  • The right tool for the right job. Removing or installing a sink faucet usually means working in tight spaces. A basin wrench is designed for those tight spots.

Great to see the tool being used from different angles. I bought a $15 basin wrench vs spending $200 to hire a plumber to change my kitchen faucet. Thanks!

I used this video to remove and install a new soap dispenser, and tighten the spout. The nut and washer on the soap dispenser were rusted, and very tight. The basin wrench grabbed onto it, and it finally gave. Good thing I was wearing my eye protection because of all the rust that fell down. Thanks for the great video!

Also when you tighten the tap nut the tap can turn.It helps for someone to hold the tap whilst you fasten the nut with this spanner.

The basin wrench you used is that adjustable?

I wish I had this tool when I was changing out bathroom faucet. Boy it was a tight tight space.

This tool can be better...it needs a steadier or more secure grip around the nut....this tool slips off sometimes. Maybe there needs to be a way that the stick part, can rotate and adjust the head to wrap around the nut more tightly.
Or maybe the head of this tool can be a full circle and the stick part can rotate to adjust to the same size as the nut.

I was doing it the same way, how come it doesn't hold firm but keeps sliding?

I've had that; almost feels like the spring isn't quite tight enough. If you'd sprayed the nut with WD40 or similar then wipe off the excess, then sand around the nut. Another video recommends putting sandpaper around the inside of the wrench for extra grip. Failing that it's a blowtorch.

I need to install a Franke kitchen faucet and that nut is 1 1/4" will this tool do that size? They already installed the sink so it's very tight in there. thanks

Yes I have never seen a basin wrench that doesn’t go up to 1 1/4”. The one used in this video should work so look for that size!

For me it failed because it was too tight

  • @mintymintygogo

So why doesn't it work for me? The jaws of the wrench don't grip the nut- just spins

Man i hate tools so much. Seems like you always need something new

Why are you blaming tools? Tools are helpful. If you took care of your stuff, or didn’t buy stuff, you wouldn’t need to fix anything. You could also pay someone to fix your stuff if you hate tools.

I’ve used this basin wrench on really tight bolts when working on the car. Sometimes I sharpen the teeth to make sure It grabs a little better.
