- When you go to the Greek and Latin roots of the words Complexity and Complicated, Complicated is to fold and if you fold something, you can unfold it. Complex is to entangle and you can't untangle something once it's entangled. So complexity is a very different way of thinking.
The way we make decisions is we scan about 3-5% of the available data. That's the most you'll take account of and it triggers a series of memories, cognitive memories, physical memories and social memories through stories of things we've heard from other people. We blend those together and the first blended pattern which fits, we apply. So based on a very partial data scan we basically do a first fit pattern match and we act accordingly.
The good news of this, is there are huge opportunities out there waiting to be discovered but we don't see them because we do not see what we do not expect to see. So the process actually matters you can have the most gifted leaders, the most motivated people and the best mindsets, but the reality is if you haven't built a body of methods and tools and process, you will not survive as an organization. And, in complexity, how people connect is far more important than what they are.

Time 32:27 “we have to have friction so we can feel things so we can touch them to know how they are…” this is more in line with the USMC attributed heuristic “seize the high ground, stay in contact, keep moving” as opposed to Snowden’s maladapted distorted recollection of said heuristic with “seize the high ground, stay in touch, keep moving.” To a marine, contact means engagement with the enemy thus “touching” getting a feel for at least some of what the enemy is doing. Contact does not mean communicate.
Time 12:00 - 14:00 sounds like a resounding endorsement for restrictive / prohibitive rule sets over approval or authorizing mindsets as well as resonating with John Boyd Mission Command.

What happens when the whole field of changeable constraints (left of the counterfactual line in minute 44) is populated with hexa-complex systems (from minute 48) and, given time, the whole field of complex systems rearranges itself to become one energetically optimally rationed oscillatory machine balancing its efficiency and effectiveness - what happens when this field becomes one giant global coherent bee-hive?

Malkovich sens-making, endless variations of individual stories on a Malkovich theme (or by Malkovich triplets of all ages and professions), Malkovich experimenting, Malkovich experiences, Malkovich visions of the future, Malkovich innovations, Malkovich rearrangements, Malkovich l'art pour l'art, Malkovich-Malkovich of well-being initiatives buzzing all around and endless internal Malkovich-Malkovich monologue flow inside people's heads. Constantly buzzing and dancing, moving the bar of work-time continuum, but ultimately unable to break through the counterfactual line.
What happens if/when this global hexa-hive realizes that true (non systematized) incoherence is the way to go forward or the way to simply be, that non-bee is the only guarantor for true (non simulated) emergence?. What if all our emergent properties currently held by our consciousness (emergences of our past life experience on the planet, from protozoa onward) are actually the pinnacle of conscious achievement? What if diligent honey-gathering in The next million years will emerge only the Nothingness, gaping hole inside every atom of our body, loosing spin and hollowing us from the inside out?

Have you had a read of “Colonel Ned Stark” aka Jason Lamb? How about looked at Simon Sinek’s Performance versus Trust?
