    I would love to try one of these risers. My GMX has been a workhorse and is a great riser , and this seems to be in your words "refined" in comparison. The limb pockets and adjustments look great, and I am loving the bolt indexing. Thanks Jake, great video as always.

    I shoot the original GMX to this day, but this made me want a new bow. All the improvements for tuning and fine adjustment look so nice. (I really dislike the shim system in the original GMX)

    Thank you for this, I’ve currently got an xceed and going to be trying the GMX tomorrow. It was definitely interesting watching this as i hate setting up new bows, but given how you moved some things straight from the xceed give me a warm feeling it might not be so bad as I know what i like on my xceed.

    How does the GMX 3 stack up to the ATF-DX? And is the GMX 3 more than just an ILF Formula DX? Does it have significant upgrades?

    There's a lot of buzz around this riser for barebow. So I'd be interested to see how you feel about the LPP when stringwalking too, especially at 18m.

    That looks awesome, after 2 years doing archery id love to be able to afford some hoyt gear but i expect itll be a few more years before im good enough for that type of gear. Im just getting a handle on using some stabilisers for 50yards. Love the channel though it helped me fix some problems with my arrow spines a very useful resource. 😊😊

    Lovely looking riser! I’m not surprised the finish and quality is so good, I have an Aerotec and an Axis that are about 20 years old and the quality of those is really good too, nice to see standards haven’t slipped. Maybe in 20 years time I’ll have a GMX3 in my collection, hopefully I’ll have completed my collection of Tec risers by then lol. As always Jake, thanks for everything you do for us 😊

    Hey Jake, the tolerances on the tiller bolt was an interesting point to bring up, but it got me wondering what kind of tolerances you see in the limb fork between different sets/brands of limbs. I'd be curious to see what the differences are between a few brands, and if there is a large difference what you could do about it to make sure you get a tight fit.

      Have you seen this video? What Size Precision Tiller Bolts Do You Need?
      th-cam.com/video/kf0hyX9RlLc/w-d-xo.html
      As far as variance I have seen limbs as small as .369 and as large as .388”
      The largest sometimes aren’t even worn out and only a month or less old. Each manufacture varies, but I have seen trends

      Hoyt is looking over my bow and supposed to let me know if it’s warranty-able it’s not good so I assume it will be but I will update here.
      My axias were for sure a warranty. Keep an eye out for space between the plastic bits and the limbs… they exchanged mine. Waiting on replacements for both.

    • @yanglai524
      @yanglai524 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the reply. I am disappointed. $850 for a new riser and the center stab is not centered on the riser. Won’t be able to use the center stab for alignment.
      Another update. My axia foam did not “creak” on my xceed. But on the gmx3, it creaks all the time

    What worries me about the painted riser is that paint will chip much more easily than an anodised finish! Not to mention the sling rubbing against the corners?

    Hi Jake, can your limb bolts be put in a classical GMX and replace its original pivotable bolts? Does it alter somehow the way how the GMX was thought to work?

    • @JakeKaminskiArchery
      @JakeKaminskiArchery  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes the Precision Tiller Bolts for the GMX and replace the pivoting bolts with no changes to the bow or how it works. It will actually make the bow better by eliminating the pivoting bolts which were found to cause issues such as changing tiller each time you string the bow. There is a reason why Hoyt abandoned that tiller bolt over time.

    • @andreafranco3483
      @andreafranco3483 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JakeKaminskiArchery your bolts are likely to be my gift for my coming birthday. Last question, do you confirm that, also for GMX, 5 turns must always stay into the hole for safety reasons? This is written in the manual, printed for a variety of Hoyt bows, not specifically for GMX.

  • @archerstu0116
    @archerstu0116 ปีที่แล้ว

    Also, the limb fit is a much better quality, but I’m coming from Prodigy XT, so only to be expected. I could hardly get it the limbs (Formula Integra) out of the pockets. On the XD they just slide in and out.

    • @JakeKaminskiArchery
      @JakeKaminskiArchery  ปีที่แล้ว

      So on the new XD with the new bolts the limbs are loose? Which limbs are you using?

    • @archerstu0116
      @archerstu0116 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JakeKaminskiArchery nope, not loose at all. Nice and snug. I’ll do the test that you do to check, next time I set up the bow. The limbs are the 2023 version of the Carbon Integra’s. They were incredibly tight on the Prodigy bolts. Very difficult to remove from the bow.

    • @JakeKaminskiArchery
      @JakeKaminskiArchery  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd bet the prodigy bolts were within spec and the XD are similar to the size mine are, a little undersize. You just are lucky and have a set of limbs that are small in the fork and make them nice and snug.

    Will the tiller bolts and damper inserts fit an Exceed riser?

    • @JakeKaminskiArchery
      @JakeKaminskiArchery  ปีที่แล้ว

      The dampers have a ridge they fit into, the exceed riser does not have that ridge so they may fall out.... As far as the bolts, all 2009+ Hoyt risers are the same. I offer them for sale on my website currently and have both sizes of the Hoyt Precision Tiller Bolts in stock at jakekaminski.com/store/ols/products/precision-tiller-bolts
