I hear you. I was a junior in high school when this originally aired. Love, love, love the classic TWC. Never gets old, watching this stuff. Now, if only we could say that about ourselves, huh? :-)
I'm 30 (No one cares) I was only 5 days old on the night this broadcasted, My dad loved The Weather Channel and had it on very often. This was the sound of my earliest years, and I'm really glad. I love it. As an adult now, I love Jazz, Piano, Soul, Ambient music, Vaporwave - But I always find myself back at that smooth Jazz. The Weather Channel, and 94 7 THE WAVE. The best when they were good! Take me back!
From back when TWC RULED - none of the sensationalism and reality TV that was to infect what was in its prime simply and awesomely, The Weather Channel. Me and my best buddy from college would occasionally do long phone calls with TWC on in the background commenting on the on-air meteorologists...we'd be about to hang up and then "wait, Jeanetta's coming on!". This is so comforting. Even the old commercials.
What a time to be alive haha. I was 3 when this aired, but I got really into TWC around 98-99 and recall that era vividly. This definitely makes me feel like I’m back in kindergarten though, aesthetic-wise
1:09 I love these little moments of just visuals. Just nature, or graphics. No ads, no news ticker, no tweets, nothing annoying. Just meant to be visually pleasing and relaxing, in the background, as you go about your day. When did the weather channel from relaxing background noise to a dramatic storm chasers event? BRING BACK *THIS* WEATHER CHANNEL.
I never thought of video recording the weather channel when growing up but whoever did and is now sharing these i appreciate it.I grew up watching and relying on The Weather Channel. It was a lot better back then in how they kept politics out and focused just on weather.
I might not remember The Weather Channel from that time (I was 2 years old when this was recorded.), but this was when they were still a great channel.
Life felt like it made more sense back then. It wasn't perfect, but there was a certain feeling of magic in the air that i haven't felt since the World Trade Center fell.
Between 1991 and 1997, I was hooked on The Weather Channel, although my favorite years were 1993, 1994, and 1996. The earlier two years are heavily nostalgic for me, and 1996 had Trammell Starks music that I loved. I miss the 1990s Weather Channel. I know it began in 1982, but I didn't get into it until around 1991. I miss those days so much. 😢😭 #TheWeatherChannelClassics #1990s #GoodOldDays
I remember watching TWC early in the morning before going to middle school. I had a habit of waking up at 5 AM to watch it, while eating breakfast (I made myself, despite being 14).
37:10 Indian Summer by The Rippingtons is the song they play during the business travel forecast. If only they still played Rippingtons music on The Weather channel today....
Golly.....you don't see the cars on those commercials anymore. Those were NEW back then. Lol. Now they hardly exist. And I tell you one thing....TWC back then was pretty spot on with their forecasts. I dont know what happened to them now. Honestly, they're hardly right anymore. I use other sources now. Dont really care for the TV shows on there too. I watched TWC to watch weather.....thats all.
Hi everyone. Could someone please help me ID the song which starts at 11:42 and appears elsewhere in this video? I remember hearing it on TWC back in the day, and never could find out what the track title was. I would love to find a full copy of the track, and the album it came from. Thanks so much!
Imagine yourself, stranded in some large building like a mall or airport. There is no one else there. Absolutely no one. The lights are on. Elevators and escalators work. Automated trams and rails work just fine. But that's all there is. There are no doors that lead outside - or at least to what passes for "outside" beyond the windows. On every screen, large and small, this is the only program playing. Grainy. Wildly out of date. On a continuous loop. It's been maybe 15 hours since you've slept. You can't remember the last time you were hungry or thirsty. There is no escape. Because where would you escape to? Sit down. Have a rest. Stay a while. Catch up on the weather. And relax. It's not like you're going anywhere. Ever again.
I could watch these videos forever. I always turn on these before going to bed. Makes me feel young again
This and NFL Primetime.

What's the very first song?
What's the name of the song played from 0:10 to 1:10?
“Love Struck” by George Howard.
Track at 2:22:25?
Could someone identify the frequency (the hz?) of this television? The sounds tingle my brain and make me sleepy.. So nostalgic 😞
edit: typo
