This is our pastor of nearly 3 years. This year has been the worse because he’s putting out all kind of rules especially on the workers. He recently told men to not wear blue jeans but wear dressy pants. Few people done left because of him. We left this January. I heard from a fellow member recently how shes leaving too because of things he’s said and how the church doesn’t help the needy. When my husband text pastor about wanting apologies for talking about us in his sermons (without giving names but we know he was talking about us) and pastor just writes back making us look like the bad person. He doesn’t care to make things right or be humble. We left this little church after being there faithfully 22 years! We left because pastor wanted my husband to stop working on Sundays. He wanted him to ask to change work schedule but he cant.

We left cause it was more like a cult following. They followed the pastor rather than have a relationship with God.

Very good information to put out guys. Living it right now as a praise and worship leader. Literally everything you describe is what goes on in our church. Praying for God's guidance.

Oh my we left our church because of moving out of state. The pastor of the church we left was not nice behind the scenes. Very nasty wanting to control all minstries in the church sweatshop.

There are plenty of narcissists who are “morally upright” but are manipulative, controlling, demoralising, gaslighting, belittling bullies and that should be a criteria for disqualification from ministry.

Absolutely. All of that you’ve mentioned we just walked away from last weekend. A day after, I get an email saying my family and I have been placed on church discipline. I feel for those who are left behind. It’s almost as if they’ve been programmed to not see reality. God be with them

When we realized that we are in a toxic environment we kept getting pulled back in, this last time when my husband is being judged as decisive when he had a disagreement with some decisions, that was when we knew it is time to move on.
Pray for my husband’s heart to heal and for me too🙏🏼🙏🏼😢💔

I was in an extremely abusive church for 10+ years. The main pastor and preacher was a female who was so cruel and abusive. She would demand loyalty and would isolate us. We would get in trouble for not asking her for permission to do things in our personal lives. She would make fun of people behind closed doors, yelled at us, and punished us for the smallest things. We had to follow her rules and do things her way. She was so different in church vs how she was in real life. She didn’t believe in being accountable to anyone so the abuse went unchecked. We left recently after she was caught stealing word for word preachings from other pastors who are well known. Me and my family were in the core leadership and experienced so much hurt. I haven’t been able to go to church much. I miss it.

Why would you be involved with a church with a female pastor, it goes against the holy scriptures, but I guess you know that now.

Just walked away from it last weekend. An email was sent to me the day after saying that my family and I have been placed on church discipline. I figure whatever helps pads a man’s ministry stats and sounds good to other ministries in connection with them, God will deal with it accordingly.
But keep us updated on how your fight went. Got you in prayer 🙏🏾

What about the churches that create boards with only yes people, and then ensure the same people rotate in the leadership that continue making the same issues. B

A leader cannot give what he or she doesn’t have.

I literally want to cry right now because this is so prevalent and I have been a victim of this for many years. I left 2 churches only to find myself yet in the same situation at the church I presently attend. I want to obey Jesus and I understand what Heb 10:25 says- but where do I go?

Sometimes it’s ok to regroup and heal with God away from triggering environments like church.

Why do you think this is so funny

They don’t. A normal reaction to stressful topics is laughter, which alleviates pressure.
