Now if Ford would stop selling 10-20k over sticker we would all be happy
My local dealer only does MSRP.
They do it because people are dumb enough to buy it. Let them suffer for 1 year, no one buys and people make it clear that no matter how good the product is that they aren't fools with a pen.
Before they shut their doors and need to sell below sticker price then we can all rush in and buy it to make sure they don't go bankrupt.
Yeah, that's not up to the manufacturer really. Those markups are happening at the dealer level. So, in this case, it isn't Ford doing it, it's the dealerships. This very thing is part of the reason that manufacturers, such as Ford, are looking hard into changing the dynamic between manufacturer, dealer, and customer. Possibly including cutting out dealerships entirely. It remains to be seen how that all shakes out in the end.
@@crewdawg2008 exactly, but till then, I'd be for unitedly not buying then the manufacturer will have the power to say to their dealers how bad they are and shut them down. Sadly the dealers have been holding the manufacturer in a leash, in my opinion ofc, when it should be the other way around. It be the buyers strike hahahaha.
I'd wish to buy a ranger raptor to overland, the prices are already going to be insane in canada where I am. Now your saying I got to deal with riddiculous price mark ups from the dealer for a depreciating asset!? Please make it make sense.

I remember my first time at the Chicago Auto Show. I still have the picture of me in the 1794 Tundra when it was brand new. Also Jeep had wranglers and grand cherokees going on an offroad course indoors. This was 2012 or 13 I believe

I used to love Nissan back in The 90's when I was in college. I wish Renault would sell them to a Japanese company and that they would become a reliable company again...Mitsubishi used to be a cool company as well. My roommate had a 3000GT VR4 and I loved that car. It was the height of cool in the 90's...

You guys are right about the car shows becoming a dying breed. I just attended the Philadelphia auto show and was shocked by how many brands were not there. No Audi, Porsche, Mercedes, Acura, Lincoln, Volvo, Mazda, Hyundai, Infiniti, or Cadillac 🙄
No Ford trucks on display.. I'd be outta there! Or any emphasis on 4wd trucks. Just sayin. -NY

I remembered going to that car show in the early 90’s with my parents. It was on Lincoln’s birthday. I remembered getting into a Geo Metro convertible in yellow. I wanted to go inside of a Geo Tracker but, a lots of teens or early 20’s climbing in and out. I did see a lot of cars, vans, and trucks. I had a blast with my parents for it.
Perhaps the one thing I enjoyed was actual ford factory workers working the exhibit booths…spoke to a couple who work on the Lightning. I learned that they assemble about 70-80 lightning trucks a day and takes between 20-24 hours to assemble one. Lightning spends 5 minutes 30 seconds per station whereas the normal F150 spends 53 seconds at each station…the daily record is 88 Lightning trucks assembled in one day.

'Work trucks' are expensive too...
Some people are still stuck in the past as far as vehicle weights and towing. Took my 5th wheel in for service and was told I can't be towing that weight with A 2500. Told him to put it on the scale. The rv fully loaded with a full tank of gas and was well within weight
Fun fact for anyone thinking about swapping cabs between trucks, they're dimensionally similar but there is difference in structure to handle the higher weight of the heavy duties in the roof and pillar structure... However, doors would be no problem.

Your Super Truck Bowl should have a Gen 1 Roush Raptor in it. The 2013-2014 Roush Raptors were Roush supercharged 6.2L.
People are headed to economic exhaustion when confronted by ever-increasing prices. Manufacturers are blind to the economics of working people. No one believes it's a work truck with a 60k price.

Looked at it & went w/ '22 Ranger Tremor. No regrets. Amazing truck. Hard to find! Had to order it took 3mos but they took care of me. All midsized trucks are excellent the Ranger just suited me best.

@swami539 Absolutely 💯 correct. All are very good. The Gen2 TGDI powertrain in Ranger is amazing /Dana axles. Very overbuilt. That 2.3L is so far from stressed at 275hp its crazy. They getting 360hp w/Ford performance sanctioned power pak. Tho as ya said great time to buy new midsized trucks!

Thanks for going to the show, I wish I could have attended. Since I don't fit in any modern "car", I am only interested in trucks. You guys covered most of the stuff I am interested in. Roman, you were spot on regarding the Tacoma. Toyota only had two 4Runners-the 40th Anniversary and an SR5…no TRD models of any type at all!

The automotive industry just needs to slow down and put new stuff on pause for a minute.
Between the Honda plant I worked at and the Ford plant nearby, there are probably 10,000 vehicles sitting outside on site and in several remote locations, all waiting for chips.
That being said, Toyota totally needs to work with Suzuki and turn the new Jimny into the new FJ.

This is one of the best informational automotive videos I have seen to date on the internet. I have a 2015 Mercedes-Benz gl550 twin turbo. My engine looks identical to the vehicle in your video. Lately I have been getting an intermittent check engine light. I took my vehicle to the local auto parts store and had them code read my vehicle. The code showed that ignition coil G is malfunctioning. I want to replace this myself because of the insane cost at the dealership. Is it necessary to disconnect the battery to replace the ignition coil? I saw in previous videos that disconnecting the battery in Mercedes-Benz completely wipes all of the codes, but there's a code saving tool that can be connected to save the codes.
LOVE the new Frontier look! Nissan, PLEASE make an off-road (lifted) version of the Pathfinder or offer lift kits for purchase.

Lived in Chicago in the 80s.. never missed the Chicago show .. Car shows in California is not as elaborate as Chicago and Detroit….
Love the information and you guys work well together. One suggestion is have the camera guy show more of the truck while hearing you guys talk. Not that we shouldn’t see you guys at all but it’s about the trucks, that’s what we want to see! Get in there and show the interiors too!

I've got the Custom trim model, pretty much stripped but,what sold it was the BLACKED OUT VERSION.
Same silver color w no chrome.
Only complaint, since I got custom trim, the Suspension isn't good compared to the Z71/ High Country.
I've got 8k miles, Oil change intervals are 15k/or 1yr whatever comes first.
I upgraded to Lasfit LED LED lights the whole complete package and what a GREAT upgrade difference it made.
I will be leveling the truck and upgrading to Bilstein shocks .
I can totally stand behind "Donuts and Vodka"!!!!

The dealership mark up in Northeast Texas on the Ford Lightening is insane. A low range lariat is going for $80k. Some are $88k
Because cows with no brains, but flush with oil money, are buying them.
You don't need a CDL to drive your personal truck, case in point farmers can drive their own loaded grain trucks WITHOUT a CDL. As long as it is your personal truck you are NOT required to have a CDL.

I have a 2020 F 250 xl for sale. I ordered the 2023 xlt and its almost shipped. I got the single cab long bed with 7.3 2-wheel drive. STX package for sale. This combination is not available anymore. You can only get the 7.3 with xlt or better.
The seats lay back so you can nap while waiting for the tow truck. 😁
great review of the show, you two are simply the best in the business. As an older truck buyer, I would love to see the two of you do a show that examines explicitly the luxury truck market (platinum, limited, Denali, etc.). I think this category is a really important market full of motivated buyers that are quietly driving pricing and should not be overlooked in today's economy. I would also love to see your recommendations for the top three luxury trucks and please keep doing what you're doing! Ray!

The prices for these trucks are too insane… I’m not about to be dropping over $70k for a base level work truck. Miss when cars and trucks were still $20k-$45k new. I’d rather buy a 2015 used truck for like $16k and then through another $1000-$2000 at it to do aftermarket upgrades

Honest question....why do so many half tons with really short beds on lots? Are they used for towing? I can't seem to get by with anything less than 6 feet. Even on my 04 Ranger. Glad to see Toyota still offers Tacoma with a 6 foot bed. Nice video.

I tried ordering online at Ford and could not find this vehicle’s options. It gives you the xl/xlt grill if you want the black appearance package and did not see these wheels.
