    Hi there James, I have just found your channel and subscribed, I agree with you that Lechlade is a superb fishery, Tim and his team have done an incredible job creating this fishing haven… seeing you Spey casting from the wobbly pontoon has opened my eyes a bit, a few of the flies up in the tree used to live in my fly box…
    I really enjoyed your video, so well conceived and executed.
    Thank you Sir.
    @Grandpa-Chris.

    Great video. Very interesting to see the micro spey rod getting used. That's me in the photo at the end - the fish went 21lb 8oz, I had it under a bung just off the island on a leaded gater bug practically last knockings! Some scrap on a 6 weight!

    Brilliant video, I would love to fish Lechlade. The fly you caught on is very similar to one I use called a Black Scragg. The Stevie Munn rod is really nice to use as well.

    Hi, another great video. This is the exact sopt where I want to try a trout / micro spay rod to get me close to the island. I have been looking at the cadence micro spey but what size would you sugest that I would need to get me too the island. I normaly like to use a 10ft 3-4# so dont like to fish to heavy. What do you think, Thanks for a great video.

      Hi Sledge Flyfishing.
      I have called James and he says the rod he used in the video was a 7/8 Microspey.
      In terms of how low could you go to reach that island in particular, its obviously very much dependant on wind direction, strength and casting ability. But we think the 3/4 would be too light to get that far. Truth be told the only way to know for certain is get the rods lined up, but the feeling is you would need at least a 5/6. Let us know where you live and we can let you know when theres an Open Day near you so you can try them out. I suspect there will be one at Lechlade but James will need to comfirm. That would be ideal for answering your question eh? 🙂

      @@CadenceFlyFishing Looking at your web site it looks like you get a free spool if you buy a reel and free line if you buy a rod, I couldn't help myself so just ordered a 5/6 Microspay, can't wait now, thanks again.🐟
