Hi, I love your TH-cam channel. I'm 62 and only started archery in August 2023 after I found out I had prostate cancer. Im pretty crap but love archery. Your channel is helping me improve I think? Keep up the good work. I'm running out of videos to watch on TH-cam as I watch them every day my wife is sick of archery lol.

    Hi Jake,
This is an old video now but thought I'd recommend the WNS T-Square.
It has a cool feature on the markings where they are staggered and labelled, one side measured from the string clip, and the other measured from the inside.
People might chuckle at the WNS branding but it's really functional, a very nice feature to have. It's funny the cheaper option is what I found to be the most useful for me.

Hi jake! I started archery about 7 months ago as a person who haven't made any type of sport for at least 20 years. I ended up going all in with it, I just love it. I started hoing to the gym, shooting 3-4 times a week and even going to tournaments (even won a few).
Your videos helped me A LOT and hooked me even more with the sport. I re-watch your videos regularly to remember concepts and practices and to try new stuff in form and tunning.
Thank you for your content, is really helpful and honest. As for the giveaway, I live in Argentina so i'm not sure if it applies for us, but if it does, I'd love to participate!

I admire men and women that are honest, informative to my inquisitive nature and trustworthy. Your videos are always what my wife and I look forward to seeing when we are not taking care of our young grandkids. As a matter of fact I took my 2 middle grandkids to the archery for the first time after learning some things from your beginners videos. They had a great time and want to go again when we give their parents a break. Well thanks again for all your hard work.

That string tracking is pretty neat. Its always fascinating to see these data points in your reviews. I am hoping to see if any form of tests can be done to see if limbs lose their speed after being strung and exposed to heat all day long during a competition.

Every time I want to buy new equipment, Jake is the first person's videos I go to for a review. He is always so honest and straight to the point and also very easy to understand which is nice when I started my archery journey a few years ago. Plus he doesn't reviews on any brand or things and not just 1 brand loyalty.

  • @nlua129

It's funny that you mentioned the bow square. I specifically bought the same one you have because I appreciate how meticulous you are. Never occurred to me that it may be off until last night i was just checking somethings with it.
I noticed the same issue you mentioned along with the "L" shape doesn't seem to be exactly 90° or "square". I can not remember the exact details since it was 3am when I noticed but it was more apparent when clipped to the string, so could be an issue with the clips or both.
I honestly don't care for the swag, but I BEG you 🙏, please let me know if you find THE square that meets your standards or criteria. Otherwise I'll be the first to order the Jake Kaminski Bow Square. Maybe a "J" or "K" square 😂

  • @Xealtor
    @Xealtor 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

WRT the bow square. One of the coaches at my club did an informal test on all the squares we had. Each square was calibrated differently and some were straight up inaccurate. We came to the conclusion - always use the same square for your measurements. It may inaccurate but it's consistent and accurate for you, if that makes sense.

That is why I love old Hoyt limbs. They have a "wooden" slow, "gooey" feel to them while shooting, despite being foam. My W&W are too "snappy" for my preference BUT sometimes they deliver the best results I have ever shot. Rarely though ... :P.

Thank you for a great review! It’s interesting, with the MXP-10’s W&W built the limbs slightly shorter. And they seemed to be faster as a result. This time they have made the limb slightly longer. And from your initial bareshaft impacting weak, they would appear to be slightly slower as a result.

If I change brace height I change draw weight, I wonder how much additional draw weight could be got from the limbs and if the wood core ones are still as effective in resisting the heat. Really interested in these as heat has been a big issue for me at the moment, adding cooling shirts and constant string adjustment in comps.

Hey Jake! I was just thinking that there are many of us who would love to compete but because of circumstances, we are unable. What would you say about doing a 60 arrow backyard barebow challenge? Everyone competing can film themselves shooting and then walking down to the target to get the score. 20 yards would be a good starting point since many people can get that in their yards. You can do other challenges at different distances as well. You probably have a better idea on how to set it up than I do but I'm thinking that each competitor can upload the video to their youtube account and put the link on a designated video that you put up for the specific challenge. Then the challengers can each check each other and verify the scores. I'm sure there will be plenty of ways to cheat like shooting the challenge several times to get your top score. But the way I look at it is that if it gets people off the couch and shooting arrows, it's all good. Oh, and my shirt size is large...lol.

Cool video. Always great to watch your content. Thanks!
Trying to find my way back to recurve archery after pausing for 15 years... Still love and really miss that sport. Just need to find a good kit for myself and a place to practise.

Thanks for the content Jake. The video on aiming a few weeks ago helped me shoot my PB on barebow.

I am a sucker for mono chromatic limbs 😅 but the black in the heat always gives me pause, so I’m interested to see if they hold up.
