That’s really the problem now, they used up all the 80’s in the 80’s, there’s none left for now. I wonder if someone has a savings account of it stashed away we could use in film today.
Eighties movies were amazing! "Twins" (1988) with Arnold, Danny DeVito and Kelly Preston is what you should watch if you haven't seen it! I would also totally be here for a "Kindergarten Cop" re-watch.
39:48 "Is she gonna be part of the _family,_ now?" You know, I've heard they _also_ drew up a script for this movie that had the beginnings of a _romantic_ dynamic between John and Cindy. Personally, though, I'm glad they didn't use it. The dynamic between them, here, is the kind of dynamic you find between buddy _cops._ It's _much_ more believable. Besides, John _cannot_ look for romance, here. He's in this to rescue his _daughter._ Everything else is a _distraction_ from that.

Having grown up back in the 80s, now when I rewatch movies from then, I tend to focus more on interesting background stuff that fills me with nostalgia. 4:07 "She's Cute" That's Alyssa Milano playing Arnold's daughter in this movie From what I'd heard, during the production of this movie, Arnold was pretty protective of Alyssa and would help her with her homework between takes
My favorite scene was Cindy with the rocket launcher, I remember first time seeing laughing so hard. Also I like that Cindy's character was pivotal to the 3rd act. being about the fly the plane to get Arnold to the island so he could rescue his daughter. Good popcorn movie, just sit back and watch.
Haha, funny choice! This incredibly silly movie is the ultimate distillation of 80s action movies. It’s nothing but Arnold being a cartoon action hero. I think that purity gives it a certain charm.
This is such a great movie to just chill with a pizza and some beer and be entertained. The action and one liners are top notch! Great sound track and no heavy lifting from the audience, just a pure action movie! The little girl is Alyssa Milano from the tv show Charmed, if you ever watched that.
"Don't disturb my friend. He's dead tired." Badum, _tsh!_ "What happened to Sully?" "I let him go." Badum, _tsh!_ "Let off some _steam,_ Bennett." Badum, _tsh!_ 😄
In 70s and 80s military surplus stores would buy from military through auctions requiring them to have a contract with DOD. In this manner clandestine operatives or contractors could get whatever supplies were needed then after the mission or operation was over the after-action report would explain what they got and from who, then DOD would reimburse the surplus store for loses with a little extra for hush money. The instructions are attached by a metal wire look for those if new, if refurbished plastic tie strap loop.
That makes sense , explains why he went to that store , he may have done business with the owner to get his guns for his house , what we saw in the beginning and also when done a few missions in the past. Hence he knew where the button to open the wall to the back was. After it was over he gets general to reimburse the shop owner
I didn't even know there *was* a director's cut of Commando. As much as I love this movie, movies like this from Arnie and Stallone are the reason why Die Hard was such a hit. It was a major difference to see a hero actually take significant damage and not just waltz through armies with barely a scratch.
Yes, Arnold did do that. Great to see you reacting to this. Always a nice surprise and reaction. Thank you for a neat reaction, bunnytails 💯 May the bunnytails be with you 🐰!
The girl who played Cindy, Rae Dawn Chong, is that daughter of Tommy Chong, half of the old comedy duo Cheech and Chong. Bun, James Horner basically borrowed much of his own music here from an earlier action movie, 48 HRS, the big screen debut of Eddie Murphy, so if you see that you'll recognize a lot. (The director here was a relatively minor talent, Mark L. Lester, who also helmed the movie Firestarter.) My favorite Arnold movie is Total Recall, but I do like these smaller throwaway action vehicles where he gets to make James Bond quips as people die -- I think his last really great one in that vein was 1996's Eraser. Thanks!
Thank you for another great reaction and thank you for all your videos 🙂 Also I like the music at the end of your videos, with bunnies. The music is good IMO and the bunnies are cute. I read this comment somewhere: at timestamp 38:03 "Bennet gets a Super Mario power-up and gets stronger".
This was released at the height of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone's rivalry and was made as a satire to one of the Rambo films. Other Arnold Schwarzenegger films i recommend watching are Conan the Barbarian, Predator, The Running Man, Red Heat, Twins, Total Recall, Last Action Hero, True Lies and Eraser
Another fun reaction video, Commando is one of my favourites having watched a lot of action movies back in the 80s with friends on VHS. Hopefully when you watch more films where James Horner is the composer, you will notice and pick up upon his style especially for SCI FI and Fantasy films.
I’ve seen this movie many times and your reaction was so enjoyable and rejuvenated my love for it the same way that electricity jolted Bennet into a second wind during the end fight.
Love this movie! It was the first Arnold movie I saw in full, and the first Arnold movie I owned on VHS. Thanks for reacting to it; I could tell you had fun watching it, as I did, and I had a great time watching your reaction to it!
I love this movie! Commando has such a great sense of humor to it. It's really more of an action/comedy then an pure action movie. It totally knows what it it is, with the over the top action mixed with comedy. This was the first movie that showed how funny Arnold could be.
I have been on a number of flights to Asia and Australia that were over 11hrs - usually 12 to 16 hrs (from New York). Many people (usually heavy-set men over 50) that have died in-flight from a condition known as Arterial Thrombosis. That is why they advise NOT to drink alcoholic cocktails on those long flights (the thinner Air brings it on quickly), which is why they now make people do leg and arm exercises every 4 hours or so. One of my old bosses passed that way on a flight from Chicago to Paris during a 10-hr flight. It's tough, since being in Business or First Class allows you to drink as much as you want for no extra charge. By the way, I saw this movie in the mid 90's with my 8-yr old son (who was born in 1986) on HBO. I loved it - Pure Arnold the Terminator. That son later became a U.S. Marine and is now a Deputy Sheriff in North Carolina.
James Horner. Star Trek II. He's friggining awesome! Plus Power Station at the end...chef's kiss. Best Arnold is The Predator. Also, another great soundtrack!
James Horner is one of the best film composers ever, right up there with Jerry Goldsmith and John Williams. Speaking of Arnold, Predator and True Lies come highly recommended by me. Thanks for the great content!
Loved, loved, loved your reactions to this movie. Several times iyou had a cross between shock and humor on your face like the scene where the guy's arm gets chopped off. It was as though you wanted to laugh but were so horrified at the same time. Thank you again for another great reaction video.
Brakes work even if the power is out. I once was driving down the mountain out of a ski resort when the car died. A 7000 lb Suburban. Fortunately for everyone, one of my very few superpowers is being a very large man, so I could apply enough pressure
Yep. If the engine is out, you lose the "brake booster" and steering assist, but both systems continue to function even without power. It just requires more force to achieve the same effect. That, of course, is with traditional automobiles. Some current vehicle designs are starting to go full "drive by wire." That is, pure electronic control with no PHYSICAL link in the control system. I would personally never drive in any car with that installed. The laws of physics never break, never fail. Electronics can, and do, fail... and regularly, at that. If a single flipped bit could make my car steer left when I try to steer right ... no thank you!
This was the best reaction for Commando I have seen thus far... I just LOVE you rocking to the soundtrack.😎 Not many reators notice the music from the films they post. James Horner is one of my most favorite composers.
I loved this reaction to commando. Your reactions are amazing bunny, This movie has the mix of action and funny. Bonus points for adding rocket launcher sound from metal slug
Fun movie! Jenny was played by Alyssa Milano who went on to charm the world. Cindy was played by Rae Dawn Chong, daughter of Tommy Chong of Cheech and Chong fame. She's done some interesting stuff, including Quest for Fire and The Color Purple. You might enjoy the 1990 production of Total Recall. It's another Arnold sci-fi movie co-starring Sharon Stone, Michael Ironside, and Trek veterans Ronny Cox, Robert Picardo, and Lycia Naff. Like Blade Runner, it was inspired by a short story by Phillip K. Dick. It's a little silly at times, but it's a very fun watch.
Alyssa Milano all growed up, showing off her stuff on a USO tour in the early 2000's: www.alyssa-j-milano.com/images/albums/USO%20Tour%202/AM_28529.jpg
I used to take an 18 hour flight (the longest route in the world at the time). One recommendation if you're young: drink lots of water.if you're not, also get up to walk more than you think you need to
Hard to pick a favorite Arnold movie as there's quite a few really good ones; but, if pressed, I'd have to say Conan The Barbarian - not just a favorite Arnold movie, but one of my all time favorite movies period. The success of that film pretty much launched an entire genre of imitator films in the early to mid-80s that I call "Warrior of the Wasteland" and/or "Sword and Sorcery" films. Anyway, it's really good and you should react to it on your channel. Nice reaction for this one. Until next time.
The "bombs" that Arnie plants were Claymore mines, used primarily as boobytraps for enemy soldiers to trigger via a tripwire. They were first and most famously used in Vietnam, where they were often attached to trees as well as stuck into the ground, with the wire stretched across known trails used by the NVA and Viet Cong.
My favorite Arnold movie are Terminator 2, Predator, Kindergarten Cop, Last Action Hero, True Lies and Jingle all the Way. I forgot Alyssa Milano is in this movie, 80's movie Soundtracks are the best. When he threw the blade at the guys head and he went bald and that guy getting his arm cut off was awesome as fuck.
Hey bunny, it’s me your friend, James! I love your videos. What a heartbreaking, but also heartwarming story about your late father. I like to point out some things about commando- a movie that I know since childhood best thing about being a kid in the 80s was watching movies you were too young for like Arnie so you know how the formula goes and how every action movie Has to be bigger and better than the last one. Well, coming from terminator commando is actually better than the Terminator in many ways. He rips the seat out of a car. You know those are both it in right. He lives a grown man in a telephone booth over his head and throws it Incredible Hulk style. He breaks a chain lock off of a fence just using his bare hand, like he-man. Jumped out of an airplane unhurt those go like 200 miles an hour before they takeoff. As you do after he gets shot in the arm in the end, he seeks no medical attention, but Justin‘s dad carries his daughter away on with that arm, I think. He swings like Tarzan, which a terminator wouldn’t be doing ever. It would take some kind of superhuman strength for the force. It would take to impale cook on that table leg. I’ve studied this movie extensively. I love it. It’s the ultimate toxic male fantasy. Just for fun check out the parity TH-cam movie commando ninja. We’ll talk about it later. Ha ha. Please check out the trailer. The action sequence is almost shot for shot the same thing as the end of commando.
Oh- that log in the beginning had to weigh 1000 lbs. he carried it like styrofoam 🤔 I still don’t understand how that steam is supposed to be blasting out of the pipe that impaled Bennet- it would have to go ALL THE WAY THRU! and suck the air out of (something) 🤷🏿♂️ I learned behind the scenes Sully had to be held up over that cliff BY A CRANE! because no one can hold a grown man by the ankle that way with one arm! The weight distribution is too unbalanced (Arnold himself had to explain that to the 😍 starstruck director!)
Alyssa Milano was already popular as a child star for her character, Samantha Micelli, on the TV series, Who’s the Boss? (1984-1922). She went to play one of the Halliwell sisters on Charmed (1998-2006). Rae Dawn Chong is the daughter of Tommy Chong of the famous duo, Cheech and Chong. Her breakout film was the brilliant Quest for Fire (1981) with Ron Perlman. Coincidentally, she was also in The Color Purple (1985) with Whoopi Goldberg, directed by Steven Spielberg. As for recommended Arnold movies, you should really see True Lies (1994), as that is another James Cameron film and Bill Paxton is in it as well. Then there is his breakout film, Conan the Barbarian (1982), Predator (1987), Red Heat (1988), Twins (1988), and, Total Recall (1990). Arnold does two things well, action and comedy films. He’s actually a funny guy.
The "rocket launcher" is a four-round incendiary rocket launcher designated the M202 FLASH. It was adopted as a "safer" replacement for backpack style flamethrowers. Hostile forces developed a nasty habit of aiming at the huge tank of flammable liquid on the back of the soldiers armed with flamethrowers. The M202 warhead was filled with {IIRC} red phosphorus, a material that spontaneously ignites and burns when exposed to oxygen in the atmosphere. There were apparently some problems with the warheads on the rockets, making them somewhat less "safe" than planned. The "bombs" he deployed around the barracks buildings were Claymore antipersonnel mines. The mines consist of a curved plastic shell filled with plastique explosive. The convex face of the mine had several hundred steel balls embedded in the face of the plastique, creating shrapnel.
Thank you so much, #bunnytailsREACTS, for uploading this awesome movie reaction. I love your content so much because it's so amazing, and I really enjoy watching your reactions to different TV shows and movies.
The last sequence always made me laugh out loud since I was little watching this. They were dying so easily I'm surprised he didn't just pick up some bullets, throwing them into a group of enemies, and they dropped dead all dramatically. My one complaint is that there was a severe absence of fake prosthetic Arnie heads in this movie, like we saw in both Terminator movie's, where my obsession with fake Arnie heads began. I was also hoping to hear him go "Ahhhh, you gaaat meeee, fah-neeeeee" when his daughter dotted his nose with ice cream.
Another great one I do love the “What did you do with Sully?” “I let him go” 🤣 he is the one liner king for sure! Another Arnold I think you would really like is the 6th day about cloning Arnold gets cloned mayhem ensues near future sci-fi
This is a laugh a minute movie. My sons and I crack up watching this. His best one, in my opinion, is Predator, with Arnie and Carl Weathers ( Apollo Creed from Rocky ). Loved your reaction at 34:55
He couldn't have said "Hasta la vista, baby!" because this movie was made in 1985. It wasn't a catchphrase for him until T2. His daughter is best known for Who's the Boss? and Charmed.
They first released it on DVD in 2007. It's only about 90 seconds longer according to the Wikipedia with mostly just the gore reinserted. Like the scenes I remember most getting changed up is when he kills all the soldiers in the shed.
My favorite Arnold movie is without question, the great action fim, "True Lies". Tom Arnold is amazing and very heroic in that film. I think there's another Arnold in it but I forget his name. Probably some minor character who gets killed off early.
The daughter is played by Alyssa Milano who was in Who's The Boss (1984-1992), Charmed (1998-2006), and Mistresses (2013). In Guardians of the Galaxy ship is named The Milano after her.

The actor who plays the president/general (head bad guy) is actually a comedy actor and stars at times in Cheers. He is very funny.
The actor who played Bennet is an Aussie! Aussie Aussie Aussie! Oi Oi Oi! 🙂
James Horner is one of the best film composers ever, right up there with Jerry Goldsmith and John Williams. Speaking of Arnold, Predator and True Lies come highly recommended by me. Thanks for the great content!
Predator soundtrack done by the great Alan silvestri.
@@MitchClement-il6iq Yes, I believe he also did the Back to the Future series also!
@@helifanodobezanozi7689 back to the future, Forrest Gump, the avengers movies, cast away, inner space, flight of the navigator.... extc.
25:33 "Okay. We're not _actually..._ buying stuff."
I mean, I'm sure John _would've_ been willing to pay for it if the place had been open. 🤷♂
Haha thanks Juanka!
The soundtrack is chef's kiss😘 I listen to it on the regular.
So good!
The actor that played Bennett also played a bad guy in the movie “Mad Max II: The Road Warrior” with Mel Gibson. You’ll enjoy it!
Alyssa Milano all growed up, showing off her stuff on a USO tour in the early 2000's:

I used to take an 18 hour flight (the longest route in the world at the time). One recommendation if you're young: drink lots of water.if you're not, also get up to walk more than you think you need to
Arnold went shopping California style!! 🤣🤣
😂
Hard to pick a favorite Arnold movie as there's quite a few really good ones; but, if pressed, I'd have to say Conan The Barbarian - not just a favorite Arnold movie, but one of my all time favorite movies period. The success of that film pretty much launched an entire genre of imitator films in the early to mid-80s that I call "Warrior of the Wasteland" and/or "Sword and Sorcery" films. Anyway, it's really good and you should react to it on your channel.
Nice reaction for this one. Until next time.
The drums you mentioned are electric tom drums. With a lot of 60s upward compression processing.
I never saw the director's cut of Commando, but I do remember all the slice and dice kills in the tool shed.
Notice he said "I'll be back" before the Terminator movies. I guess they had to keep the lines simple, so he could remember them.
Hey. I just found out that the Schwarz celebrated the 40th anniversary of his US citizenship on the _17th._
32:53
"Ok, They Were Bombs"
Specifically, they were claymore mines
"We really want you to come back, John. Give us a chance to make your daughter an orphan." 😂
** supposed to be “bolted down” not both-in it 😞
Oh- that log in the beginning had to weigh 1000 lbs. he carried it like styrofoam 🤔 I still don’t understand how that steam is supposed to be blasting out of the pipe that impaled Bennet- it would have to go ALL THE WAY THRU! and suck the air out of (something) 🤷🏿♂️ I learned behind the scenes Sully had to be held up over that cliff BY A CRANE! because no one can hold a grown man by the ankle that way with one arm! The weight distribution is too unbalanced (Arnold himself had to explain that to the 😍 starstruck director!)
**justin’s dad? supposed to be instead (I think)
I just realised the "we lost him sir" radar operator is the same actor as for the "game over man" character in Aliens! Why didn't I see it before?
You mean like in Hot Shots: Part Duex?
@@zhaley1980 Ah, ah, someone got the reference!!!
James Horner is one of my favorite composers. Always nails the assignment.
The fictional country of Val Verde links this movie to the Die Hard and Predator franchises
Another great one I do love the “What did you do with Sully?” “I let him go” 🤣 he is the one liner king for sure! Another Arnold I think you would really like is the 6th day about cloning Arnold gets cloned mayhem ensues near future sci-fi
Absolutely love the look you have for this video 😊
I can't believe they added sound effects of Arnie ripping a handbrake on that dozer lmao
Great 80's movie right here ! 👍🇺🇸🇮🇹🇲🇽
This is a laugh a minute movie. My sons and I crack up watching this. His best one, in my opinion, is Predator, with Arnie and Carl Weathers ( Apollo Creed from Rocky ).
Loved your reaction at 34:55
Thanks!
He couldn't have said "Hasta la vista, baby!" because this movie was made in 1985. It wasn't a catchphrase for him until T2.
His daughter is best known for Who's the Boss? and Charmed.
No one expects LAX to take off directly into the everglades.
There's a director's cut? How was I not informed?
They first released it on DVD in 2007. It's only about 90 seconds longer according to the Wikipedia with mostly just the gore reinserted. Like the scenes I remember most getting changed up is when he kills all the soldiers in the shed.
My favorite Arnold movie is without question, the great action fim, "True Lies". Tom Arnold is amazing and very heroic in that film. I think there's another Arnold in it but I forget his name. Probably some minor character who gets killed off early.
I’ll watch True Lies at some point too 😁
34:53 "ahhh..." as he swings down. "aaaaahhhhhhhhheeeiiii " as the gore level increases. :P
Your reactions are hilarious!
