Damn I love the Fear Factory sound... its so freaking in your face cutting sound. That sound and the sound from Cowboys from Hell brings so many memories. I was a 15 year old with an yellow Ibanez Jem, Digitech multieffect and a Peavey amp and playing in a small garage with friends... these were good times.
I was a 15 year old with a black epiphone SG 310 and a Boss MG-2, played through a Roland 10w amp. FF blew my mind back when Demanufacture was released. KMFDM and had some seriously good guitar as well.
This was a day 1 purchase for me haha. Not only can you get close to a lot of his exact tones over the years (if you are into that), but you can also create unique tones easily as well. This sim is also way ahead of the curve with many of its new features. The fact that the intro price was a lot lower than most competitors options was an added bonus lol. Btw he used a very modded JCM 800 for most of his original tracks. That’s what the “Replica” amp is. Nice demo man.
I'm gonna' be one of those rare guys who loves the Mechanize tone, the old stuff is still fantastic don't get me wrong, but that Mech tone just fucking hammers.

I saw a video in which Dino said he used to practice guitar with ankle weights around his right arm to get more power and tightness, when he was younger. It seems to have paid off.
I just bought a positive grid 2 amp and the app is mind blowing. I literally asked the voice prompt for a Dino Cazares tone and found dozens that match different albums surprisingly well. The third one down is absolutely awesome and has a VERY similar crunch to the Demanufacture tone.
That replica amp is based on Dino's own modified Marshall, which was stolen more than 20 years ago and recovered and restored recently. It's the amp of the legendary Demanufacture album.
This plugin is beast mode for sure and u can still use impulse responses def sounds like ff and gate works without having to do a lot of gain staging which needs done still but I've used every damn guitar plugin and this is just so easy to get the sound u want without much fucking around very nice.
There's a list of Dino Cazares presets on the Neural Cali Suite, I bought it (and chose over the Gojira suite in the process) for the way those sound alone. I'm not even a FF fanboi, but holy shit... I was never able to get a tone I liked as much as that from the NTS and Granophyre suites when I tried them for the same brief window of time, either. Dis sounding gud too!

Just listened to Fear Factory for the second time in my life (I'm 35) and personally I find the tone on the first album being the impressive one, especially for 1992 and for being a modded jcm800 (even tho I know of all the production trickery) despite everyone else says the Demanufacture tone is the revered one.
Just imagine a Dino Cazares Solar sig. One humbucker Type A sevenstring. Side dots or No inlays. Binding on neck and headstock. Floyd or fixed bridge. Much better looking than his Ormsby and closer to his old Ibanez US Customs.

The super tight brutal chugging of Dino's playing is a huge influence on my own playing.
