    In addition to the barebow setup, would definitely love to see how the extra longs feel on a 25" riser, especially at 70m. Considering the 27" + mediums combo you used to use, it would be interesting to hear what kind of comfort/speed/efficiency trade offs you feel, and then how adjusting the limb rockers tweaks that.
    Also, heard that the extra long velos seem to have some quality control issues. Would be interested to see if you notice any of that.

    I would love to see a barebow comparison between a 27+long and a 25+Extra long limbs, specifically as it relates to forgiveness and finger pressure when stringwalking. I think it would be useful in the context of some of the ongoing barebow equipment debates.
    I’d also love to hear your impressions as to how the Xceed compares to the Gillo GT when setup as a barebow riser. I know the GT had some issues for you with setup, but I’d be curious as to how they feel when shot. These, and the CD WF risers, are kind of the go-to for high level shooting.

    Hi Jake couple questions. 1. If i shoot a 42lb barebow whats the equivalent weight in Oly recurve considering the lower anchor. I assume you can hold more weight. 2. What’s the best arrow for a guy wanting to try 70m without spending millions on x10?

    • @mocknugget
      @mocknugget 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      1. Same weight, very little difference other than you're gonna work on 1 top limb more than the bottom so a positive tiller is needed
      2. Skylon arrows, Victorys. I can think off

  • @joseluiszenizo5070
    @joseluiszenizo5070 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    In some shots you can see your bow shoulder to creep a little bit upwards. It may be the transfer effect, as those arrows landed in the 10, mostly. Just an observation. It is very clear on the video shot from the back and you have the wall lines to compare.
    Nice video, nice score

    I’m very curious about the Gillo GT and Hoyt Velos combo. I’m shooting Gillo GT/Uukha now and I have a love/hate relationship towards the limbs on a recurve and thinking about switching to Hoyt Velos instead. I love the smothness with the Uukha limbs, but it’s a bit hard to find that exactly spot before the clicker. The limbs just feels the same and extremely smooth all the way. (Which is absolutely amazing on a traditional recurve though).

    Jake, you mentioned you´d love the weights in the riser´s pockets? Is it for better stability? What about Gillo´s riser? same thing or different?

    • @JakeKaminskiArchery
      @JakeKaminskiArchery  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I mentioned that I’d love to play with them. Not sure if I’d love them on the bow or not.
      I didn’t see the Gillo had pocket weights specifically only a barebow weight that bolts to the lower part of the riser only.
      Hoyt has that too and I’m sure it’s the same thing.

  • @samnoots
    @samnoots 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Jake, you've said in Apptitune that a higher strand string will make a shaft act weaker, to me that's counterintuitive as a slower string feels like it should stiffen the arrow. Can you explain how it works?

    • @JakeKaminskiArchery
      @JakeKaminskiArchery  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is due to the added weight of the strands. In general in my experience a heavier string makes an arrow weaker. It seems to break down the spine faster. Tests will need to be done on my end and I will post my findings as time goes on!
