Weather forecasts at your convenience 24 hours a day. Weather You Can Always Turn To. Information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. No place on Earth has better weather.
I grew up with TWC in the midwest, and every spring when we had bad storms my parents turned on TWC for me to watch so I wouldn't get scared about the storms. Their on air talent at that time was so great. Just a comfortable feeling all the way around 🙂
In recent times, American cable weather network The Weather Channel got its thunder (and lightning) stolen from them when Accuweather, Weathernation TV, and a whole bunch of local TV stations created their own digital subchannels dedicated to tracking weather, came onto the scene.
Holy **** you snuck in a clip of mine! Specifically that station ID from 2002. Just so you know, since this video has been uploaded, there's a video from tape (not just someone recording their TV with a camera like I did) from 2001 that has an ID with that exact same piece of background music, but it's gray clouds instead of sunset. The video is called Rochester, NY WeatherSTAR XL - October 21, 2001.
Interestingly TWC was filled with actual weather news before AccuWeather, WeatherNation, and some local stations (also Weathernews LiVE (based in Japan) took the spotlight; I still say TWC is the American version of Weathernews LiVE
I think most of the songs used were originally the weather channel’s own. There is one they showed, it was “These Dreams”. By heart. That was the only one I recognized.
“You’re watching the weather Channel, accurate, dependable forecasts 24 hours a day!” Gotta miss it!

Man, the 2004-present are just basically the same thing. I miss the old days of unique bumper clips.
Since 2008 it was Downhill resulted as a partnership with NBC. It's all about WeatherNation.
As son as they switched from information focused entertainment focused, the writing was on the wall. 😭
The first logo clip reminds me of some kinda Bob Ross Joy of Painting music

1:29 imagine if you heard that at night!
2009 was the first clip where it sounded like SiriusXM.
The old logos and clips were the ones to watch .I think it's time they go back to the retro ways.it was better.
My left airpod is silent

I like them all... miss the logo streaming out and taking shape like they had in the 80’s. 😥
The music is so peaceful.

The one with the tornado and ominous music is scary.
The ‘80s ones remind me of when we were about to take a trip. My dad always had The Weather Channel on in the morning before we would leave.
The logo backround looks like from the show Highway to Heaven.
0:11 DOOM
that first logo sounds like the sample from mf doom's deep fried frenz

7:35 & 8:53 - Second Rendez-vous by Jean Michel-Jarre ("ominous" movement begins @ 5:53)
I love those holiday intros. Oh so good.
Yeah in the early 90s the Weather Channel had that cozy atmosphere around the holidays which is sadly not used today.
Accurate Reporting, Nice People. This video should have more views, no?
Now Weathernews LiVE checks both of those rather than TWC
