We took this route today on our return trip from the summit. Unfortunately we missed the arrow at 12:40 and continued the way your companion was heading. It became such a narrow path that we were hanging on for dear life to up to a point where could clamber up the bolders to the original path. Jesus that shook me up. We made it back but an experience I will not forget
Lovely video I've walked it several times from 1988 on my honeymoon, we honeymooned in Rosthwaite and with our two lads who loved it. My eldest lad, now 30, is still walking up there. Timeless. Thankyou!
iv you love scrambling then id suggest going up snowdon via crib goch, Tryfan via north ridge, the Glyders via devils kitchen or Striding/Swiral Edge in Helvyln. am looking to go back to Scafell pike ideally want to do the corridor path when its snowing
The Corridor route takes you up to Lingmell Col then meets the tourist route up to the summit you were slightly off piste but I have been up that way myself.
I agree with you! We always continued upto Lingmell col and then turned left up to the summit!👍 That looked a much more strenuous route and more hazardous, I wouldn’t recommend it!
Thanks James. Tread careful and you’ll be fine. Perhaps looks a little more scary on camera than in real life! Very enjoyable and hope you feel the same. Enjoy
Hi and thank you. Regarding your question, no, there are far easier routes up. The classic route is nicely stepped and offers a far easier climb. Have fun
@@byeck63 Oww I know that. I’m just wondering how much it will be needed to navigate on the day or will we be able to figure out the route with out it in good conditions. How did you find the climb?
In the next month I think you will be able to follow the line of other people doing the same route! It’s a very established route. Have fun. Will be doing it myself next week.
I would say a map is a good idea, easy enough to navigate without compass from recognisable points/peaks. There’s lots of other people on the same route so you’ll find your way easy should you not take one though. Have fun
Walked today, definitely harder than I thought , very ateep. I took probably 20 breaks 😀, was well worth it. Well done to all who made it. Great video

@@tensago Jeez!! Yeah from what I’ve been told, it does get a tad dangerous that way. Glad you returned safely! Well done

A few years ago maybe 12 years we found a bottle of whiskey in the box and we had a welcome drink in the snow
Haha! fair play. Warmed the cockles, I'm sure!
@ it was gone next time I went , always thought someone left for MTR guys

Corridor Route is not easy. I also think that Scafell Pike by the easier route is harder than the easier routes up Snowdon or Ben Nevis.
Great video. Definitely will help me prepare for it when I finally attempt it. Thanks
Some of those drops 🤢
Thanks James.

Good video, thanks.
Thank you Bodger
Great video, thanks for sharing. Hoping to do this next year having just done Snowdon. Is the scramble as challenging as it looks for first-timers?

I’d never drink while hiking at that level - asking for trouble. Even one drink will slow your reflexes if you slip.
Doing this climb in about 24 hours 🤞
How did it go?

Really good! Tiring but worth it, that first vertical climb up to the waterfall is really rough 🤣
I’m planning on hiking this route next month. Do I really need a map and compass? how easy is it to find the trail? Thanks
It’s always a good idea to take an OS map and compass. It could save your life.

I thought the climb would be a well defined path throughout. Obviously not!
Me too. However, there are ways that are easier. Enjoy
How long did it took to go up?
Just under 8 hours. Although the Wasdale route is much quicker I believe.
