is a better universe to fight for. He was amazing in the Green Lantern cartoon.
We love Saint Walker because he is graceful, a pacifist yet he is not afraid to kick some ass, his design is cool, his ring is cool, and he is so hopefully. He is so forgiving it is sweet, and he is powerful. Saint Walker name is also icing in the cake.
Bro'Dee Walker is an analog for the buddha; his calm, modest articulation of language and body movements is proof that all will be well in time. Who he is is enough to show that even when we are about to die, everything is fine because the balance of nature is what matters deep down. That is not a bad thing nor a good thing; it just is and it is beautiful. Before Walker had a blue lantern ring in Green Lantern: The Animated Series, Razor the red lantern was attempting to land punches on him. Walker dodged all of these attacks, made Razor look like a futilely angry fool, and then just gave a good tap to a pressure point on Razor's shoulder causing Razor's entire body from the shoulders down to collapse to the ground! If that is not a morally humbling figure to admire, then I don't know what is!
I love saint walker because of everything he's been through he lost his father, wife and two kids and still had hope most people would lose hope and fall into depression and sadness but he pushed through it all to continue searching what he was looking for which was a book or plant (can't remember) and he lives on knowing that his family died because of him, because he decided to go searching for what he was searching for. and after everything he's still one of the most hopeful people in the universe
I personally like Saint Walker because his character speaks to my own philosophy: "All will be well." People today have so much fear, so much anxiety and they're all over the place, but I myself am productive and calm because as long as you are giving it your all, all WILL be well. You don't have a lot of Zen-type characters in comics that are just chill and give people the idea that things will be fine. He's that guy and I love seeing him in the Green Lantern books because when all seems lost and things are at their worst, Saint Walker shows up and all will be well.
I like Saint Walker because he is kind of like embodiment of Zen. His super charging of Green Lanterns is also pretty awesome but overall his character is so calm and chill in every situation it's fun to see.
Well Rob, I can't speak for everybody else, but I just like Saint Walker mostly because of how laid back his character is, since the Blue Lanterns get their power from hope, without having to say it, he's got the I got this persona. Also I like the fact the Blue Lanterns get their power from Hope since that's something the world badly needs & I think it's a cool idea real or not. I hipe that helps, keep making the great videos.
Saint Walker is a really cool character to me because of his concept. He's the ambassador for Hope in the universe, and his main power is to heal, and give people peace. He's a man who, despite watching his entire family die one by one was still hopeful and kept the mindset of "no matter what happens, I will keep my faith. *All will be well*" and that is something I think everyone wish they had the chops to do. This character was able to reverse the process of a sun dying, saving en entire planet just by saying *"All will be well"* ... do you know how much power that is? He's able to heal on a massive scale, even healing Arkillo and giving his tongue back
Just guessing, I'd say the cartoon network computer animated show on the Green Lantern is probably the reason Saint Walker is so popular... That's where I was introduced to him, if my memory serves me. He's got such a cool, traumatic & epic origin story!!! Hope springs eternal. I'm not sure how the CN Show's version of Saint Walker's story compares with the DC Comics counterpart but... Saint Walker is just such a quintessentially GOOD character... His morals, his natural born leadership skills, his faith & pias character. He's a hero in every since of the word. HOPE, is a great emotion in general & the color BLUE is a cool color!!! 😎💙💙💙 Plus, the nature of how blue lantern rings work; the ability to enhance the power of green lantern rings' contracts is awesome 😎 And having the weakness of Blue Lanterns not being all that spectacular when not in presence of a green lantern is neat to boot. Saint Walker's "alien" physiology looks cool too. He's physically scrawny/shrimpy but that doesn't stop him from being great! People probably relate to that. I do! Saint Walker is relatable, I guess I'm saying... ...and that's all I have to say about that.
St Walker is order in all the chaos. Liken to a shao lin master. Plus the fact that he can boost green power is awesome. Its like he can enlighten you from the darkness of your own self-doubting stupidity.
Saint walker never gives up hope no matter how bad or tough the situation and I find that great not to mention when he shows up the green lanterns get a boost n usually gonna be a great fight
Lantern mythology.
shadowsofsaddness I was going to say the EXACT somethings you said, his unflinching hope and belief in the face of any hardship is kind of Inspiring.
"All will be well" That's it you don't have to say anything besides that.
Amen
Couldn't have said ti better myself!
PREACH
My reason for liking Saint Walker is, basically, his attitude. He's kind of a "Get Knocked down 7 times, get up 8" thing. His view is that no matter how bleak things may seem, there is always a (Blue) light at the end of the tunnel. Things will turn out for the best and he believes this with every fiber of his being. In other words, as Walker's catchphrase said, "All Will Be Well...." and it, honestly inspires me. Makes me believe things will get better.
On an unrelated note, I was thinking that the GL lore should have "Anti-Lantern" rings:Basically the like the rings we all know and love but with their colors inverted and representing the polar opposite emotion their Original Counterparts have
To Wit;
Anti-Red:Calm
Anti-Orange:Charity
Anti-Yellow:Bravery
Anti-Green:Subservience
Anti-Blue:Despair
Anti-Indigo:Cruelty
Anti-Sapphire: Hate
Just a silly thought I had.
maybe these rings coulb e the ones on earth 3 opposite of all these lantern rings
We like Saint Walker because he's awesome.
And What Rob said:
,,John Stewart, The Greatest Leader."
Well.........Atrocitus...🤔
Yes we do
I love seeing all the 4 main GLs back together, Geoff managed to make them all seem like different interesting individuals despite having the same powers, I hope that the writers manage to make Jessica and Baz just as good, since those two have also interesting backgrounds and provide diversity on a way that respects old character's legacies.
Dacota how have you gotten no replys to that great explanations
Great comment
Have you ever considered doing a video on the difference between marvel and dc style of storytelling and their ideology of character creation?
Also, you do great work. You singlehandedly convinced me to stop hating Superman. Keep up the awesome sir.
now this is a really dope concept that rob touches on so briefly but i'd love to see it explored
Exactly. He's mentioned things like DC not having reality warpers and replacing them with magic or the difference between their gods and cosmologys. I'd just love more depth.
Jason Shura Hands down-the best question I've ever seen in the comments section. I really hope Rob dedicates a video to this.
Yo I think that's an actual original idea that no youtuber has done.
I felt sorry for Kyle when he lost his White Lantern powers and became a Green again in a recent issue of HJatGLC: Rebirth. I mean, they presented it as something awesome but I thought, "Dude, you've been demoted. What's to be happy about?"
DoomRulz I know I was pretty angry at that he hasn't even been a white lantern for 10 years I hope he gets it back soon somehow?
IKR! Kyle Rayner is an artist and his tapestry is life itself!
Saintwalker is hope! Saintwalker is the embodiment of what you hope the best thing coming out of DC rebirth to be!
I like Saint Walker as a character because Blue Lanterns are essentially very similar to Green Lanterns in that they can manifest power from even the most dire situations, which make the most sense that Saint Walker would be the last Blue Lantern left since he never loses hope, making this next story that much more amazing.
Saint Walker = Chill ass Space Buddha
Willam Webb Best description.
Willam Webb lol
Willam Webb thats because he burns lbs of the stickiest of the icky. Hence why he's in space.
He reminds me of Kit Fisto.
Willam Webb Saint Walker's origin embodies the blue lantern core. From what I remember he was the last hope for his people's survival. He lost his family, but came out of it stronger.
So the seagulls from finding nemo would be orange lanterns.
I like Saint walker Because he's blue
His power literally is to help and keep others going when even the greatest of heroes could give into despair, into rage, into greed, or into fear.
man...I love your videos and I love your enthusiasm when you speak of these things.
Up until your videos, I didn't even know there were other lanterns other than green. Knowing this makes the lanterns' sorry lines even better!
Who else wants to see Kyle Rayner and Martian Manhunter on the current Justice League team?
I want to see more of Kyle Rayner as a White / Green Lantern in his own story! Unlikely but it'd be incredible.
wanna see more kayle rayner with white lantern learning his powers slowly. he should have his own comic really on his journey to relinquish his white powers again
Barry needs to focus solely on protecting Central City and training Wally II, Vic needs to rejoin the Titans (preferably as a mentor), and Simon and Jessica need to go to Mogo to train and become better GL's.
that would be bad ass
Hey Rob,
I love your videos, thank you so much for all the reading and hard work you put in to make them.
Because St. Walker is such a helpful and likable character whenever he's around.
And we will never mention him again since everyone loves the beefy biker dude."
As for the reason why people love Saint Walker? Spoilers, Rob! You'll just have to keep reading the Johns GL books.
Dunno, i liked the new guy. It was an interesting idea, certainly. Wish he was a bit less edgy though.
DJKennedy90 To be honest I'm glad. New 52 Lobo was an abomination
I dont know why I stopped liking comics but your channel has definitely brought back into comics
"the Guardians almost utterly obliterated with the exception of Ganthet"
how often did this happen by now? 7 times?
sainy walker is good because of how chill and relaxed he is, and his character represents hope and redemtion in a way because in his backstory he faced alot of tragedy having all of his family die, but instead of being depressed he chooses to be optimistic and has hope that life will get better.
Nice, Green Lantern is my favorite DC Character. This video almost made me cry
Seems starro is being used a lot lately for being a old school villain. He was used in the Asian Superman story too.
GRIMDEATH GRIFFIN he's being used now in DC universe online now
I don't understand why he isn't in injustice 2 like basically everyone has been used
i love saint walker because of how positive he always is and how he words his sentences
Haha not hiding any videos from me rob 😬
Saint Walker is a really chill guy that understands the importance of meekness and also unity
hope is one of thoses rare emotions that speaks to the reader. we dont battle monsters on the regular or speak to reality warping creatures once a week. what we do experience is hardship and tough times. hope gets us through that.
Most people love saint walker from green lantern the animated series
Razor just could not get to him. Did he? :)
He brings great peace and calm. Like the weedman
due to what his ring stands for and all he lost what makes him so great is that he endures and holds onto hope even when everyone else loses it and his design is awesome. he's a relaxing character
He's awsome. Saintwalker is powerful, because he is hope and their power will boost any lantern core. Hope is one of the main laws of the universe. It brings us in a good state of live.
I love the idea of Brainiac wielding an orange lantern ring. That needs to be done.
Holy Hell man. Your videos are incredible. I just found you last night and I've watched nothing but your channel since. Thank you! Can't wait to watch all of your stuff so I'm current with newer uploads.
I love Saint Walker because he is the kind of guy who willingly plays the support class, not all Heros wear capes
Everything about saint walker is amzing he was designed to simply be awesome and intriguing
I love st walker because of his interactions with the gl, he always is this kind presence in a comic full of violence.
Rob not only show knowledge but the same passion we as Green Lantern fans have. 👏🏼
Why Saint Walker is so cool? Well he is what Hal refused to be and holds the Blue Lantern light strong, remember he lost everything and still held to hope when others shattered! For that reason alone he is one of the coolest characters that came from Geoff Johns run
I like Saint Walker because he's NOT dark and gritty. He was fun and light hearted. He also brought optimism back to comics. Saint Walker made comics fun again.
Saint walker is amazing because of his tragic origin and how he overcame all that suffering and loss while continuing to be the single best blue lantern.
Saint Walker is the most calmest guy in the Green Lantern universe that's a nice change of pace
the fuck? how did y'all comment yesterday?
Yeah like he did with his batman beyond video this is becoming a common occurrence.
This is hilarious lmao
Saint Walker is just too chill and dope.
Saint Walker is just like that chill surfer dude who loves life and loves you.
Matthew Hansen hell ya
Matthew Hansen He has done a how to kill Dr. Strange video... if you look through the playlist for how to un-dead super heroes it's second from the bottom
no do spectre
Matthew Hansen, Hitler's gun(Strange) and adamantium(Apocalypse).
How to Un-alive Squirrel Girl.
St. Walker has humility and gives hope and had a conviction and confidence even when others are ready to give up. H
we love saint walker because he can make every lantern more powerful from just a finger
I love Saint Walker's origin story. I cried the first time I read it. Anything that makes me feel that much emotion has to be amazing.
Rob casually dropping that he gets to hang with the MVPs
There are people out there who love playing a support role, and Saint Walker is the ultimate support
He's able to heal on a massive scale, even healing Arkillo and giving his tongue back
THIS CHANNEL IS VERY INFORMATIVE! THANK YOU!!
I personally like the backstory of St. Walker, and he represent something so pure, and something our world lacks and sorely needs. Hope.
😎💙💙💙
Plus, the nature of how blue lantern rings work; the ability to enhance the power of green lantern rings' contracts is awesome 😎
And having the weakness of Blue Lanterns not being all that spectacular when not in presence of a green lantern is neat to boot.
Its like he can enlighten you from the darkness of your own self-doubting stupidity.
because he is cool , he is the only lantern that is chillin like a boss .. looks very calm ... the colour is very good too ..
Saint Walker? HOPE... "...all will be well..." 😎
Saint walker never gives up hope no matter how bad or tough the situation and I find that great not to mention when he shows up the green lanterns get a boost n usually gonna be a great fight
That is cool that larflees and beaniac paired up. Good job on that one
