In these videos a 9.5ft 5wt £10 no frills with the rounded handle grip at the top, which has landed loads of big fish and a sigma 10ft 7wt thick top, which cost about £40. No need to spend ££££ on named rods as my rods get bashed about, the trout don't care what's in your hand it's the fly they are bothered about. Thanks for watching Regards MD
@@bradhorner1358 Start of with a 5wt 9.5ft gives you a bit of flex, 7wt can be stiff and you don't get the motion you need to lob the fly out. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/264926098881?hash=item3daed375c1:g:EgUAAOSw5eBfeiZz same make as my rod except my one is a 7wt

Going to tie some shammies later today… looks like a great concept… You just had to be referring to Testwood… it’s on my bucket list, but I think I’d be in trouble with my good lady if I went there… tight lines…
@@mdflyfishinguk5220 tied about a dozen, different thread colours, can’t wait to try them now, I’m going to let the waters cool down a bit though… too much stress on the fish, too much risk to the fisheries in this heat, we have a few down here who have closed some of the lakes to protect their stocks, Stay safe…
Well worth a try, going to fish them at a water in south yorkshire this weekend along with some white squirmy worms, think the trout like them more than the red ones. Thanks for watching and the comment Regards MD
Had a suspicion it might’ve been the Chammy work, MD. They’re getting a go next week. Regards the length of the Vids, longer the better as far as I’m concerned 😂. I’d watch an hour long one. And In terms of price, you absolutely get what you pay for. I usually paid £20-25 for a days fishing and Pennine is probably a tenner more expense but worth every penny, just for the realistic chance at a double or a 20lb. Last week was my 4th time and I’ve had a PB rainbow, a PB brown and my first ever blue which was 5lb. Pennine is now my go to water. It’s an hour there and an hour back but I’m there all day, 8-5. Cracking place
Here's the thing. Same happened to me with regards to the pin dropping out of the Rover net head assembly. Only 1hour in and ping , off shot the head. Had to land each fish with just the pan head and nearly came a cropper a few times from going in head first. Learnt my lesson. I always have a spare net just in case . As for the pins , a drop of lock-/ tight ( super glue for metal ) or even UV resin. You need to keep inspecting the area as chucking the net down , opening and closing can cause the pin to work its way out. It's a curve ball you don't need. Anyhow , keep the videos of coming. Tight lines
I now have 2 rover nets and 1 Salmon net . All Wychwood with the same type of pin set up. Moved over to a Mclean round head flip net. Twice the price ,but not failed me yet @@mdflyfishinguk5220
Can i ask why you pull the line through your hand when fishing a still water ? I understand doing it when on a river to make the fly look like its moving in the current complete novice here good video thankyou ill be subscribing
Hi unlike some people who fish with a bung, which requires the fly fished static. I tend to fish flies that require a little movement in the water, so to mimic this i pull the line. 4inch, 6inch at a time or even a very slow figure 8. When I fish lures, bugs , leeches etc i move the line faster to annoy the trout and get a response of attack etc. Thanks for watching Regards MD
