Hey Cindy, love your channel! Just wanted to share, my daughter works part-time at an Italian Restaurant/pizzeria and she makes really good money while being a fulltime college student. She averages $1300 a month working 3 days a week. Don't underestimate working as a waitress, if you give good service you can make a decent living especially as a student in college.
I have to comment this, my girl is smart and articulate no wonder u pushed law studies Ur videos are in depth. In depth. Love from the philippines Definitely subscribing
When I worked at JCrew 10 years ago I believe I made something like 8.50 an hour plus commission. Those commissions were everything. Those commissions would add on an extra $200-500 per paycheck.
LOL, "not as pushy" -- no kidding, you have to practically trip them to get them to look at you, much less sell you something. It's like they think they're Hermes expecting me to beg them to sell me a bag. And they never actually talk to me about the product, they're just give it to me to try on and wait silently. So awkward. I wish they were a little more invested in their job. What's interesting is the bonus structure you explained is the same as at Sephora, which is also an LVMH company.
This is exactly how they are! I went in the store to look at the neverfull pm and the that triple pouch bag. That SA handed me both bags and stood there “SILENTLY”!!! Quiet as a mouse and just looked as I looked at the bags. Not a peep. I handed her the bags back and left.
Maybe they get that all day !? people who don't have money to spend and are just asking to kill time longing for that precious luxury item that they can't afford !?
I love that you never pushed the costumers to buy something they didn't want. Some people are purchasing an expensive item for the first time and it should be something they love.
Helping clients purchase their first LV was always so much fun 🤗 Even though we didn’t earn commission, we always want customers to love what purchased! Thanks so much for watching 🥰
Is LV non-commission everywhere? Because a couple of people and even employees themselves have said they they were commission but they were also very lenient with people at their stores
💯 love my LV SA - she tells me honestly when something is not right for me or if the quality is off. Everyone should have an SA like this, and avoid all the rude pushy sales people.
Ugh the last time I went to LV the sales girl didn’t think I could afford it and didn’t take me serious when I was browsing and asking questions. Finally after I begged her to pull the bandouliere bag, and said I want it and was gonna pay cash -_- she was nice to me
When I was in France 10 years ago at the LV store in Paris they limit your purchase to one bag per person due to the demand and they take your information and input into the computer so it can be accessed throughout France. So when I purchased my husband's wallet in Paris, and when I was in Cannes and able to buy the bag that I wanted which was the Artsy I could not believe I only paid less than $1,000! I used it for a couple of years and I decided to sell it to my friend for $900, I did not know the price here in the US was double!! I regret selling it cause I could have kept it for my daughter instead. In my experience I find LV employees were never pushy here in the US or other countries, I find them very accomodating and also knowledgeable. I tend to buy my purses in Europe and Canada cause the price is less than here in the US. In France, you can take advantage of the tax refund when you leave the country. But I also shop locally especially now during the Pandemic. I am a new subscriber and love your vlogs, I just loved the way you speak, btw I am Filipina myself and lived here in Cali for almost 40 years. Looking forward to more informative vlogs.
Yes indeed! European luxury brands if they sell it outside of Europe it can cost 20-30% more. Reasons why tourists love to shop here because they can take advantage of the tax refund starting from 12% to 20% depends on how much have you spend for your item. Come back soon once this pandemic ends ❤️
Indeed a lot cheaper in Paris or Europe (EU) as a whole as I learned the prices are standard in the EU. Was there in March 2020 at Champs-Elysees store and got me a backpack worth US$1800 but retailing US$2300 in the US. In Barcelona, got the wife a handbag for about US$2000 and retailing at least US$2500. And then got the VAT refunds at the airport which made the deal a lot sweeter. Filipino here and a global resident.
True. That’s why for luxury and high end items I only buy them in Europe. Europe is the place to purchase it. Way cheaper and the tax refund at the airport is even sweater.
It was such a great experience for me when I worked for LV last year. I did make commission but it’s honestly very low! It also depends on your sales for those curios I made 21$ an hour in 2019 with commission it was decent pay but not enough to make me stay for the amount of WORK! I was also part time and I remember I would leave the store forgotten to eat lunch but honestly I wanted just the perks and the discounts 😉
I’m sad to hear that the salary is not great. I feel like if you are handling high value items, you should be paid appropriately. LVMH is one of the richest conglomerates in the world, it’s a shame they don’t share that success with the employees who are actually selling the merchandise.
Holy cow! $17an hour is amazing! My husband started in law enforcement in 2013 and they started him off at $12 an hour... and got shot at. Each year they were set to make a 75cent raise. $17 an hour is quite hefty for the position. Glad to know Louis Vuitton pays their employees well!
$17 an hour wage for ten years ago is not bad considering only a few states today now offer $15 minimum wages. 10 years ago as a babysitter I could pull in $12-16 an hour depending on what the family could afford. I remember thinking $20 an hour was an unreachable wage. Sadly, it’s 2020 and my hourly wage never increased by much and now I’m lucky if I can pull in $25 an hour. Still boggles my mind that wages and salaries have not kept up with inflation and increased costs of living. Anyway, I stumbled upon your videos recently and I’m really enjoying this series. It’s fun to learn the behind the scenes details.
Thanks so much for watching! Do seasonal staff get an employee discount? When I worked for LV seasonal staff weren’t eligible for discounts on merchandise 😭 I wonder when the commission structure changed bc I saw a Glassdoor review from Feb of this year that they still don’t get commission 🤗
A Heated Mess you are correct, she does not. Only FT/PT permanent employees are eligible. Ya I’m not sure when it changed. This will be her 3 year going back and she’s mentioned commission right from day one.
if you were clearly listening.... YES you could get a quarterly and then a yearly bonus ONLY if the LV boutique you are working at exceeds sales compared to prior year’s quarters/end of year sales....
I thought that LV SA’s earned commissions. I guess we all think that. I bought my 1st LV bag (Artsy) and i was on a business trip in Ohio. It was the best experience ever. I was made to feel like i was the most valuable customer and that is amazing. I am about to purchase another bag now but it will be online so that super customer service i wont experience this time and i guess during a pandemic this is what i have to do. I really want to go into the store at Phipps plaza in downtown atlanta because i live here and never been there before. Great video new subbie here. Thanks for all of your videos.
Can you please do a video on how to get hired/hiring tips? I love LV and have wanted to work there for years! Love your videos can’t wait to see what you post next
Wow this is crazy. We just went in and spent $10K at Louis Vuitton in 2 hours and we thought our client advisor got at least a piece of that. She was amazing....
WOW.... and I spend well over $100K per month at my LV boutique located in SoHo!!!! I give my SA something extra on the side - she actually saves me and has given me bonus gifts.... LV chopsticks in a beautiful case, LV playing cards and this cute LV stationery set....
It makes me think that this explains why I’ve heard negative reviews on the employees not paying attention to some customers not sure if it’s because they think they can’t afford it because they are judging them so they don’t bother do offer help but knowing they will get paid anyway. That’s just the reviews I read.
I have friends who have worked at LV and Chanel if I remember correctly LV employers do receive individual commission though the percentage is based on the product category ie monogram being one of the Lowest. With Chanel employees receive group commission an average based on total sales this is based on London by the way.
Girl you made more 10 years ago than what I made last year. And I dont even work for retail! Damn so imagine how much lv employees make now. Plus getting your own uniform is amazing. Can't wait to watch more of your vids on this!
I’m told that the average starting salary now is around the same even 10 years later since they now also earn commission, but it varies by location 🤗 I have many more videos on the way so please stay tuned! Thanks so much for watching 🥰
Hi Cindy. I came across your video and I found the title interesting so I watched it. You did a great job, a very interesting story. I would have imagined that LV would pay on commission. Good for them for paying salary. My son worked in Apple Retail about 8 years ago and he was paid $12.50/hour (no bonus opportunity) so he would have loved your LV pay. Anyway, I've got a question for you somewhat off topic from this particular video. I want to ask this question and not sound like a jerk or condescending in anyway. It's something I've often wondered (as has my wife) and you seem like the perfect person to answer my question. Again, I'm not being a jerk or pointing fingers or anything like that...my intent is honorable. Here it goes.....I don't understand how a mostly canvas bag (with a little leather trim) can be so expensive. I'm a leather bag officianado and when I look at the quality of excptional leather bags, it makes sense. Full grain leather is very expensive and it's easy to get a leather briefcase for $1000 or so....mostly what i look at is the briefcase that's in the $400-$500 range. I just don't understand how a canvas bag (which feels very "plasticy" brings such a premium price. Obviously there is a big $ amount simply for the brand itself. I drive a Mercedes and I know that a % of the price of the car that I pay is due to the heritage of the brand. And I respect that about LV...it's a great story and a wonderful tradition of a company. Especially going back into the 1800's...such interesting stories. Cindy can you give me your professional/personal answer as to why you feel LV canvas bags can cost thousands of dollars...and small leather goods (SLG)...that are NOT leather. I don't understand how this can be. thank you so much for your time. Have a great weekend.
Hi. I know you asked specifically for Cindy’s opinion. But I do agree with you. I’m not as concerned with the why. But as a consumer, I got the canvas pieces that I wanted just because I loved them. Quickly though, I got tired because of the print. They end up all looking the same. Now I am much more into their leather packages. I have to say, I feel better purchasing leather at this price point. I’m curious to see her answer too. Thanks for asking this!
In my opinion, status symbol. The quality isn’t even there any longer. Neither is the customer service. 70% of the products I look at when interested are made outside of France as well. God knows why it’s still a thing :/
Wow! I’m super surprised that LV employees don’t make a commission. My hubby got me the alma bb Damien and Victorine wallet last week for my bday. I always thought they made comm from the the bags they sold. New Subbie here and love your interesting and informative videos.
Well I worked for LV in Miami(worst job I ever had) and we did make commission but every category was a certain percentage with RTW being the highest at 3% and canvas being the lowest(or one of). Depending the store’s volume sales goals for the particular Maison since we carried every category would be 150k-270k a month per employee against a commission bonus of less that $2500. But again depending on what categories was sold would give you a different number.
Yes! Lol the grooming and appearance rules were always such a hot button issue 😂 I can film a video about that as well since some things have changed 🥰 Thanks so much for watching!
They earn no commission?! That makes sense, I once walked into an LV and asked to buy a wallet for my fiancé as a wedding gift. The associate showed me the smallest coin card holder I’ve ever seen. I was like, “ummm, can I see the real wallets please?” I think he thought I had no money 💰 since I had just gone to the gym earlier and was wearing yoga pants.
It depends - some limited edition items are prohibited for employee purchase, and they usually have to wait a certain amount of time before they can purchase new releases 🤗
First of all, I have purchased several things from Gucci and the sales staff is very helpful. They are hardly pushy! They actually take the time to show me items I want to see, and I don't have to chase them down, like I do at Vuitton. At Vuitton, the sales associates are pushy! I asked to see something that was sold out, and the S.A. was grabbing things to show me that I didn't want, pushing "new" items at me, so that "isn't on me." Also, I hope you were a better sales person than the associates who I have to chase down. If you don't spend thousands per month, they don't want to know you. I go into Gucci stores and purchase and I have and will order Vuitton (if available!!) online.
Omg that's the type of seller I am, which makes me an even better salesperson because at the end, the client trusts you wayyy more because you just let them vibe out and kinda make the decision by themselves essentially. You can use your expertise to steer their decision... but...that's about it really. I don't feel rushed to make a purchase but I do feel like they're already thinking that I may waste their time (weird hang up of mine) so I feel more pressure personally! lol
A Heated Mess so happy to see another Filipina who speaks crystal clear diction (i'm a music director here in NC and always made it clear that I don't wanna adapt any accent from whatever state, I chose to stick on how words should be pronounced correctly) you're amazing! Mabuhay ka!
I, too, am surprised that LV has no commission structure. Perhaps it's just the SA that's been assisting me. She's great at finding really any bag I want. Even when others say "Oh you'll never get that one!". So she definitely works hard. But she also Is a strong up-sell type person, thus the reason I assumed commissions were involved. Constantly tying scarves on my bags and spraying their perfumes on me. I am like you, I only purchase what I know I really want. My BIGGEST pet-peeve with her and a lot of other SA's is once they know you're making a purchase, they start getting all fidgety looking at other customers walking in, like they're ready to move on. After spending several thousands of dollars, I absolutely cannot stand this behavior. But it's not only this one LV SA, I find a similar pattern in Dior, Chanel etc. Never in Hermes. Thank you for clarifying for us.
Yeah my friend has been approached by LV for a job. He said now they get a base salary and a small commission. Not a lot though. Maybe 3% of their total monthly sells.
They don't make commission still, but they do get 2% max bonus on sales made over their goal after a quarter. Which almost no one makes anyway because it's measured against your numbers from the previous year
Some SA’s are not friendly at all. They look at you like you don’t deserve to be there. One time I went to my favorite LV store for our anniversary, the SA who was helping me commented my pochette metis looks new and told him I got it for Mother’s Day. After we finished the transaction I told him I’ll be back in September for my birthday, he responded “You must be rich!! You just got your PM!!” (He forgot I got something that day too 🤣🤣🤣) I smiled and said, I deserve it. I wish he kept his opinion to himself. It’s not about how much money you have in your pocket. It’s about how I spend my money and how you treat a person who is willing to spend their money at the company where you are working at. Great video. TFS and stay safe ❤️❤️
Learning from every video!!..don't have any LV bags yet 😂 but here I am, I've only seen those purses from the window, at the mall or online...but one day!😁 Love hearing your voice! Lol not a creeper! Just a fan. 💜 take care loves!!
My experience with LV sales staff at 2 boutiques in Kuala Lumpur was disappointing. Just because I was wearing old jeans tshirt and flip flops, they sort of looked down on me as if I could not afford the items. Due to that attitude, I walked out and spend my money on Saint Laurent, Ferragamo and Chanel.
Fortunately not everyone is like that 🤗 The best client advisors are able to figure out what type of experience the client is looking for and respond accordingly 🥰 Thanks so much for watching!
Thank you so much for this video, I really needed this info, I have a salon and a wedding dress shop and I was having a crisis trying to structure incentives and bonuses, your info helped me, I have subscribed! 👌 keep up the good work xx
Thank you for this video! And, I totally agree. I have never felt pressured to purchase at LV. That is the primary reason I shop there. I see threads on FB LV groups all the time, with people moaning about how they feel pressured. Or, that the staff look down at them for some reason. It’s all so far from what I’ve ever encountered. I’m glad you said it, maybe that’s just on them then. Cheers!
Thank you so much for watching Scott! Of course every employee is different but I think *some* customers are more uncomfortable than others shopping at a luxury designer store, and that feeling is projected onto the client advisor 🤗 I plan to talk about this more in future LV employee videos so please stay tuned 🥰
Wow Cindy, your channel is growing so quickly!!! Yay Congratulations!!!! Loving this series of video's! Wow I always thought LV employees made commission but I guess most people assume that. Awesome video Cindy!
Awesome video, Cindy. It is a hot topic. 😊🤝 You were lucky to have a smart manager who provided prizes. It was interesting to know more about you and LV.
$17/hour is not bad at all for a standard retails sales associate job. I worked at a high volume Footlocker in my state which pays commission. I calculated it out and some months would look like $20/hour or $15/hour depending on traffic and seasons. Pros and cons to it all but luxury associates usually get a nicer discount with perks in the company.
Thanks for the video. It really clarified somethings like no commission 😕 that's different. Hmm I was wondering like you have real luxury bags could you do reviews on knock off bags from DHgate . They say its really similar but is it really
Pretty similar to Home depot. Yearly bonus though. You basically had to beat sales from the same day last year like 80% of the time. Minimum was 100. Highest was like 1000. Obviously way different jobs but yeah. Even the 1000 is a bit of a misnomer. You were still competing with other stores to get that high. Management could never understand why no one cared about the bonuses. Find it interesting this is that common of a pay structure. Management it was a bigger deal getting the bonus. It was more substantial.
@@AHeatedMess yay looking forward to it!! Do you have anything about quality control on slg? I got 3 key pouches recently and 2 of them don't have very good quality. Not sure if I'm expecting too much from a slg item or if their quality deteriorated.
Ive never had very good experiences shopping at any LV stores in my city. My husband has spent tens of thousands over the years buying me bags and shoes from there, and they’ve always been standoffish. I’m not saying LV employees in general are unfriendly, but my experience has never been very good. They’re much nicer at Burberry and Chanel in my city.
You have such a pleasant voice and never say “um” or “uh” and I definitely appreciate it!
That is what i wanna say too. She speaks so clearly.
and we are here for the business, boys, get your act together, you naughty 'boys' ..
She's a lawyer and it definitely shows in her speaking style!!! A class act all the way
No at 4:20 she said uh
I noticed that too...
I love the way you sound and carry yourself. You are so eloquent, classy and elegant! Awesome videos!

She’s scoffing at $17 an hour at her college job. That was my starting pay as a nurse 17 years ago and I thought I was rich 😂
Yeah $17/hr 10 yrs ago for part time retail is actually very very good!
Depends what city you live in😂
Haha! I was just thinking that. I worked in the medical field (clerical) with a college degree and made $15 an hour.
In the eighties I made 25-30 dollars an hour as a word processor. Seventeen an hour when a company makes so much per item is bullshit.
My job only pays $5 an hour 😭😭
My friend worked at Saks in lux handbags. She made 6 figures due to commission.
working for Saks NOT LV

That’s awesome 🤗

WOW.... and I spend well over $100K per month at my LV boutique located in SoHo!!!! I give my SA something extra on the side - she actually saves me and has given me bonus gifts.... LV chopsticks in a beautiful case, LV playing cards and this cute LV stationery set....
Yes my LV sa tells me girl you don't need that bag don't get that scarf it sheds 😂
lolllll
Lol
That's a good SA in my book! Tell me I don't need something so I can save my money!
I did this working at Dior lol
Im kinda getting addicted watching you even if i dont have the LV yet😂 i just lpve
listening to you.
It makes me think that this explains why I’ve heard negative reviews on the employees not paying attention to some customers not sure if it’s because they think they can’t afford it because they are judging them so they don’t bother do offer help but knowing they will get paid anyway. That’s just the reviews I read.
You are such a great speaker. Love how clear and elegant you sound
AGHASE!!!!!!!! GOT7 Fighting!!!
God knows why it’s still a thing :/
you shoud make an updated version of that
This channel is so informative
Thank you so much for watching 🥰
I think this girl is so pretty and she speaks about interesting things
I think this series would make such a great podcast! I listen at work and I always look forward to learning more! ☺️
Aw thank you so much for watching Natalie! I actually have some podcast-related news that I hope to share with everyone soon 🥰
But again depending on what categories was sold would give you a different number.
whattt so confusing 😭
I love you for being straight to the point.no dramas and no yada yada yadas...
New subbie. Eloquently delivered information every time. Thank you.
Hi Jason 🤗 Thanks so much for watching and subscribing 🥰
Hi! Happy I found your videos. Can you also do a video on wardrobe and grooming standards for LV SAs? Thanks!
Yes! Lol the grooming and appearance rules were always such a hot button issue 😂 I can film a video about that as well since some things have changed 🥰 Thanks so much for watching!
@@AHeatedMess Awesome thanks. Looking forward to watching!

Do you read the Purse Forum? They've been making commission for a few years now...
So great that some things have changed for the better 🥰 Thanks so much for watching 🤗

Do u guys have give small gifts to your highest shopper? Love all your videos
Yes! VICs receive special gifts which I plan to discuss in a future video! Thanks so much for watching 🤗
You’re a great speaker. Very articulate.
Goodwill in MO..get paid a commission every week. They have a quota every month & money over the quota was given to employees at that store.
Great video! I was always so curious. Thank you so much for this series! Great channel!!!
Thanks so much for watching Antonella 🤗
This explains my experience last week I bought 2 Alma bb bags and the SA was dry. Just a dull experience
Are LV employees allowed to buy products at full price if they want to?
I go into Gucci stores and purchase and I have and will order Vuitton (if available!!) online.
no one calls louis vuitton by just the last name. its called louis or LV for short never vuitton
Get a life, Erin. I was buying Vuitton before you were born. You are obviously nouveau riche.
@@terrifromm5085 you don't know my age and if im 'new money' or 'old money' and regardless that's irrelevant to my point
@@bebeerin Get a life!
I like your videos, they are very informative and interesting!
Omg that's the type of seller I am, which makes me an even better salesperson because at the end, the client trusts you wayyy more because you just let them vibe out and kinda make the decision by themselves essentially. You can use your expertise to steer their decision... but...that's about it really. I don't feel rushed to make a purchase but I do feel like they're already thinking that I may waste their time (weird hang up of mine) so I feel more pressure personally! lol
This was true years ago... LV associates do make commission now!
Yay!!
A Heated Mess so happy to see another Filipina who speaks crystal clear diction (i'm a music director here in NC and always made it clear that I don't wanna adapt any accent from whatever state, I chose to stick on how words should be pronounced correctly)
you're amazing! Mabuhay ka!
Big 7 Travel hailed Filipino as the sexiest accent in Asia and 21st in the world ❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍
I, too, am surprised that LV has no commission structure.
Thanks so much for sharing your experiences and perspective! Cheers, Lorna
What you study in your graduation?? Is there any course to get into luxury brands??
I love this series so so much! Tysm for sharing 🤍

Hi, I am from India and I am trying to apply for LVMH in London, what is your thought about it and how will I go with it?
They don't make commission still, but they do get 2% max bonus on sales made over their goal after a quarter. Which almost no one makes anyway because it's measured against your numbers from the previous year
Any tips on how to get a job at LV ?
How long ago did you work at LVMH? My LV SA says they make above minimum wage + commission quota. She's not pushy and honest which is why I like her.
Looove your videos!!!
Thanks so much for watching 🥰
Ruby Rain very well said!
can you please do a video on how to apply? i would loooove to see that
I will - stay tuned 🤗 Thanks so much for watching 🥰
Amazing video really enjoyed it keep the videos coming!
I just purchased me first LV and wallet today. I can't wait until I purchase again
Learning from every video!!..don't have any LV bags yet 😂 but here I am, I've only seen those purses from the window, at the mall or online...but one day!😁 Love hearing your voice! Lol not a creeper! Just a fan. 💜 take care loves!!
Aw thank you so much for watching! I will be posting more in this series soon so please stay tuned 🥰
Yes absolutely. I don’t like to be pushed
Fortunately not everyone is like that 🤗 The best client advisors are able to figure out what type of experience the client is looking for and respond accordingly 🥰 Thanks so much for watching!
A Heated Mess I love your videos thanks so much for sharing.
A Heated Mess You’re right! It is a projection. I’m excited to see where you take this series of videos. Best of luck! I’ll be watching 🧡🧡🧡
REALLY BEENS LIKING THIS SERIES SUPER INTERESTING. CONGRATS ON THE 13K sub that was fest 🥰🥰🥰😍🥳
Thank you so much Raquel 🥰
No one NEEDS a designer bag though, so those tactics work on a lot of people.
It would work on me except I cannot afford a Chanel. 😂
I am loving these series! Please keep on making it. I love knowing the inside scoop.
Wow Cindy, your channel is growing so quickly!!! Yay Congratulations!!!! Loving this series of video's! Wow I always thought LV employees made commission but I guess most people assume that. Awesome video Cindy!
Yay thank you so much for watching Yota! You are one of my OG subscribers back when I first started my channel last year 🥰
Awesome video, Cindy. It is a hot topic. 😊🤝 You were lucky to have a smart manager who provided prizes. It was interesting to know more about you and LV.
Yes I was fortunate to have a wonderful manager when I first started with LV 🥰 Thanks for watching Sabina 🤗
I am loving this LV series! 😍 Thank you so much for sharing! ❤️
Wow didn't know they dont make commissions!! Thanks for sharing
Things have changed recently and now they do earn a small tiered commission based on category 🥰 Thanks for watching 🤗
@@AHeatedMess just watched all your LV series video. So interesting hearing all these stories. Thank you so much for sharing ❤

Where do you live?
