    I was born in 1960 and I can say without reservation that, YES!!!. They've gone to far beyond most people's price range. The only fix to this problem in my mind would be for the banking agencies to only allow a vehicle to be financed for no more than 48 months. And as an aside. With the cash for clunkers ($8000) to buy a truck really screwed us all. Because it only took the auto industry to raise the process accordingly. Great video guys. 💯👍

      Banking agencies love long term loans, no way they would limit terms it’s how they make money

    • @rwh_
      @rwh_ 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rising regulations, labor costs, development costs, and emissions taxes are pushing the prices up, they are not expensive just because banks are willing to loan on extended terms, in fact extended terms are much more risky for banks bc there’s a higher chance the borrow will default upside down on the loan, and that someone will trade in the vehicle before the loan retires, and the bank will have to continue making payments with interest to the third party they sold the security to

    The new truck market values are 10-15% higher for sure. Dealers are definitely taking advantage of the “shortage”. Only issue I see is when the supply gets fixed(fed raises there rates as well) and this will cause the market to crash and there’s going to be a lot of people under water in there loans. It’s going to be 2008 all over again. 🤷🏼‍♂️

    When shows like this make statements like, "well it's getting old" about proven power trains and working features it purpetuates the increased pricing. The need for creature comforts, that are now expectations, are from the idea that 'old', proven, and reliable are negative words in the truck world. Where 'new', 'modern', and 'upgraded' are the ideals of a truck. Who gets shafted are the hard working people who need their vehicle for their livelihood and are priced out by the status symbol buyers.

    It's over boys, the cost of a new truck is so high that I can only buy used now.... I make over 200,000 per year and with the cost of a home and living expenses, $1500 truck payment is out of the picture in a 2 car family. America 🇺🇸 we are selling ourselves out to the shareholders. They want to get paid more than bank and workers that make the stuff... As you know, can't pay both at the same rate. So with that said, keep your trucks longer and give up Luxury. This year the only full size truck recommended by CP was Ram. All other are spending most of the time and money we give them on recalls and poor materials... TFL is spot on new trucks are for the wealthiest 20% and fools living above their mains. America the rest of us are on hamidowns here on in...

    Full-grain leather simply means that the hair is removed and the hide goes immediately into the tanning process. ... The leather has not been sanded or buffed to remove any marks. The entire thickness of the skin is used. Highest quality products like furniture, footwear and luggage tout full grain.

    The TINY power increase of the Toyota hybrid over the Powerboost is outweighed by the lack of a generator option on the Tundra. The Ford is the powertrain winner here, at least among those two.

    Far too expensive. The manufacturers are using the high per-unit profits to support other, less profitable or non-profitable model lines. Pickup trucks are the college football football teams whose revenue supports fencing, wrestling, swimming, etc.

      Yea i think a lot of people freaked at the way the front end looked initially but to be honest i like it. The capstone in particular looks great.
      I will say the Tundra isn't for me though. I need a truck for hunting, fishing, camping, mild off-roading, and home owner type stuff. The front and rear bumpers on the new Tundra are just not made to go offroad. Again totally fine and looks nice for on road. But they are made of body paneling and will clearly scratch/dent with offroad activity. And the way they designed the bumpers the only way to change them is to cut them off and I'm just not going to do that with a $60k+ vehicle.

    There will always be people who are willing to spend too much money for these trucks. The market will build what the market demands. Dream trucks should stay a dream, if you are taking away from your family, and/or real life goals to get one, but living the American dream is alive and well with trucks.

There's going to be a point where these car companies are going to go bust. The people that are buying them at these prices are people that have inherited a lot of money I never had to work for it so they don't care.

    I do think it's silly, here's why. Is the good 'ol Pentistar more engine than 99% of truck owners will ever need? Absolutely. Better on gas, less maintenance, still tows LOTS. But they still buy the Hemi and complain about lifter tick. Saying "I need the hemi my truck is a tool" but may never use the capabilities. I understand "Luxury" and "Tools" generally are opposites. But I would argue most buyers want a truck to do truck things. But want the Luxury, as they never really do truck things. I think the bigger problem is more about reliability. After trucks from something like 2002, you rarely see a truck over 10 years old still on the road. For example, manufacturers will say "We designed the transmission to last the life of the truck". But they don't tell you, is they are the ones to determine what they think that "life" is. And build the truck to last that long, not necessarily longer. Get your tin foil hats ready, it literally is planned obsolescence. You spend $100k on a Porsche, you can more or less keep that car forever, they will support it, and it's potentially worth keeping and spending the money to fix when it breaks down. You spend $100k on a luxury truck, front end goes, transmission falls out, rear-end blows, and it rusts from under you. Disposable. (Obviously if you take good care of it, it can last, as anything can)

    • @user-tb7rn1il3q
      @user-tb7rn1il3q 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Porsche is the disposable vehicle. It depreciates faster than a stock market crash. Pickup Trucks can be rebuilt and hold value over time.

    Your vehicle should never cost more than 15% of your annual income unless you have no mortgage payments. No responsible adult be spending this much on a truck unless it's a work truck used for providing income. Most people unfortunately get 60-70 mo loans and the vehicle is worn out by the time it's paid off. Unless you make 350k in a low cost of living area, you should only be purchasing 7 yr old reliable vehicles at this rate.

    • @user-tb7rn1il3q
      @user-tb7rn1il3q 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If people followed your advice the economy would collapse. Everyone’s situation is different. Vehicles do not depreciate like they used to. You contradicted yourself. You are telling people that cars are worn out after 5-6 years and at the same time telling people to buy 7 year old “reliable” vehicles. Reliability is very subjective and certainly not guaranteed. I guess renters and people who own outright can spend anything they want on a car since they have no mortgage payments.

      $80-90k for a luxury vehicle, especially one with utility, is a bargain. Trucks depreciate much more slowly than sedans. A $90k truck loses value more slowly than a $50k German luxury sedan.

    15 years ago trucks were built for people that use trucks the way trucks were intended. Nowadays since they get better mpg, people are buying trucks as just a vehicle and don’t use them as a truck so they want all the luxury items so of course with new technology prices will continue to go up. I’ve owned both a lariat and xlt and my opinion lariat is a waste of money. Also, good luck trying to get a v8 in a half ton in a few years they’ll probably be obsolete.
