5-3 flight deck carriers are beast though. The Cardassian deck carrier in the C store is good and you get access to the spiral disruptors and a decent beast. It is ugly and you'll want different pets than the ones that come with it. You can also pick up the Suliban Silik carrier as a T6 Fleet ship if you have ground through 5 reps and don't want to spend real money. It even has cloaking and a 5-3 weapons layout.
I second this. I use the Ghemor on a spiral wave cannon build with Five Magiks, Dragons Blood console, disruptor isomags, induction coils, the Ahwanee console, elite type 7s and the duty officer that gives a chance for scatter volley 2 to be upgraded to 3. It is disgustingly powerful.
The Silik is ridiculous and the console is the best single target tank console in the game.
@@MBroam Heck, the ship itself can be just moderately tweaked to fly like an escort. I have one running right alongside my Peregrines (only now dipping my feet into the carrier game).
As someone who's returning to the game after a long hiatus, this is a must see video. I actually bookmarked it to watch with even more attention later and take notes lol

That would normally be my first recommendation for a starship trade. But this consul greatly out performs the emergency weapon cycle trait. It’s still not a bad one to have though.
Me too but I definitely agree with this video. Honestly having this and the Arbiter will give a huge boost to new players.
So running BOTH traits is good? Do they stack?
I was going to use my current spare t6 coupon to pick up the Arbiter but now after watching this video I think I will use it on this instead. I can always pick up the arbiter later when I complete the event and get 2 more coupons.
Good to see you back with the vids MC Stu. Nice and informative vid, I got the ship at launch, and suffered through all the joys with the console & trait issues at the beginning. The console is on every energy weapon build I do, it is a fantastic console. I still fly the ship on occasion. Since we haven't had a 35% bundle sale for a while, I've been going back through my ship line up and mess about with builds on them.
reading your bit below the video, I realize that I, too, use bean arrays. I may not be using the proper damage type for my build, however. Do you think Pinto does more damage or Navy? Perhaps Green, coupled with the casserole console?

one thing i use on my jemhadar bug is 3 turrets in the back all with [Rapid] buff. u can find them mark2 on exchange very cheap and use phoenix upgrades to ramp them up. they have chance to increase your weapons haste . little investment for a quite nice buff for aft weapons.
I am not a budget player, but love these builds as even as a long time player I learn something new.

Bought the ship, put the console on my Kelvin Timeline intel cruiser, and saw an increase in damage. I don't have a parser, or any other software running, coz for some reason software doesn't work on my game, but it was visible. Thanks for the tip.
I agree with the carrier's to make an affected carrier you'll need serval different parts to make them any good like It's costly to say
Hi MCStu, I asked you earlier in the comments about how you used last years T6 event coupons to purchase the Ahwahnee ship. You suggested that I contact tech support and I did. They said that the event T6 coupon does not work on 14th or 13th anniversary ships. They also wanted to know what video I saw that in. So I gave them this link. But I wanted you to know.
Here is what I asked next:
I also thought of a question about last year’s event T6 coupons. So if I wait a year before using them will the 13th and 14th anniversary ships be able to be purchased with those coupons? Is it a time thing, or are these coupons permanently capped for 12th Anniversary ships or older?
If they are capped permanently then how can you advertise them as T6 coupons when they don’t purchase any of the 13th anniversary ships when it was the same year? Shouldn’t that be spelled out, before we are led to think that if we hold onto them for 2 years your company would not think of the 13th and 14th anniversary ships as new anymore so the coupons should work? Which is what I am currently thinking.
And if we can never purchase any of the newer ships with those T6 coupons, why are they named exactly the same as the T6 coupons in the Z-store? Because if I can never purchase any of ship newer than the 12 anniversary ships, then that means I wasted a year playing a game that misleads me. . . And I love STO, but I hate being misled. As I am sure you also do.

Just wanted you to know how this whole year long event is confusing for me when they call the token exactly the same as the Z-store T6 coupons. I hope that this didn’t bring trouble your way. I hope all is well with you and your family.
So, use the coupon they handed out for the anniversary to get the ship, then use the equipment on my non-fleet* Norway. Got it.
If you are running Phaser for ultra budget, replacing the Lobi console with the Quantum Phase Converter (from "Sunrise") or Reinforced Armaments (from "Into the Nexus") for its 2-piece might be a good bet. For other energy types the Temporally Shielded Datacore (from "Temporal Front") is a good survivability console and for each energy type their own mission/phoenix consoles are useful. If not in a fleet the Bellum consoles from the Discovery Reputation are good replacements for the Locators/Exploiters.
The Tier 1 Klingon BoP also has the Enhanced Induction Coils for 15K Dilithium and a similar console is available on the Tier 1 Oberth that also buffs Aux for the same price. The Red Matter Capacitor (Phoenix Store) boosts Aux and can supplement batteries.
*I am not in a fleet on any character.

@@ForeverDegenerate That is why I kept the T6 Coupon from the anniversary giveaway this year: I realized it is not locked to the older ships and waited for a ship I really wanted to use it on to come out. The ones from the campaign last year were locked out of those ships, I got the Norway with one of those.
Got my haste too high with other gear and traits which stopped me from firing many times during tfos and severely hurt my dps, so while I like this ship and console, I'm a bit skeptical of stacking haste now.

Finally to use my free T6 Coupon for something useful :) The last 3 years was good, 3 times Year event, got twice lobby to get few ships and consoles, still have 1 unused from last year, probably will stay this way for long. I am "Beam Overlord" so this is GOOD. It will nicely stack on my Kelvin Intel Dreadnaught. - I am free to play "too", not you Stu you pay! :), this game requires million so no point of real money.

Carriers are not good? Dude, my fighters crit for 97k. 90% of the player base cannot keep up with my carrier. Yeah my energy weapons builds, torp boats, and sci builds are stronger, but carriers can absolutely hold their own now with all the pet boosting stuff we have in the game.
I need a job. That being said STO has some of the best PvP
The Admiralty system could be expanded to make having all these ships we don't use, worth having. Better rewards, special missions..idk there is alot that could be done to make buying ships more "worth it"
Customized Fleet Support Beacon? Call in your own prepared ships. 4 clickys, 1, 2, and 3 each call a specific ship, 4 calls all 3. Select the ships with special Admiralty missions.

the M6 is NOT from a lobi ship, its from a T3 Ship that can be bought with Dil from every Shipyard, thats why its called the "Budget Domino Replacer" ^^

Stupid question: The console says firing haste for directed energy weapons,not just energy weapons.Doesn't that means i have to use the Eng BO skill for Directed energy weapons for it to work??

Could someone explain Tyler's Duality to me? I see it on everyone's top DPS builds. But, when I read the trait it looks like it won't do anything to speak of.
It give you crit chance and the amount of crit chance it gives you is based off the amount of HP you have.
@@MCStu yeah. But, being a squishy glass cannon, your hp will usually be low. The more dmg you do the more threat you draw.
Does flagship staffing apply to self as well? I thought it only worked on allies.
If you do not have a ally targetted it applies to you.
"lets say you have 2 friends" ... well i think that the hardest part of the console. otherwise, nice one.
And that will make the reason for more captains away granted people culd make a captain call it the tng captain and build a tng fleet or tmp captain build a tmp fleet or simply all ships t1 to t6 to legendary to what ever ship thay earn

Hmmm, it won't let me use my T6 coupon to buy this ship. Most ships say free with the coupon, but the Ahwahnee still cost 3000zen. Any ideas why?
Yes, we just found out that the compaign coupons will only let you buy ships that are 2 years old. Dev did not tell us this until a few weeks ago.

Would any other ships say the T6 Lexington or the Mirror Dreadnought Galaxy work with the Ahwahnee console? I usually use beam builds but I know both of these have a hanger also. I do have the Hydra T6 ship as well.

I use on the legendary galaxy x it works wonderfully with preferential targeting as well with beam overload
i would want to do a plasma build but not sure what i need.

I know when you purchase ships it's on my same account but how do I access the console part if I'm with a different faction
You have to claim the ship on your other characters and pull the console off it.

Does this build cover fire? I was surprised when I parsed my current ship's damage that my predominant damage type was fire, even though I'm decked out in antiproton/polaron.
This build would not effect fire....
So they put these C-store ships on sale?

When you're doing a budget build, I'd skip the Dark Matter torp. There are other options out there, like the Borg set cutter. CritD(or crit severity) is one of the worst damage bonuses to go after. On an energy build either weapon power or haste is the best, followed by critical chance(CrtH), or CritX(both) will give you the most bang for your buck.
Crit d on weapons maybe, but ship wide crit d is good... What's the point of critical hits if they hit like paper? And it's not like there is a ton of easy haste you are giving up to run Lorca's.
@@peterhans3791 Frequency is better than amplitude. It has been proven in STO with the DPS tests people have done.
@@borland8513 your going to need to link these scholarly DPS tests, because I've heard people questioning even bringing traditional sources of haste with what you already have with things like awhanee console and Temporal Tunneling. Not like people are kicking down the doors to bring "heart of sol"...but people still get excited about "the ruin of our enemies."

It truly a balancing act, with 30% on average that one every three shots will quit, so I want the damage when it quits to be as high as possible

2 hangar bays with carrier commands, sadly, no csv3...aren't you thinking of another ship?
@@lino222 It's not a carrier, it's a Flight Deck Carrier. Different classification. FDC's are basically cruisers/escorts with hanger bays. They far outclass carriers in every way.
@@lino222 For reference, most if not all carriers are 3/3 weapons layout and very engineering focused. FDC's are 5/3 and are balanced more between tactical and engineering. Plus most (all?) FDC's are full spec, so like the D7 and the Donnie FDC's are full miracle worker, which makes them astronomically better than carriers for energy builds.
@@necro926 My bad, D7 is the only ship with hangar bays that i have, had no idea that it wasn't a "true" carrier, i thought that ships with only one hangar bay were the "wannabe" carriers...potato, potato! :)

What are you talking about, these bills are centered around PVE. I currently hold a record IN ISE of 3.2 million DPS.
Ship traits were the smartest thing Cryptic did for making money.
Hi MCStu, it is me again, I am the guy who asked you how you got your Ahwahnee by using a event T6 coupon from last year‘s event, I said it doesn’t work for me and you told me to contact tech-support. I did that then I asked the question of how exactly the event T6 coupons work over time. I mean if we hold onto them for a year does that mean we can get the 14th anniversary using the 13th T6 token event coupons? Because the tool tip while hovering over one of the T6 event coupons say that anything in the new tab in the Z store are usable with those coupons. So why can’t we use the 13th year long event coupons on the 13th anniversary event ships?
And this is the response that Cryptic gives:
“Our findings show that there are two types of T6 Ship Coupons. One is acquired from events (Event Campaigns, Featured Events, etc.), and the other from the Zen Store (Anniversary Bundles, T6 Starship Coupon Gift, etc.). The ones acquired from events have limited use, but the coupons acquired from the Zen Store can be used on new ships. The one that the TH-cam content creator had most likely acquired was from the Zen Store.
As for your inquiry about the restrictions on Event T6 Ship Coupons, we are unable to verify its exact mechanics. We are unable to tell if a ship coupon obtained during the 2023 Event Campaign can be used on the T6 Ahwahnee Command Carrier after two years or if it is a set limitation. I am sorry if we are unable to provide more information about this.”
So MCStu, the people who make the game don’t know how these event tokens work. Either that or they don’t want us to know exactly how limited they are. Which really makes me not want to spend a year to get crippled T6 coupons. But because they are throwing in the premium T6 choice and Lobi Crystals I will continue to compete the year long campaign. But I am frustrated that I didn’t know what the T6 coupons could be used for when I chose them in last years event. I would have chosen something else. Hope you are all doing well!

Opinions on Achilles Miracle Worker Dreadnought Destroyer?
I have a lot of really good ships from boxes and I still bought this ship and I love it so much!
I use this console on all my energy builds. Even ones without pets. I love giving the clicky to other players, especially if they have pets. This is great for DPS OR support builds. The trait is great too if u use heals or Command ships.
Just as a major note, for a build, if you're using batteries, there's the Red Matter Capacitor (Very Rare, Phoenix Store) is a far more budget option there since it's an unlimited use item that counts as a battery for use.
I'm just returning, and even then i played free and mostly just stories. Nothing much into the harder stuff, but wanted to throw my 2 cents in
Bought the crossfaction battlecruiser bundle and i've been toroughly satisfied with those ships; especially the arbiter. I'm running the events now and doing phoenix/master keys a lot, so i'm getting all kinds of pretty good gear, but the ships themselves are fast, pack a punch, and have that shield console.
For a casual, i'd say you could play the entire game on just those 3 and enjoy it immensely.

That being said there is a lot of farmable items from story missions that are really great items that even i still use on my meta killer builds
And granted if someone just wants to obsessed with 1 ship like nx go a head copy the same ship build over and over and over if there's people like that but id rather different ships of different virilitys like normal t6 nx legendary t6 nx and if people want to at the Franklin to it shure
Like I said before wuy can't it be given to an ai to comand and each ship you add the more enemy's the game adds so you comand 1 your ai comands another i have 1 ship but it will have to given to spock who comands her my temporal light cruser I think it's time to throw the rope to the ai in the matter of speeking

I waited a while to pick it up, as I thought there was a good chance it would get nerfed. Glad I got it, though. It's my first full carrier, and while I grabbed it for the trait/console/pets, I'm actually enjoying the ship itself.
OMG I need this thing. Im flying a TX2 GW Jemhadar carrier with full frontal torps, Elite Vanguard Gunboats and Disco PoM power... these are serious carrier multipliers I cant WAIT to build in.

All the 14 anniversary ships are not able to be purchased using last year’s T6 coupons on my account and I am a Life time account holder. So what am I doing wrong? I would send a support ticket. you can use the T6 zStore coupons on these ships.

Vaadwaur Juggernaut is at the top of the meta for energy weapons.
I plan on running this with the Terran Styx, it should do nicely.

Just the pets alone would make the Ahwahnee worth it. Now add Flagship Staffing and the Fleet Power Network console...not getting it would be madness. The Disco Connie with these additions...very nice.

Good video. I recommend that you don't use acronyms for various consoles in your videos, as not everyone knows what they mean. You may choose to explain the acronyms as needed.
It's a damn shame that the Ahwahnee isn't a better ship on its own. In my opinion, it's one of the nicest looking ships they have come up with lately.
I use the fleet network array on the legendary inquiry with csv and melt elite tfo enemies I used a free t6 coupon best deal ever got it for free 😂

How do the Jarok Fighter Squads with FO3 compare for debuffing enemies to the these Type 7 Shuttles with APB3 for DPS?
DPS is higher with the type 7s because of the massive debuf the do.

AP Beta 3: (to target)
-49.8 all damage resistance for 5 seconds
-199.5 stealth for 5 seconds
The Jarok's Alliance Fighters have been some of the best pet's for debuffing enemies due to FO3. Bonus Damage and Accuracy vs. Damage Resistance debuff tho, dunno which is better without testing it.
We were using jarok fighters in the high-end record runs, but since of switched to the type sevens and they’re massively out performing them. These are in ISE runs doing 4 million DPS.

I picked up one of the bug ships not long ago and it was T5X instead of T5U witch also meant extra console slots and it came like that no upgrade needed.
If you had upgraded the bug ship on another character, then it would come like that on any other character you get it on
