Marilyn was undoubtedly one of cinema's most beautiful stars, and my personal favorite. But, she didn't take care of herself at all. It came home to roost in her last year of life when at only 35 she'd had gallbladder removal, and subsequent nasty scaring to her famous figure, and age-liver spots starting to show, especially on her hands. Her face was also showing a major change. She should have looked virtually unchanged from her "Niagara" look in 1953, but by 1962 she was a different woman at only 35.
I have her immortalized in a Bert Stern #278 Limited edition "Laughing rhinestones" signed by Bert Stern. Also a Bert Stern autograph on one called "Mesmerized".. Her eyes were my attraction..
