Yes! That’s insane! But I’m so glad that they do that. I heard a rumour they burn their excess stock, so a fire sale to employees is much more sustainable for the environment ☺️ Now... I need a part time job at LV so I no longer have to pay full price for their shoes and goods in general 🤣
Yet the ones at Selfridges stole the wallet in my neverfull 4 years ago. They new i was a novice buying luxury item and stole from me, I didn't even realise until recently when I was watching a video about LV and the person says her never full had a purse.
They let you keep that part of the uniform?
I wouldn’t be able to work at Louis Vuitton, all my salary would go back to the store lol

I worked as a doorman at the 5th Av (N. America corporate store) in NYC in the winter. I only made 18/hr twice a week and NO employee benefits lol (never bought anything despite loving the craftsmanship). I got the gig through a temp agency. Assuming they reopen retail, you could have the benefit of working AT (not for) LV, all the fun of the interesting human behavior at LV, biceps and core workout for managing a heavy ass door, and none of the responsibility. I would pop in a bluetooth earphone under my beanie and just listen to my fav podcasts all day as I marginally paid attention to opening the door for people! 😜

I actually think it’s generous of LV to offer these items specifically for their employees. It doesn’t go to waste and it’s a way to boost employee morale. I work for an airline and it’s very similar as well. Aside from free flights, Employees also get first class seats if they are available.
I swear anyone whose worked in retail could write a book on customer stories!!!

I dress in sweats all the time LV has been the only store to accept me and its why I always buy leather from here 🙂, I can’t believe every other store just judges 😂 who tf dresses up to go shopping we live in a bizarre world. thank you for being a nice person 😊

I also wore sweats and a hoodie when I went into lv to purchase a bag.. just happened a week ago lol
This brings back memories to when I use to work at Neiman Marcus and we had a 30% discount and twice a year we had clearance sales where items were marked down by 50% then an addition 50% or 50% and then an additional 30%. I got my first Chanel bag for around $600 as well and my first pair of Chanel shoes for $150 haha.
@@Kksarari It did for us because they were basically trying to get rid of whatever was left in the warehouse from previous seasons where there were may be 1-2 left in stock. I am not sure what happened after they got bought out by Warburg Pincus Group and then by the Canada Pension Plan Board but before all of that while I was in University and working for them they had amazing discounts twice a year to clear out stock. I was making $15 an hour but had commission in my position so it wasn't all that bad but this was also 16+ years ago.

I worked for LV in Harrods but to be honest I never got crazy with it. I am fortunate to have branded bags and accessories before I became an employee therefore I was more focused on my commission so I could travel the whole Europe. The company is extremely organised with many talented assets and a great company to work for.
When I worked for LV I got my first LV card holder for free.... and my first pouchette accessories at 40% off!! Those were the good ole days while I was in college.

How did you apply? Did you go in and ask for a job or did you find it online ? In my LV stores the people are always condescending and intimating lol so I would like to know how I could apply
I worked at the ATL store for 6 years and we had a huge end of the year sale for employees everything was between 60%-95%. I got 15 bags and so many other things for less than $10,000. I do know that only select stores do these sales for employees and don’t know if they still do them.
I just got hired for a Client Service position Friday! I’m excited!! Especially because the store I’m at in Dallas has expanded to a global store.

Most of this has changed! You do not get to keep your uniforms or work crossbody. The discount is 30% off BUT if it’s a new launch you can only purchase with your discount after the items have been out 6 months. So usually it’s all sold out so you could rarely get anything new. The discount is also capped at $5,000. So if the item was $5000 or more you pay full price. There is an employee store called “VAP” and it has retired or shop soiled items with a bigger percentage off. There are no in store sales anymore only online on VAP OR the VAP employee store in Paris. Which you need to make an appointment for and you can not shop with any friends or family. I worked for LV this last year!
Thank you for clarifying the newer employee discount rules. 30% is better then nothing but it's certainly not that great.. 40% would be much better 🙄
I wanna hear more of your stories! Most entitled customer you've dealt with, do celebrities really close down stores to shop, should customers really be intimidated when entering a store - are questions I have in mind. I hope you can answer these questions in your next video :)
Maybe they sell “perfect sellable condition” the time you worked with LV but quality control now is really bad. I bought pochette metis online last June and they sent me glazing issues and crooked edges. I walked in to the boutique last July for our anniversary and my 6 key holder has scratches on the hardware. The store has dim lights or not bright enough to see all the flaws. I just hope LV step up to resolve these quality issues. Great video again!
In their defence I think the first run of pochette Metis has been a well known issue, they are very aware of it and replace them all
Kiara I thought they resolved the issue about PM so I took the plunge couple months ago. I got it replaced but it’s so disappointing to receive a defective item ☹️☹️

So true! An LV SA in my city tried to sell me a 4 ring keyholder with the glazing totally damage (some areas missing) all around the keyholder. When I pointed it out, he just said he was sorry and placed it back in the drawer! probably to sell to someone who wouldn't notice it. I couldn't believe it! I had them order one in the color I wanted and it arrived ok but to this day, I still can't believe that LV store did that. I can only imagine how many other damage items they try to pass to customers. I never shopped there again, I drive an hour to another location when I need something from LV.
DMLK CS very poor CS. I was at the store earlier today and the CA who helped me was so unfriendly. He acted like I’m a passerby at his neighborhood asking for a direction.
If they can put a sale for $49 just imagine how much that shoes actually cost them and they're putting 1000% margin on that for customers🤐

It’s very very different now! No RTV, not much regarding discount with other brands, no contest incentives with actual LV product. Our contests prizes consisted of items from Target 😕. Have to wait for a new product to be out for 6 months before you can purchase. No stockroom, all employee sales were online only, unless you visit the store in France. No family friends discounts. I snagged a few clothes and shoes, but no handbags that were worth it!

Just apply, best time is really around the holidays when they have Part-Time but in certain areas it’s rare that there are openings so you have to constantly keep going to the site to see what’s opened in your desired area. If you have had any retail experience, especially with an designer brand (mines was Coach) make sure that it is listed on your resume with details of what you did. I had and interview with the assistant store manager (I think or he was the store manager, can’t really remember) and he really like me so he offered me a 2nd interview with the (store manager or regional manager, can’t really remember as mentioned but she had a higher position than him) before leaving the store. I know I did well in the 2nd interview, however I was not selected after they finished up with all the interviews. I assumed it had something to do with me not fitting the particular look being sought or perhaps the factor that I worked a full time job already in a completely different field so they did not take me serious. I’m not sure, I may try again though

I had a friend who worked at Ferragamo in Seoul back 12 years ago and they also had crazy sales like this for friends and family. I didn't realize other luxury brand did such a good job of these perks for employees. Omg, I'd have emptied the store with all my earnings at an LV sale 😵

I was told employees no longer receive discounts on classics like the Speedy or Neverfull.
I remember when my dad used to be a security guy there and we would get free shoes and belts but they were uniform.
Cindy, that’s a uniform bag, and not actually consumer product, and the company requires you to relinquish your uniform before leaving the company. I use to be an ambassador of LV ladies shoes of the east coast. On our RTV website things were dirt cheap and also outdated product.
This makes me wish the closest LV store wasn't a hour away so I could apply!

There’s a similar thing for shoes in Hugo Boss employees but it’s online, 39€ and you can only buy 2 pairs for a month.

If you work for any Tory Burch location they also provide you with sets of uniforms and an additional around the fall/winter time and 2 sets of Tory shoes. You get 2 Tory dresses along with 2 different cardigans. 2 sets of slacks, two blouses and a pair of flats + sneakers. They dry clean for you as well so if anyone who has a Tory near them & are too intimidated by a higher luxury retail store such as LV I would check them out. The pay is great & much better than many stores I know of. I worked in the last couple of years for Coach, MK & Tory def paid the most and had the more organized store. You get up to 70% off outlet locations during the last week of the month and an additional 40% off on top of that. Online you get 50% off anything besides the bags in the high $700-900 range.
I love LV & if I had time to work there PT I would! Our location is extremely far from where I live but this video was great.💕

I went to purchase a bag at the LV store at the galleria mall in Dallas Texas. I was totally dismissed because I did not look the part (ethnic) and I looked like I did not have money to spend that day! It was utterly disheartening since I drove 3 hrs. Many shoppers walked in after me and they were helped. I ended up walking out, and have never been back since. I ended up finding a sales associate in Las Vegas, who was able to get me the hard to find reverse pochette Metis. If they only knew, this was not my first LV purchase. Fun fact, my first purchase was in Paris, at the Champs Elysees Avenue.
An interesting topic! I've always wondered about these perks. $49 for LV shoes! that's a perk!! With the exception of trips to France based on sales, did the employees have to work a minimum amount of hours before getting any of the perks? Thanks for sharing!

Will assonates try to sell an imperfect bag hoping the customer will not notice? Has there been attempts to switch a bag for a less perfect bag when taken in to the back (out of customers’s sight) to be boxed?

I have been working for D&G and to be honest, we didn't get treated this well. Our uniforms were cheaply made, ripping constantly, the shoes falling apart....never received discounts.

Our employee discounts aren’t that extravagant now, we have a employee website that’s discounted but it’s not that much on there and it’s older styles. Mainly supervisors and higher ups are sent to Paris now. A lot of what she’s saying isn’t relevant, but they used to do what she said years ago :)

This is fascinating when u think of how much % of a paycheck someone would spend back on merchandise. It’s like LV pays u $1000, but u buy a $1000 bag they paid $100 to make. It’s like they get free labor🤔 I definitely spent my money where I worked before so no judgement just some interesting math from the companies perspective. 🤓

Hi Cindy I have a LV bucket but in pm size , I bought this vintage, then I brought to my local LV boutique for inside repair was sent to Paris/ France but I wished I have the old date-codes 😊, still love my LV .

Are these perks still available for LV sales associates in 2020? I recently was in a LV Boutique and mentioned to the SA that I love the little crossbody pouch each SA worn in the store and asked if she was able to keep it and she said no they have to lock the pouch up each night and it’s given to new employees if they quit. Have the perks changed? Does the employees perks vary by States or is it the same across the board? Your discounts on LV shoes were simply amazing. Your friends lucky to go to a LV sale.

How would they know if you bought from RTV and then gifted it to a friend or family member? I can see why the policy is that way but I don’t understand how they could possibly enforce that. What happens to anything that wasn’t purchased by employees from RTV? Or ready to wear that didn’t sell?

Hi Cindy great content my wife wants to know what is the style name of the black pouch swing bag the employees now carry with them? It’s a small black LV pouch with a zipper top and the employee that was helping us at the time told her you can’t find it for sale or cause they only make them for the employees and when they quit or get let go they have to surrender it
I was told that employees don’t get any discount on the regular items anymore. ☹️
So fake, any brand has a discount for employees, right now is 30% for kenzo, 55% for Hugo boss, 50% Gucci, 40% sometimes 50% for Burberry, 50% Salvatore Ferragamo
@@HH-ie5eb those stores have sales for customers too.. minus gucci but gucci has an outlet.
Lv and chanel don't have outlets or sales in general so I wouldn't be surprised if u cant get sales on brand new items as an employee.
