I removed mine without removing any fairings, it’s fairly easy, the difficult bit is disconnecting the lead but it is 100% possible and much quicker, and you don’t risk damaging the body work. Then you can just release the cable ties and pull it carefully through. I ordered the correct bolts from BMW to replace the ugly tall ones used with the gps mount at the same time as when I ordered the blanking plug. Hope that helps, ride safe.
This was the first mod I did, looks so much cleaner and I ordered the original bolts which sit low and flush direct from my dealer. My cradle was key specific so without your key ( my f900 is keyless like yours but still has a key for the seat etc) therefore I couldn’t sell mine. I will just put it back on when I eventually sell her.
I just bought an F900R today, the timing of this Video is incredible :D def gonna remove that GPS cradle

Great video!! I was wondering if I could use that open plug for a Quadlock wireless charging head? Any ideas?
Do you know any way to use the linbus connector (that you release by removing the GPS cradle) to connect the wireless charger from quad lock?
But I don't have an F900R or a GPS Cradle
