      True. There’s new schools opening here almost all the time so there’s still a need but you’d have to lower your salary expectations.

    I'm from South Africa.
    I'm actually working on coming to the UAE, I'm still busy with the paperwork. I'm done with saqa. Now, i still need to abpostille the verification letter and police clearance. So I have B.Ed degree in Mathematics and Life Sciences, SACE, and almost 6 years of teaching experience in the abovementioned subjects, and I have recently completed a TESOL course. I'm currently working in South Africa. What are the chances of employment for me?

      @@RorisangMojakisane I know most jobs require a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience after obtaining your degree. I don’t know if you’ll be able to secure a teaching post. But there’s no harm in trying.

    Please, kay, I'm already in UAE. Can I apply to schools in person. I have my certificate and transcript but they are not attested in my home country. Can I use them to apply to schools in person without attestation?

      Look out for schools that have walk-in interviews - that’ll increase your chance of success. As far as I know, they require your degree to be attested.

      @@m_motso it’ll take a huge adjustment to get used to the work here, but even in my 4th year here, I still feel like it’s a lot.

      Hi Christine, they definitely employ non-native speakers. You need a minimum of two years of teaching experience and a B.Ed degree.

      @@vanessavilane487 1. Reasonable would be anything from 10 000 AED to 18K depending on housing allowance.
      2. You will need to get your degree attested to teach in the UAE so that might be a bit of a problem.
