I’m tired of people excusing bad pastor behavior by saying “no church is perfect”....which means, don’t try to hold the pastor accountable and just accept it.

You'll have to expect it. The bible says man will let you down. They don't change, infact they get more prideful and have the church plot you as a blacksider and or Jezebel to protect the organisation. There is a very power dark principality working within churches... Witchcraft. They protect those who thithe "well" and have been in church for many years. New members are usually very discerned to spot this...
Some pastors try hide their operand modus, but it's evident and they always slip up during their sermons especially with thithe and faith and also while pushing self development. They even state they want people of influence who can get into schools hospitals etc etc ...and people who can thithe well .... That's why you don't find homeless in the church... We should be inviting groups to church every Sunday, the homeless... But we don't see that .. because they dont thithe and others look down on them .. This is an act of desperation and lack of their own faith God doesn't need us. We need him. They don't stay long. Of course it's not all in church ... But most. Christian churches are not much different to other cults.... And in essence most are organisations. I know a women who had cancer... Her church cell group actually blocked her and rejected her during her illness....covering up things that were done to her. She served at church an everything. But they treated her very poorly.. ALSO, they have actually targets to reach relating to new members and thithe... Very sad indeed

"There is no perfect church" is the statement of an enabler. People use this to excuse the congregants behavior, too. Not every church is like the Corinthian church, and not every church is like the cretian church, as mentioned in Titus 1:12-13 but it seems to be the majority of them that is this way.

Pretty much! I have never shared with our pastor that my narcissistic husband who is a deacon in our church has these issues. So afraid that he wouldn’t believe me or tell me to pray more etc. Since the COVID hit I have pulled away from attending our church that I have gone to for almost 40 yrs because I cannot handle how my husband will treat me at home so awful many times and then in church he is Mr Holly Jolly as I call it. And our pastor has never asked me where am I or how am I? God only knows what my husband tells him!

If one visits a church and the parking spaces that are closest to the front doors are not reserved for the handicap, elderly or expecting mothers, but instead are reserved for the "senior pastor" and "first lady", then that's probably a bad sign.

I am Canadian and I wasn't familiar with the term "first lady" until now. I have never gone to a church with a "first lady" as if the pastor is the President. My buddy Steve is a pastor and I have observed him over time. I am considering joining his church. The problem is the good guys like him have to deal with the other guys because they are often in the same denominational / association circles. My ex-pastor happened to be very amillenial and didn't believe in the Tribulation or that anything was really "end times". I am not pre-trib - I happen to be post-trib - whatever - but he would go on and on making fun of pre-trib people. The problem is that if we are near the Tribulation he is in deep trouble and I think he knows it deep down.

I'm not a believer anymore, I left the church over ten years ago. Corruption among leadership is one of the main reasons I left. But I noticed a lot of pastors are highly charismatic and great entertainers but they're ignorant of the scriptures and don't play a much of a teaching role. I think a big problem is the congregation consists of people who are easily manipulated and also ignorant of the scriptures themselves. Unless they're taking a verse out of context to push a political agenda. The young adult's discipleship program (Masters Commission) at the church I was raised in was led by a narcissist who was sleeping with the young women in the program who didn't have father figures in their lives. Seeing that firsthand and other abuse is why I just don't even believe God exists.

@@littlelegs4563Hi Little Legs, Please do not leave Christ Jesus for what others do wrong. We are all sinners needing grace. That doesn’t excuse what we see in many churches today or people in general. I believe most pastors are not even saved. Most are hirelings that never even preached against sin ONCE in a while. Because they weren’t living right other. There are some good ones out there. Jesus said it would get bad int he last days and many would apostatize from the faith, that can mean leaving the faith (as it sounds like you did because of others) in getting hurt, or not living the faith as many pastors are not committed and got into ministry as a career or nepotism because their Dad was a preacher or pastor. Please do not take this out on the Lord who has no fault. I don’t go to church but love my Saviour for what He did for me. God’s word is still God’s word and it is true. I love you in Jesus. I left a few churches over the years and my heart bleeds for people that get dismayed because of this great falling away but please do not become that statistic on the other end of the spectrum. When my sister attended a church college, it was known across campus that ministerial students were the most aggressive dates and the girls had to keep an eye the hands of these guys because they were like an octopus. Since my father was a pastor, I was acquainted with more ministers than most I can't tell you how many of them had scandals regarding money, sex, or both. 11:20 "It is a sickness." It breaks my heart. I cannot stomach most churches. Even, the so-called good ones. I am not perfect, therefore I do not look for perfection, but I must have honesty and we can go from there. It's so phony, judgemental and cliquish. If you don't play the game in the church they will run you out--on behalf of the pastor.

You mentioned the problem of "pastor worship". The Lord said "Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many." In my opinion, a person doesn't have to flat out claim to be the Lord, but when they start to take on a role of mediator between God and people, they are starting to fulfill Matthew 24:4 & 5.

We just left a church where the pastor was a toxic authoritarian. No accountability he and one of the trustees handled the church finances as a personal checking account. When asked about it, the pastor would get defensive and say everything is above board, creates silos, and would run anyone who would hold him accountable. Then preach a two series on why the other person is wrong and walking away from God by leaving his church.

Poimen Greek word translated as shepherd and pastor in the New Testament.
Jesus said, “there shall be one fold and ONE shepherd.” John 10
Someone will say, but what about Ephesians 4:11? Paul said, “he gave some as pastors (plural)”
      Who said?
Jesus said “one pastor.” Same Greek word.
PASTOR JESUS: Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

We have been isolated and slandered by the pastor, and the other church goers who were our "friends" shunned us. Everyone will reap what they have sown from the greatest to the least. We served a 48 page paper to the congregation outlining the abuses. Within months it was revealed that two of the pastors were having affairs and the church congregants are leaving in droves for various reasons. God is removing their lampstand in judgement but it's been a horrible horrible experience going through this.

I learned that there was a cover-up over not only adultery but sexual abuse as well. Rather than taking even a hint of ownership, they maintained that it was the fault of the victims. (The church was being sued only a few weeks into my employment.) The "poor victimized" church leaders were "so good at spreading the Word of God that Satan used those weak and immature Christians to attack them." I ended up quitting and leaving the church. There was just so much evil that these people perpetrated it was heartbreaking.

If only you knew the full extent of what you are saying. I served as Medical Missionary. When I returned to the U.S. I traveled as a Locum Tenens Anesthesia Provider, traveling around the U.S. filling in for a month here and there temporarily filling in at hospitals until they could hire a permanent Provider. We always attended Evangelical Churches while traveling. Almost without exception, because the Pastors knew I was bound by confidentiality they would ask me to stay after the service, take me into their private office and confess to me their sins, almost always adultery. This served to relieve their conscious, knowing that I would shortly be gone, carrying their secrets with me. As you say they were all Narcissists, I sensed no repentance, only an opportunity to off load their sins. I listened without comment. These men were not seeking counsel, they only wanted to get it off their chests to make them feel better, notice I said to make themselves feel better. A true sign of a narcissist. They did not ask for prayer or guidance. They had not sought forgiveness from the women or their husbands, Nor had they contacted their District Superintendent as is mandated by Church Policy.
Growing up, my local Pastors were attempting to force me to join their ministry and took me into their confidences, and told me (gossiped) about all of the sins of the Congregants. Things I did not need to know as a young college age man. They also revealed to me the illegal finances they practiced in the Church (people did not know it, but they privately owned the Church Property and solicited donations to build it. I finally searched the public records and found out that if something happened to them, the ownership of the Church went to their minor son (who later, went on to work in the hierarchy of Benny Hinn), and that the Church Board they set up was a shame, the real Regulating Church Board that they put on the State Documents, consisted of their family members scattered around the U.S. and they conducted a phone Board Meeting of their family once a year to meet State Regulations.
The Bible says, in Roman 3:10: "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one." referring to what is written in the Psalms. They do not seek repentance, because that would call for them to resign. What would they do for a job. They have no other skills than manipulation (maybe they could sell used cars or real estate).

Took me until recently to realize it's not me that has a demonic problem but them! The church elder by the way claimed only certain churches can do exorcisms. This is in contradiction to the Bible. Jesus said anyone who is a Christian can drive out demons. He also drove out many demons and admitted that evil forces/demons exist. So many problems with pastors and the way church is run. You are right on with so many of your points. I don’t know if its really 90% but its high. Even the ones with good hearts and good intentions can still have major issues within the church now that its run as a business. We have gotten SO FAR from what church is supposed to be, its really super sad. I’ve had to say no to joining churches simply on the basis of all the things they want you to promise and sign to be a “member”. These leaders claim to have authority to impose their rules and their ways but it doesn’t come from God. All our manmade institutions and inventions only serve to undermine what God intended for the church to be. Theres so many problems, and turning pastoring into a profession is definitely one of the root problems. A pastoral degree doesn’t make a person qualified, its more likely to puff up and create an entitlement attitude, as if their position was somehow earned or deserved and commands respect. Jesus chose uneducated fishermen for a reason. How do people, congregations, and leaders run churches in ways so contrary to the Bible and yet they don’t see it?? It baffles me and makes me sick. I’ve seen pastors just like you talk about cause all sorts of harm and problems and outright lie. People like that give Christians a bad name and will be judged severely for harming God’s flock. I do wonder how many of these narcissists are actually saved and how many realize or don’t realize the harm they are doing...

Never met a church minister of any kind (pastor, vicar, priest etc) or Jewish Rabbi or even Jewish Dayan (religious judge) that wasn't extremely narcissistic and demonic. I even had an experience where it was as obvious as watching a horror movie - vicar screamed the place down, got red in the face, started foaming at the mouth while spewing hatred towards me and threatening me... yikes, even now eight years later I shudder. You are so right about them wanting praises. I’ve seen this in several churches, It would be so painful sitting in church while at least 15-20 mins of the service was dedicated to giving praise to how awesome some leader was. Also there was a practice of letting a pastor leave one church in one area, usually in another state, and go to another church after having been involved in some sin. I’ve seen this across denominations. Another thing I’ve seen in churches is cliques and creating a heirarchy of believers based on how much money and time a person puts into the church, often this also has to do with socioeconomic status. Somehow this was translated to being a more faithful believer.

it's exactly the same at synagogues. I got treated abysmally because I was poor at the time. Got told I'm not good enough, don't deserve a Jewish husband, got membership of the synagogue denied, gossip got spread about me allegedly being a loose woman, got told I'm so stupid, uneducated, deprived, lazy. All of this started after it came out that I was poor. Prior to that, when everyone at the synagogue thought I was rich (I'm actually from a wealthy background so dressed well, only got poor after having had everything stolen), they spread rumors that I was so intelligent, clever, well educated, smart etc and the men fell over themselves for wanting to marry me.
      It's pathetic!

99% of so-called pastors' do not preach a biblical Gospel. Many of them have a very low opinion of women and encourage abuse toward women. They also believe the only people that can be saved are those on their pre-approved list, which means those in the cult. And they also decree people lost that haven't met their qualified spiritual weekly check list. The only way out is the exit door. And never look back. This is why most churches are failing and closing. God's judgment is on these greedy narcissistic self-appointed kings.

I wholeheartedly agree with this message. I generally do not get along with most pastors for this reason. In fact, I left a church back in 2009 because of a pastor with NPD. I didn't know it at the time, but he was the straw that broke the camel's back and the one who inspired me to do extensive research on narcissism and narcissistic personality disorder. This was after years of experiencing narcissists for most of my childhood and a good portion of my adulthood. Excellent post. We have to be soooooo careful with pastors nowadays. A good question to ask is "Do I want to do life with this person/with this ministry?" I believe this is a crucial question. The biggest narcissists I have ever known have been within the confines of church. No exaggeration.

I’ve been contemplating a total revision of the entire Sunday church service format away from having the sermon and live band performance as the mainstay. Really appreciated everything you said here. And yes I’ve experienced narcissistic abuse from a “pillar of the church”, he was one of my best friends. I came across your video and I will have to agree with you. I'd also like to share my story. I grew up in the Conservative Holiness movement. It's probably one of the more strict groups of denominations out there. It generally consists of Bible Methodists, Pilgrim Holiness, Bible Missionary, Allegany Wesleyan, etc. They usually all share strict regulations mainly pertaining to outward appearance. When I was a child, we attended a "Wesleyan Holiness" church. A new pastor came in and all was well until he greeted myself, my siblings and my mother at the door on Sunday morning and wondered where our father was? My mother informed him that my father had to work at the hospital on that Sunday (which wasn't really the norm because he was able to be off on most Sundays). This did not sit well with the new pastor and things deteriorated quickly. First, he told my father that he could no longer play his trombone on the platform, but that he would have to sit on the first pew instead with his back to the congregation. Next, he slowly removed my father and mother from the song schedule and then he withheld their Sunday school booklet material. I guess thinking this did not get the job done at forcing them out, he resorted to public verbal abuse from the pulpit. He mentioned that food we had donated to them, had been thrown in the trash, he made fun of my mothers piano playing even going as far as to bash on the piano keys during a sermon. The straw that broke the camels back finally occurred one Sunday morning after my uncle had died a very tragic death. I was very close to my uncle and had witnessed some of the aftermath of his death and I still have emotional scars from that to this day. Another family had also suffered a death in the church at the same time. Our family, as well as the other family, sent thank you cards to the church because people from the church came to support us at the viewing of our uncle. As was the custom, the pastor would read the cards publicly that were sent to the church. He read the thank you card from the other family and once again expressed his sympathy to them. When he came to our card (and I will use another last name for privacy), he said the following from the pulpit, "And as for the Thomas family, I don't know what happened to their card, I think I threw it in the trash" and then he laughed. I will never forget that feeling as a kid. I was crushed and just destroyed. He chose instead of attempting to help heal us, to simply twist the verbal knife all because my father worked on Sunday at a hospital. It has been 26 years, but I tracked him down finally and I'm going to mail a letter to him mainly asking why he did what he did and explaining how I felt, and also saying that I forgive him. Its emotional baggage I have held for a while and at least for me, I won't be responsible for anything when I stand before Christ. I have received advice though that this mans reply may not be very kind and if it isn't, I am sending both my letter and his to their conference president.

Very disturbing story told to me at Newfound Baptist Church in Leicester NC! I had heard about a man who drove into a church parking lot not far from where I use to live. This man had attempted to get help from someone in that church rather they told him to get out of their parking lot. Must have been another day than Sunday. Anyway I was told the guy stayed in his car for several hours and not leave; eventually someone went into the parking lot to see why the man was still there and found that he had shot himself to death. The pastor who told me this story is currently the pastor at that same church but was not the pastor at that time but he had heard the story and told me. I thought how could anyone allow that disturbed man not to be shown love and concern where he probably assumed someone there might care. Need less to say that poor man's hopes had to have hit rock bottom as he met with heartlessness! Also the pastor who told me the story acted as though the man was at fault for causing a disturbance which later on I ended up being the target of the very pastor that told me the story. He had, at one point, told me over the phone "it's my time and there is nothing you can do to take that from me" along with throwing scriptures from Peter (can't remember 1 or 2). He got angry with me because I asked questions in front of the congregation and he could not answer them so he retaliated by telling me not to come in there to cause trouble. Eventually he got me to the side before a morning service and said the deacons came to him and asked him to tell me not to ask questions in front of the kids during service. I looked at him and said "I do not answer to you nor anyone else in this church especially you, I done what God has told me to do and I will not keep silent at your command". The questions I asked were about Biblical matters so why was he so offended at them, other than he felt ashamed not able to give answer. Hum very certain he is a narcissistic pastor. Actually I was sent there to test this situation and in so doing I also learned how severely dangerous people sitting under such person can be in a whole mess of trouble! We are told in "1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world." (KJV). Notice the subtile ways they do things because once you become aware of it how can it be subtile?! Cunning, deceptiveness, trickiness, etc. preys on those who are not aware! Please I implore people, seeking to find truth, ask The Holy Spirit for guidance! May God strengthen those who are warning people to be careful to what they listen to and know that you are not alone. :~~~0~~~:

Timewilltell I want to first thank you for sharing your story. You have touched my heart. I have been a victim of the righteous congregation. It destroyed my happiness within that church because I was about to become a new member. The problem was that I was a teen mom and all the children in the church wanted to be around me. I have a gift from God that draws people especially children around me. I genuinely love people and enjoy them so much. I love learning from them and would never judge or disrespect others. I never said or did anything wrong but just being a young mom was an abomination to them. No one even talked to me about my life or what happened. I was treated as if I was going to corrupt the kids and caused problems in the church. One young lady (around 14) told me that she could never sit with me again because I had a child and I could only tell her how to get pregnant. I was devastated. I wanted to speak with her mom to let her know how much I loved and respected her daughter and would never do something like that. I was convicted of this when all I wanted was to find a caring church that me and my daughter could be a part of. I stopped going feeling as if I was totally worthless. My family was full of narcissism and treated me like fresh poop. I know God loves me and that he has a plan for me and my family. We're not the undesirables that my family and so many righteous people claim. Now I am so grateful and I all love people even more than before. I show love with actions and encouragement. I moved to another state away from the narcissistic family. I live my life and kids thank me for not allowing my family and righteous people to hurt them. I'm not a member of a church but I do fellowship with different ones. Blessings to you and your family. 🤗🤗🤗

She wants people to stick to her because it covers up her hurt and I look at the preachers who claim she’s holy. I’m like “Now, I know God is not in you because He would’ve told you everything in darkness that she does, and not lied and told you she’s holy because she’s far from it.” I have a brother who is a narccist and is controlling. My older brother is a Bishop and molested his own daughter and step daughter and lied about it. That personality disorder is horrible! Almost makes you want to leave the church! But I also wanted to add something to what you said you talked about how narcissistic, pastors, manipulate and abuse and families. This is far more prevalent than anyone realizes towards individuals. Individuals who have family. Individuals who try to come to the church and to be involved very easily people who just disappear from the church after being very harmed and no one notices they weren’t family. They were just the quiet weird one who was made out to be more awkward than they even were to be ostracized and then just disappear like you never existed From the church is a very painful experience in addition to what they do to you. These type of pastors create a very toxic culture within their churches so thank you for bringing up this topic. I learned a little bit about to go to church relatively new Christian I haven’t been able to figure out why churches weren’t well with mewith me no matter what I did. it’s very painful to be accused and gossip about and no one notices and everyone just agrees and then you disappear and no one notices and to be treated like you’re crazy like something wrong with you. you’re being accused of things that you’re not doing you can’t ever get to the root of what you actually have going on because no one’s perfect but if you’re being accused of a whole bunch of things that aren’t even true, you can’t figure out what’s even wrong really. And then something wrong with you and they ostracize you and you get worse. I don’t even know how to put, but it’s so insidious and sad.

May God use this video to bless the poor sheep feeling isolated and confused at this moment. I pray to my beloved brethren that you may receive comfort today. May God bless you with His peace. 🙏

I've seen it too where gossip is facilitated in order to get people to leave. Then they are painted as sinful or having problems with authority after they parted from the congregation. People who are not informed of the original disagreement are manipulated into shunning and scapegoating the targeted family.

Imagine a system where a hierarchy is established where the person at the top is making unbelievable claims and expecting no questioning, no pushback, no analysis, just blind acceptance of unbelievable ideas. The people unquestionably accept those ideas because they desire answers to questions, community belonging, support, reinforcement of belief, etc. Doesn’t that perfectly set up a situation for a self-obsessed leader likely to abuse that power?

You are So spot on. I personally knew one, almost destroyed a whole community. And he is still manipulating and spinning a web of deceit and lies. He is pure filth.

At 66, knew this at 5 when I discovered poverty. I noticed the opulent church, leaders and all the poor putting into collection plates all they had! We were in church serving, as a family. Mom, wouldn’t listen. She drank the kool-aid.

Thank you for posting this! I just came out of an abusive church I was a part of for 15 years. The pastor was a covert narcissist. He became a pastor at 25 and that set him off as arrogant to begin with. He always said 25 was to young but God was desperate to get correct doctrine into the community. Red flag right there 🚩 but I was only 15 when I started going so I didn’t see the signs.

Any time a church tells you God needs us, it will always be a red flag. I’ve,too, learned this the hard way.

I've had a lot of pastors through the years. Every single one of them was a narcissist. A lot of it has to do with the hierarchical system. The senior pastor out ranks everyone else. They are above everyone else. The hierarchical system is rooted in paganism.

Outside your church sundays, the social events within the faith easily become taken over by narcissists who seek praise and attention for their hosting, prepared foods,,and guard their role viciously to ensure no one else can serve in this way....

Thank you very much for this. I’ve been dealing with Jonathan Kleck. I’ve spend my time trying to warn others over his abuse and lies. He’s tried to destroy my family because of his own “doctrine”. He’s on TH-cam under Cory Barbee channel and on Kleck files. TH-cam has done nothing to help with his abuse toward my family. We have had to file police reports to protect ourselves from his followers that he has whipped into a frenzy to attack us. It’s a long story. Please anyone who reads this warn others!

I wouldn't vent to your pastor/church staff about your personal life/problems. If they're a narc they may blackmail you or gossip to manipulate you or how you feel and/or are viewed by others. Cringy.

19:00 OMG! I almost died earlier this year because I've been stuck in a similar, though different, experience. And no one cared except my youngest son, who is still too young to deal with this. The fact that YOU are dealing with this touches me, and it's somewhat healing. Thanks for expressing this. It's impossible to live well without community support, and you're providing that here so thanks again!

Was sent this video as I'm wrestling with whether to stay with my church, or whether to confront my arrogant pastor and try to find out if he is for God and his people or for himself. As you say, he makes a great show of his doctorate, his self authored books, his clinical psychologist wife, his healing. There's no fellowship but a quick coffee at the end of a boring lengthy sermon by the pastor. He talks about himself EVERY week and collects money. Where is God here? I'm sick of it.

My pastor has since banned me. I asked who he served. Banned from church building. He pushed the Pfizer jab to his congregation. I disputed that.

@@LittleKitty22 he banned me so I've not been there since Sept 2021. He started telling everyone to get the Pfizer jab. Plus always demands money. So I said "Pastor Reg, who do you serve?" Banned me from the building.

Just bc they go to school, earn a diploma… doesn’t mean these people are worthy of leading people, or spiritually connected.
