Now that was a really COOL build. Utilizing parts from a old riding mower, car hood latch, and steering from a old folks scooter was engenius. 👍👍 I followed every aspect of the build and was really pleased to see the outcome. Good job !

This is the reason I look forward to trash day and picking up things that can be repurposed into other projects. My wife absolutely hates this about me :-)
This guy is a great fabricator, he needs to Pattin and market these well-built walks behind hand dump trucks it should last forever other than the motor mount, if you need to change it. One more thing i would have use a Briggs and Straten V- twin 22-24 horsepower as the dump is very heavy and a bigger motor would be better. The belt ten system seems to be in the wrong place. I have a 24-HP V-Twin with 850 hours on it's, yes, I always change to oil at 50 hours with a new filter with straight weight 10-40 oil in the summer. It's on my lawn mower Craftsmen 2009
Wife: Tom, I just asked you to move the rocks away from the garden. Him: but I can move so many rocks now! Wife: there’s 10 rocks for god’s sake, this took you two months to build! *scoots away on his sick new dumper*
106 people don't like it why for gods sake me it takes me all my time to find a star screw driver ... I don't think the 106 people are watching the same video as me im with the 3.500 who thumbs up and subbed great job
It's hard to hit the tastes of all people, but I'm glad that such a large group of viewers like the project and I hope that the film will facilitate the construction of such or better project :) Thank you :)
Not to negate what you built, which is pretty cool. Not terribly difficult but time consuming. Wouldn't it easier to start with an old riding lawn mower/chassis? It already has the engine/transaxle, turning axles in place. Simply add reinforcements, a dump box and reconfigure the steering linkage and shifter mechanisms.
I have a riding mower. Looking at the frame, it's made of relatively light C-channel. I don't think it can support 600+ lbs on a dump bucket. If he's going to beef it up with reinforcements he might just as well start from scratch. My mower has the 24 hp engine in front, transaxle in back so that configuraton wouldn't work. Those with the eninge in back are light duty mowers and adapting that design might be better. You can have a seat over the engine and the dump bucket in front.
A very nice and useful build! I built a similar mini dumper using my 46" zero-turn 23 HP mower for main propulsion, I used a wheelbarrow tub I bought at Menards for the hopper and fabricated a frame and pivot point for the tub. I can quickly remove install or remove the tub when need to mow the grass or vice versa in a few minutes and the tub stores conveniently hanging on the garage wall when not needed, saving space I don't have on the floor. I believe I will fabricate a hopper like yours since it's made much sturdier metal. I can pick maybe 1/4 of a tub load of loose materials just by pushing into the pile but it's hard on the light metal tub. Thanks for the new ideas! Also, I install 4 ply tires on the front casters I got at Tractor Supply just in case, plus I need new ones anyway.
Thank you very much :) Soon I will build another mini dumper, which I promised my brother-in-law, and there I will try to make a hydraulic dumper. I have to admit that hydraulic pump and cylinder systems are alien to me, so I have to get knowledge to build it :) But I will certainly publish a video of construction :)
@@WorkshopFromScratch If you check out Mike Festiva channal th-cam.com/video/UiR_EGeu8ho/w-d-xo.html it will give you an idear how to go about it, hope he doesn't mind me sharing this, you will find it easy to do!! keep up the good work.
The construktion could be improved but it would take much longer to build and I needed the mini dumper as soon as possible. I will definitely build another mini dumper much better :) Thank you :)
@@WorkshopFromScratch I think the pivot for the dumping could be a bit more load centered and add a catch to release to dump itself. No need for all the options though it would really be cool. The "next time" would be the top of the line model available with all the bells and whistles. ;) Others commented on messing up the paint. I am that way too that is why I don't buy a new pick-up truck. Along those lines if you really want to add value and longevity coat the inside of the dump with Rhino liner then there would be three options to choose from. Wow! This was quite a well thought out design and build you did here. I hope you carried a smile as you drove around.
Seeing the hydrostatic control lever arrangement at the end... I think the push-bar arrangement on self propelled lawn mowers would be a perfect setup for that particular control. Maybe even using the squeeze-handle from one of those assemblies to tension/slack the drive belt so that the drive system loses power when it loses its driver.

Change the oil in the hydrostatic transmission with 0W-50 (or 5W-50) Mobil 1, and that whine will be gone...and it will save the pump from burning up Such an incredible build...built by stuff you built to build other things! AWESOME! Oh and if you open up that hydrostatic transmission...you can weld the spider gear and make it positraction so it won't lose motive force if one wheel raises up due to terrain (there are tons of youtube videos showing how to do that)
I spilled oil from the gears when I started working on the mini dumper, when I was finished building I poured new oil, the pump began to howl, apparently it was filled with air, because when it was working a little, it was quiet. Thank you 😁
Awesome build and I loved the fast paced edit. I would also enjoy the build noise a little more without the music. In the beauty shots and final usage shots it's fine, but welding, grinding and drilling sound better without it. I also confused with Made In Poland at first

You're lucky those wheels came off so easy. I had to disassemble my tuff torque transmission and take the axles to a machine shop with a huge hydraulic press to get the wheels removed. Be sure to grease the axles and inside the wheels before putting them back on and remove and grease once a year to avoid problems down the road.
