He told me ‘the common variable of your friends killing themselves is you’ and that it was ‘women like you who are destroying that traditional gender roles and directly contributing to the rising number of male suicides’ when I pointed out that I was not a good digger / I yelled at him and he found out I made more than 3x his yearly income. I had in fact been planning to treat him to crazy golf and had already paid for a reservation. Despite making it obvious that I was done hanging with him, he proceeded to follow me to where I was meeting my other friend - trying to be all funny and sauve but not once thinking to apologise. He’s since tried to contact me but still not thought of apologising. “Alpha men”.

About the platonic friends debate, I've grown to realise that in general woman believe in friendship between sexes because we are thaught to look for personality qualities while men are thaught to look for fisical qualities ofc because of the patriarchy. Even if one has had a crush on the other in the past, I think if they value each other as friends first, they can maintain a healthy, platonic relationship for years to come. And no I don't consider my guy friends as "brothers", but we do approach each other for advice and support. -That these people actually have influence over young men (especially those that’ve felt like they haven’t been fulfilled in life yet)

Me and my husband both expect each other to keep healthy and fit. After we had our daughter we had both put on some weight and instead of hating on each other we go for walks together with the baby and plan meals that we both enjoy. Communication is key! We have both lost weight and didn’t have to be mean to each other to do it.

I found out a old friend had gotten into these alpha male podcast things when we hung out for the first time in three years. Went from a lovely (if somewhat bad hygiene) geek into a unpleasant (still smelly) geek.
I expected to have fun and nerd out with him, but he sat me down and tried to make me watch these alpha male podcasts on yt with him about how they expected women to be, when I told him I hadn’t come all that way to sit there doing that he got all aggressive with me, insisted he wouldn’t be paying for dinner (I didn’t want dinner I was having dinner with another friend and had already said this) or activities. He told me ‘the common variable of your friends killing themselves is you’ and that it was ‘women like you who are destroying that traditional gender roles and directly contributing to the rising number of male suicides’ when I pointed out that I was not a good digger / I yelled at him and he found out I made more than 3x his yearly income. I had in fact been planning to treat him to crazy golf and had already paid for a reservation.
Despite making it obvious that I was done hanging with him, he proceeded to follow me to where I was meeting my other friend - trying to be all funny and sauve but not once thinking to apologise. He’s since tried to contact me but still not thought of apologising. “Alpha men”.

Can we talk about how people don't take you seriously in careers when you're pretty, though?? The amount of times I have to prove myself over and over again because the "pretty=dumb" stereotype is alive and well. Men have engrained so much self hatred into me. I am midsized, some guys might call me big. I have been in fear of gaining weight in relationships forever. In fear of this happening. I will never allow myself to be comfortable. I have had times where i started relationships with a guy and immediately stopped eating because I was afraid he would leave me for a thinner girl. I have a constant fear of not being good enough for guys. I am a good girlfriend but I am too afraid to be comfortable or happy in a relationship anymore.

As someone who has slept around, I can confirm having 8 boyfriends makes it super easy to ignore any one of them for any duration of time. About the platonic friends debate, I've grown to realise that in general woman believe in friendship between sexes because we are thaught to look for personality qualities while men are thaught to look for fisical qualities ofc because of the patriarchy. But while we have tried to conform to be more cooperative (because we were taught confrontation isn't ladylike) they have become more and more sure that they are right. So, as a result, the lie that friendship between sexes isn't a reality has been spread and we are going back to the times where if you're a man who is able to have platonic friendships with woman then, the only logical explanation other man can come up with, is that you're gay. My second conclusion was that beeing a woman sucks ass no matter what century you're in, because there is no peace, there is only fighting for your rights and beeing berated by stupid man. There's absolutely such a thing as platonic friendships between men and women. Even if one has had a crush on the other in the past, I think if they value each other as friends first, they can maintain a healthy, platonic relationship for years to come.
And no I don't consider my guy friends as "brothers", but we do approach each other for advice and support. Also I wouldn't say I have different friendships with women, NB or trans friends compared to the ones I have with men because it just really depends on the individual.
