He was never the greatest footballer but he made a brilliant actor able to blend cheeky comedy with genuine menace.. His entire roll in gone in sixty seconds is pure comedy gold one long joke that runs for an entire movie.

One time I was going to go visit my brother. I told him I was bringing a movie for us to watch that I thought he'd like. He did that he had one for me to watch. When I got there, I brought Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels for him to watch, he had Snatch for me to watch.
Traditionally guns were broken down into three sections.... Lock is the firing mechanism..( flintlock, matchlock etc..) Stock and Barrel are self explanatory.. So the phrase Lock Stock and Barrel means the Whole thing. We have Two Smoking Barrels as it's a double barrel shotgun. For your next Guy Ritchie film you Have to see The Gentlemen

I was watching it when I moved to the shit hole known as Halls Creek in Western Australia in September 2001, I changed the channel on the TV to watch the latest episode but there was a breaking news story about a plane crashing into a building in New York. Yeah, that's one for the ages.
This, Tranispoting and Fight Club where the three films who's soundtrack defined the late 90's and early 00's for me. I can remember how ofter you'd hear them out at a pub or club. Iconic. 10/10.

The Gentlemen especially brings it full circle as it is a straight up homage to The Long Good Friday. Ritchie's "British Gangster" films are all heavily influenced by that film in particular. Down to the detail that two or three of Ritchie's regulars in his gangster films are in TLGF (including a young Jason Flemyng). Ack! Dexter Fletcher, not Jason Flemyng...

Great movie. Great soundtrack as well. And lots of big names (not all big back then yet), including Sting. And Vinnie Jones really shines. He might have a limited acting range, but he's good at what he does. Like in Snatch. Or the often overlooked "Mean Machine" a variation of the fantastic "The Longest Yard" from 1974.
This was one of my favorite times for movies. My girlfriend at the time and I saw this, Go, The Full Monty, Swingers, and some others all pretty close to each other.
Look, I don't mind Jason Statham doing The Transporter or the F&F series, but this is where I fell in love with that man. I want to see him do more of these kinds of movies again.
You should watch "the Gentlemen" what a fucking brilliant movie. The actors, the script, the plot, the way it is all told and shot, one of the best of these kinds of movies and so clever.

RocknRolla (2009) is another british gangstar comedy movie by Guy Richie.
Guy Ritchie's style you know? It could be a movie about a dog sniffing a cats butt but if it was in this style I would be totally engaged in it.

This was one of my favorite times for movies. My girlfriend at the time and I saw this, Go, The Full Monty, Swingers, and some others all pretty close to each other.
