My take: A certain movie is coming out today, and it doesn't do justice to who Marilyn was, not what, but who. The sensitivity of the creator of this video is authentic and definitely does not treat an actress as an object, but as a person: complex, passionate, emotionally lacking, sometimes innocent and sometimes not. But above all with fear, fear of not being loved. And in my opinion there are still people who are not loving her as a human being. I hope I made myself understood, both Norma Jean and Marilyn deserve respect, that's all I want to say.
And that movie was a whole direspect for her soul and life. I think people and movie industry gotta let she rest in peace anymore. She never deserved be symbolised and won't...
She might have had a very sad life, but that doesn’t define a person. She had fun, she loved the camera, she had friends that didn’t use her, she enjoyed music and literature, and she always thirsted to be greater. Even before she died, she had good moments and good conversations with people she loved like her former stepson DiMaggio Jr. I’m done trying to know what happened that night, no matter what it was that killed her, it’s tragic any way you look at it. But the biggest tragedy was how people treated her, and sadly that never seems to end. She will be exploited until the end of time.

She said she loved people. Coming out of her apartment in NYC, she said she loved talking to all the garbage man and considered it an "honor" she was a very humble person. success and fame didn't change her.
She was so beautiful and talented. I don’t care what people say about her. She inspired so many girls all round the world. She was the epitome of “blond girls are not dumb as the myth says”. I adore her till this day! 🖤
She not only inspired women but also men. I have been so captivated by Marilyn and the sad life she had. I enjoy the movies she gave us but had such a fascinating yet heartbreaking insight into the potential range she was aching to let out. I was illustrating Marilyn during Lockdown and I had not really took notice of the songs she gave us at the time. As I listened to each song whilst I was illustrating, I melted. I felt she was singing at me. For an icon to still have this effect over millions to this day is extraordinary. I'm so glad we have the material from her voice, her movies and especially the many photographs that still bestow merchandise and social media today. What a legacy and I am proud to be a fan. So heartbreaking and tragic what happened to Marilyn. She had so much to give and was so unloved. ❤⭐👄
“I can be smart when it’s important. But most men don’t like it.” Shit hurt. Imagine living in a world like that. Update: this definitely still applies to our ‘modern’ world. This is why girls must support girls.
There's something about Marilyn Monroe that people have a connection to, it's like she had REAL magic inside of her that sparked the world. It's like one of Monroe's friend's said, when they were outside, Marilyn had a scarf wrapped round her hair and two curls of hair on her forehead, nobody knew it was her. Then all of a sudden cars screeched, people stopped in shock and Marilyn turned to her friend and said "You know what i did there, didn't you?" It's like she could turn into Marilyn whenever she wanted, and have people notice. That's a true actress, someone who an switch the personality and actually be that character. Marilyn is wonderful and still stuns the world with her beauty and glamour, but people were sadly loving someone she wasn't. I wish someone truly understood this poor soul.
I have seen a video which documents some of her early life and who she actually was. She was an orphan surprisingly enough and a book worm, she died too soon, she deserved a longer life to actually show her true self and for us to know her more
Yes. Some say she was an MK mind-controlled sex slave that was broken in childhood to be remolded as an adult to influence people towards immoral Behavior. Of course we loved her she was a true pioneer. But she was broken. So sad the way the devil exploited her in her death. I prayed that God took her soul in her final moments Cayenne
Marilyn Monroe was not just a "beauty" people loved her charm, charisma and her soul. Yes, her looks played a huge role in how she was perceived but there was more to her then good looks alone.
Logan Blake Tbh, it's kinda unknown how Marilyn died, some say suicide, some say accidental and some even say murder.. and to be honest, I believe she was murdered, she was quite troubled with a lot of important figures such as the government and the Kennedy brothers, and she was known of planning her future that year, planning for better success, roles. But you're right, she needed someone to hold her and tell her they were there for her, but she was so lonely and wasn't loved for being herself, the world was loving someone she was not..
She can be. But let's face it, it's her physical attraction that pulls you in first. And no matter what she does on camera, you are just pulled in completely. You watch no one else on the screen when she is in a scene. The camera does not capture that in most people. It is that special magic only certain people have and no one can really explain it. But seeing beyond that, I also think she was a great actress. She never got a lot of credit for that, but looking back on her pictures now (I was young when she died) I am amazed by her. But you are right in only being known as a sex symbol for the most part, she doesn't get the recognition for everything else she was and more. And this was a great video. Great movie cuts. Brought out many emotions in me from sadness to smiling.
Teresa Gib you're absolutely right. I noticed when I saw her cameo in All About Eve. She was so very young, and the part so small - two or three lines as a dumb blonde party guest - that I didn't recognized her, but I didn't paid attention to anyone but her as long as she was on screen, I totally missed the plot development. and it means everything if you can make someone ignore Mrs Bette Davis rant just by being a nobody, standing there, looking cute and sparkling and youthful. I thought she reminded me of Marilyn Monroe lol, then I checked the credits and there she was.

She had more reason to hate people in her all too short life than most people who ever lived and yet didn't have a bad bone in her body. Truly an angel.
She lived such a sad life. Ever since she was a little girl, she never felt love, was abused constantly. She grew up without a mother o a father and was always blamed for being abused. That is what she knew, that is a way in which she felt comfort. You cannot blame a person for wanting to feel loved. Even though she was idolized by millions, she felt so alone. I have been doing research on her for about four years now and I can tell you that she was such a smart young woman who was just taken advantage of her whole life. This video brought me to tears.

The only insightful comment under this video is you. She was publicly murdered on live T.V... My mother accidentally saw it on T.V. back in 1962 which has not been reaired. The files of her death were declassified almost 20 years ago and it's still an open case. The internet has become a bigger place now, but those files should still be on the internet somewhere if you have the time to look.

Logan Blake same
"I can be smart when its important, but most men don't like it". she was and is one of the greatest beauty icons.
Nathan Alexander why does it just have to be a beauty icon why cant she be a smart icon or a independent icon

She lived such a sad life. Ever since she was a little girl, she never felt love, was abused constantly. She grew up without a mother o a father and was always blamed for being abused. This video made me realised how society failed someone, and many more after her
TH-cam Sings! , It wasn't "society"
Dilly Dally it was society because back then women were expected to get married have children look after the house and cook. They were underestimated because it was a patriarchy society which means men where dominants. Marilyn was often cased as the" dumb blond" even though she wasn't,'dumb' she was bright but men didn't like women with "smart mouths". If a man just let his wife of girlfriends mouth just run wild then people would say thing about him and how he can't "control" his woman. Behind all the movies and films the 1960s was a sexist society which was one of the reason for marilyn to commit suicide.
Ava Michelson True but so sad
Ava Michelson society was fucked up back then.... Marilyn was too messed up that she needed comfort of men to fill her void
