Racial discrimination in hiring is as old as time itself. There have been studies from decades ago that showed companies had preferences for names of particular ethnic groups over others. The resumes would be identical except for the names of the applicants

If your qualifications fit the job description, you should get an interview. Then the applicants that show up on time, are presentable, act and speak professionaly, can perform the duties, seem reliable, and shows real interest in the job, should get the job. Race and sex are moot.

Yes, what you describe is what SHOULD be, and yet here are the facts that race, gender AND religion are NOT moot at all. Your thoughts?

I replied but it's not showing.
We have laws in place to try and fight those issues. We have to continue trying enforce those laws. It all starts with pregnancy. Mandatory parenting classes for when pregnancy is declared for both parents. I feel indoctrinating our children with hate or victimhood is as bad if not worse than sexualizing them. Push morality in schools and teach them we are not just communities but a strong and great united nation. Ostracize racist to weaken them. Don't participate in race-baiting, hate, or any other devisive divisions. If you have hate in your heart, there is no room for love. If you have love in you heart there is no room for hate. We can defeat racism asymmetrically and generationally. It works, I've done it with my own son.

Unfortunately this isn’t uncommon. Whether it was the case of the black couple getting more than half a million dollars more on their valuation of their house when they pretended to be white or this case where he had to pretend to have a “less black” name to open the door to an interview, it’s horrible that some institutions still try to curve around black/ethnic people instead of giving them a fair shot of true equality. It may be hard for this guy to prove, but I hope in the end he gets his justice.

I'm white and get discriminated from jobs because I'm too fat. They have a right to hire whomever they want to. But I suppose your rights matter more because of your race. Maybe I should go grab a lawyer because the clothing store won't hire me as a model because I am fat. The race card is really helping lawyers these days. I need a fat card if they have those available.

Fat isn’t a protected class (I’m obese myself BTW.) Race is.

Instead of thinking about these matters as people of color just trying to complain and insisting that their problems aren’t valid, why not try thinking about it from their point of view. Imagine even the thought that your children or grandchildren being denied a job that they’re perfectly qualified for simply because of something like their race. Now imagine all of the people that this and other companies deny because of the same situation with other people. Then you find out that it’s HELLA illegal. Would you tell your children and grandchildren to get over it or would you say that this isn’t right?
