Slick Sleigh. Long and low, all angles, hidden headlights, fastback roofline, vinyl top, and terrific tail panel.
    Thanks Lou.

Lou, I feel the word 'Gorgeous' is fully justified in describing this banker's hot rod. Longer, lower, wider and longer some more would also be appropriate adjectives. That whole catalogue of fine Chryslers for '68 (in almost twenty different colors) is an excellent exclamation point for this display of rolling sculpture. Thanks to Jim and all the previous owners for preserving this Frost Green Metallic gem for over fifty years so all of us could enjoy it today.

Lou once again you are bringing back memories. That car was a year old when I went to work at the Chrysler dealer. The 67 and 68s were, in my opinion, better cars than their 1969 and 1970 replacements.

OMG!!! That is funny, "I get a lot of ladies in their 80's and 90's who wanted one of these." I had a 66, 300, with the 440..... The first person outside my family who came over to look at my car was a 60 year old lady, who loved cars (drove a Maverick Grabber, and had a 65 Galaxie 500, 7.0 in storage in her garage), asked to drive it. And she did, hot rodding around the hood!!!! LOL! She explained the exact same thing. Her husband didn't want to spend the money and they ended up with the Ford! BTW, this was in 83! LOL! Just damn funny how the 300 legacy of 1955-1972 history endures, even to this day.
Thanks for bringing this car to light, even if it is a 383 series, these cars were special to many, including myself.

I had a friend whose Mother had a Two door Chrysler 300 big block 440. We cruised from Toronto to Bracebridge at give or take 85 MPH. Mrs Kerr wasn't really worried about the speed limit. At about 85Mph, the car wasn't even starting to work. Smooth, comfortable and at 100 you didn't worry about passing anyone. The Car flew.....

LOVE IT! The very first car I ever bought was a '68 Chrysler 300, Sovereign Gold Metallic, 2 door White top, Black interior, Bucket seats w/ center console and a factory vacuum gauge, TNT 440 dual snorkel air cleaner and would pass everything except a gas station. bought it for $425 from a lady who brought it to the vocational technical collage to have some work done on it so she could sell it. I talked to the instructor and asked how much she would want for it "AS IS". I borrowed the money from my boss (I worked at an AMOCO service station after school). It ended up being my project car for class (this was back in '78 down in Florida). Car was completely rust free and straight as an arrow. Wish I still had it.

All.the newer cars today are gone with the quality no more durability no more top end speed no more good ride the younger generation
Dont understand what a 68 newyorker is all about.and I doubt if the younger generation has ben in a car that does 150 mph if there were they would be scared real fast

Lou I was 15 yrs old when these cars were new. Comparably equipped their price point was in line with Buick Electra 225 and Olds 98. Those hood prop rods are testimony to Chrysler's torsion bar suspension technology...way ahead of it's time. When I was a freshman in college in 76-77 I had a 76 Cougar, my roommate had a 74 Dodge Swinger. Our next door neighbors: one had a 73 Nova and the other one had this car in consort blue metallic, a hand me down from his dad. When we went cruising for fun, or hunting ladies, or just for adult beverage runs we always took the 300...because hey, in a pinch we could always stuff 2 or 3 bodies in the trunk! 🤣🤣 And yes, it had that same 440 with that subtle rumble!

My parents had a '67 Chrysler town & country wagon, it was the station wagon version of this car. I took my driving test in that car, it had a 440 with the dual snorkel air cleaner. Just a big beautiful streamlined two door car! I had a 1965 and this car on the sides and the interior on some points was just like it like the hood props the same as my old 1965. I love the color the hide away headlights the nice huge back up lights plus the big 440 cubic inch engine. I love the bucket style seats always loved those. The engine sound boy I bet that car will really scoot!! Just a awesome survivor. Always used to rust out over the rear fender skirts these looked clean. I saw just 66 thousand miles I do believe that is awesome. Thanks Lou for sharing! He has a true piece of history there!

My dad had a 1969 New Yorker that was very similar in color. The sheet metal was very thick on it also, so it was built like a “tank.” Chrysler was famous for their “torsion bar” suspension, and I noticed its use instead of springs on the hood. The 300 was considered to be the “sporty model” that was just below the New Yorker. The standard engine on it was the 383ci. V8. Interiors on these cars were quite luxurious, and my dad’s had “brocade cloth” on the seats of his car. I noticed the lack of A/C on this model. My dad’s car also lacked that feature, so this car might be from the northern US, or even Canada!

MY 300 was ALL electric, had cruise control, climate control, dueal remote ralleye mirrors, duel dolby autoreverse AM/FM cassette, 160 watt Delco rear amplifier, EIGHT speakers, SIX power windows [it was also a 2 door fastback] and had FIVE cig lighters, [one in the rear of the console] and ELEVEN interior lights!
And a whole lot of OTHER ultra-rare options.
But in my youthful stupidity, I got in trouble with the law, lost my license, could not pay storage on the car, and I don't even know if it still exists any more.

Lou! The next time you find a mid 60's to late 50's Chrysler 300, if they have the original key, get a shot of it!!!!! I still have mine and the attention to detail, by Chrysler back in the day was all about presenting the Imperial and 300 as "special/custom." By price, they were. My Chrysler Lion Key is my good luck charm.

Does this bring back memories, my father did a car change over its color a couple of times when I was growing up. The other one that comes to mine was the 2 Matador coupes, I believe they were both 74s again the first one was green, he changed it for a maroon one and both cars was only 1 years old when he got them. I remember in 75 my dad got a blue maverick, it was brand new and he worked for a Ford dealer, well Ford just offered a 2 tone maroon Maverick (part of a decor pkg) and guess what my father did next, traded the blue one in. Yeah my father never kept a car for that long, in the 70s maybe 2 months tops he would keep a car, unbelievable.
