I have learned to tell people to do as I do not as I say, this helps hold me accountable to make sure my actions speak louder than my words and helps me CTR!
Now, as my family distances ourselves from the church, not because of a lack of faith in the Savior, but because of the modern church itself…it is disheartening to see our neighbors distance themselves with us. They see us as non-members, and that would be one thing…but because of our reasoning, they see us as non-members who won’t be active members. So…what’s the point, then, right?
That hurts and I grieve with you. Continue to show the Christlike love you value, even when your neighbors don't. Let your light continue to shine, even if your candle is different than theirs.
I would suggest that you listen to Elder Bednar's talk on pride. It's always easy to see others as the problem. Never let the actions of others be an excuse to do wrong.
separating yourself from the church is frequently used as a statement of “I don’t want you people to contact me anymore.” if that’s not your intent, you might want to let them know that! they may think they’re respecting your wishes by leaving you alone, not knowing that you want to stay in touch!
@@russelllewis5852 What wrong am I doing, pray tell? I used to hold adamantly to that same PRIDEFUL notion…that any time anyone leaves the church, it MUST be for wrongdoing. Isn’t it odd that the church specifically tells people not to engage with people who use documentation, logic, and a focus on The Savior (instead of the temple and prophets) as their reason for leaving. What exactly are they afraid of? It must be a very fragile truth, indeed, if it can’t stand scrutiny in the light of day.

It is hard but I know that loving others like the Savior can really make a difference in someone else's day as well as yourself. It's really not that hard.
I love that balance was highlighted. I think my biggest struggle is finding balance in life.
Great message! I know that Jesus Christ lives and loves you and loves me!

We need to look at others as we want our Father to look apond us. It's what is in our hearts that matters ♥️
