Lorises: the endangered primates of Southeast Asia

  • The lorises, in the subfamily Lorinae, are small, nocturnal primates that are unfortunately threatened due to deforestation and the illegal pet trade. Many of them are venomous, being not only the only venomous primates, but one of the very few venomous mammals. I will then dive into the 11 living and 1 extinct species and explain what is currently known about them.

    amazing video, super insightful and well made!!!! i would love to see lemurs (a personal favorite primate) covered in a future video

      Thank you! I'm actually planning a trip to madagascar later this year, so will definitely do lemurs when I get back. Hopefully with some good photos!

    woah. i appreciate the warning before the cruelty of the loris. :( i could just imagine the comments of that video of that loris being scratched under the arms, completely clueless that its stressing them out

      I did at least appreciate that the comments from the place I got that video clip from were trying to educate the poster, but I don't think they were the original poster.
