A testimony is one of the best gifts I've been given. It can't be bought, it can't be replicated, and it can't be stolen. Truly, the beauty of having a testimony in my experience is that it helps me remember my Father's love and the Savior's sacrifice.

If it can’t be stolen, then why are the Q15 so adamant that members distance themselves from people who don’t believe everything they say and have definitive proof that they’re lying about a great many things?

Our testimonies of Jesus Christ are like our skin, which cover our bodies, to help us to not freeze to death, or to prevent terrible infections. Likewise a strong testimony of Christ, can help prevent terrible spiritual suffering, and regret! Also like skin, the atonement of Jesus Christ "covers us."

Maybe we make a distinction between faith in the Savior and faith in men. Members of the church have lost that…they blindly grant a presupposition of virtue to men who hide objective AND divine truth.

According to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, contrasting provided truths with its opposite can help reveal what is hidden in plain view. It can also help people realize that they know more than they thought they did.
Consider this insightful statement from the Prophet Joseph Smith: “By proving contraries, truth is made manifest.” And this one from Brigham Young: “All facts are proved and made manifest by their opposite".

@brijsmi072 and in Jacob 2, we can read that the word of God is intended to be plain and simple to understand and later on at verse 27 how it's not just a sin but an abomination to have more than one wife, period 👍 so...referring back to my original comment as a tool...we learn that both of these -- what you shared and what we learn from Jacob -- both cannot the occupy the same area called truth. Either one is correct or both are incorrect. And by the spirit we are promised to know the truth of ALL things-- whether they be correct or very amiss and revealing. God's truths are built on rock solid foundations which cannot be changed or shifted and would break the hammer of any who'd try to smash it. Those things which are untrue are clearly untrue and take on the attributes of having as many reasons for their whys as there are in a foundation made of sand. Thank you so. Much for sharing ❤ 🙏 Having questions and bringing these paradoxes out for discussion and calling them out as they are, are truly a part of the ongoing restoration. Live the gospel as the rich young ruler failed to do -- as if you had nothing to lose, but rather do what is right and let the consequences follow, counting it all for joy 🙏
