I never would have thought that I would find naval architecture so interesting! What a great team and fascinating logic and engineering behind the Seawind! I could listen to Miryong talk about architecture all day long.
Wow - what a great interview! Miryong is incredible, totally eloquent and in what must be her 3rd (?) language. Clearly a very talented architect, lucky Seawind - Ruby Rose II will be amazing!
Four languages that have nothing in common with each other. Gives you an idea of how brilliant she is! I do hope she sees thes comments. Miryong, tu m’impressionnes énormément!
Charming, Humble and Super Talented: Miryong Yee is a real gem. Nice how she combines her talents from regular architecture and adds that to naval architecture. Seawind has a winner here. Happy Trails
As a boat builder myself I really appreciated her approach. I take a very similar approach, 1st what systems have to be in place and next how can I maximize the usable space and make it blend and look beautiful at the same time. Not all naval architects get the later parts, some get fixated simply on systems and it seems an after thought to make good use of space and make it pleasing to the eye.
Oh for sure, we've definitely seen plenty of evidence of that. But I think cruisers expect some nod to comfort and beautiful design now, particularly liveaboards. Miryong has done an amazing job.
Wow, what a bad ass! She must be one of a handful of women developing and designing boats in the whole world! And no wonder. Her crossover knowledge from land architecture is obviously changing the whole approach to the 1370. I suspect she will get her wish to design superyachts some day.
Another spectacular video! Perhaps the best one for me. What a super professional team, and standing applause for Miryong's wonderful innovations! Thank you again for sharing, Kevin
Such an insightful interview with the wonderful Miryong! Please do more interviews like this--we get to learn so much about the thousands of behind-the-scenes decisions that go into boat design and building.
What a great interview with a beautiful and talented woman. This should be shown in every high school in the world and the fact that she could explain the engineering in multible languages is incredibly inspiring.
Miryong has such talent and meticulous attention to detail. She handled being the subject of an interview for 154,000 suscribers quite well. On-camera interviews with microphones clipped to your shirt is very challenging and not in most peoples "normal" activity. Great questions Nick. I loved that you drove into the creative process and visual perspective rather an sailing jibber jaber. The 1370 is very pleasing to the eye. I can't wait to get your thoughts on how it sails.
Seriously, along with some of your explanations of Vietnam life & people, this is one of your best, guys. What you are showing us is not only good for all of us, I can't imagine the value you are providing for Seawind & the catamaran community. Seawind can be so proud of their entire team, but especially this person. The imagination, style & practicality is super impressive. Thank you 🙏✌️
Best build interview. And there has been a lot on UT these days. I was not expecting as interesting conversation, but the designer was very interesting and you guys had a great vibe. Thanks!
I’ve seen several build videos, but this is the first Navel Architect that makes sense which makes it much easier to understand what they do and why. Great interview and introduction to the rest of the design team.
Utterly fascinating. The whole concept of combing building architecture to define a visually appealing living space with the lightweight construction demanded in a performance cat has resulting in a very appealing and functional set of living spaces that are just gorgeous. Well done to Miryong and her team along with the Seawind construction teams. The 1370 is going to be a truly beautiful boat, inside and out.
That was a real bonus interviewing Miryong. Bringing her wealth of knowledge and experience to the design makes for a vessel so close to what you both wished for from the onset. I can’t wait to see it all come together. Thank you for another excellent video!
Learning skills is one thing, and learning them well is very apparent here. HOWEVER, bringing style, panache, elegance and originality to the project shows just how competent Yee Miryong is. Thank you for sharing this great insight!
Just one opinion, but I thought this was incredibly informative. That lady is brilliant, and has a future ahead of her. It is a rare gift to be able to fuse the "required/necessary" with the things that please the human eye, and bring form through to follow function in a way that resembles art. Hearing her speak about the process was a real treat.
Great episode. Seawind is lucky to have hired/discovered Miryong. Obviously wicked smart and talented. She speaks Vietnamese, French and English that we know about. Standard architecture design and then naval architecture. That explains why the 1370 is such a beautiful boat, both inside and out.
My dads best friend was an interior builder for wellcraft In Sarasota (srq) in the 70’s, I have so much more respect for his job now. And the cabinet he built for me lasted many years. Thanks I learned a bunch. Yes the boat does look bigger because it’s there is more of it. Lol😊
Nick... fascinating video! As an architect myself it was so interesting to hear from the designer and the integration of traditional architecture into naval architecture.
That was very interesting Nick, the "look" of the interior is quite unique and now we know why. Miryong's background in architecture is obvious (now that we know) and in a sense reminds me of the first cruising cat I fell in love with. Way back when, Chris White designed the Atlantic 40 and his center cockpit concept not only accommodated the needs of the sailor but also lent itself to the twin queen sized berths astride the cockpit. This was radical at the time and always made me think of terrestrial architecture because every space on the boat was just like you'd find in a small home.
Excellent interview. She really accomplished her goal of the illusion of more space in the cabin. It looks fantastic. The whole boat is pretty amazing. You both are going to love it, imho.
So enjoyed this interview with very gifted Miryong & her Team. Miryong’s creativity developed into clever practical application, resulting in such beauty to enjoy everywhere & way on the SW1330, has been very informative and pleasurable to see. Giving credit where credit is due is respect 🎉 Nicely done! Good work Nick, Thanks!
This was a very interesting vid... as an architect - that wanted to go into naval design- but was warned and didnt - this is very good stuff. And this boat look like a leap into next level for Seawind.
Wow. She has done some serious PhD education levels and maybe more. Extremely interesting. She hopes to continue growing and developing in her career. I’m thinking one day she may be a leader in her profession, maybe papers, books etc. looks like you guys made a GREAT choice in company to partner with. Best of luck. I can’t wait to see RR2 in action ❤
It has been so much fun to find something I was unaware of. It is really interesting and mind blowing to realize that she has almost limitless options. How interesting is that? Thank you for this eye opener. It makes us all realize how much we don't know.
That was the most interesting interview you have ever done. As I am currently playing around with the design of a small studio apartment for myself I can appreciate some of the challenges she has. Wish I knew even just a small fraction of what she knows.
Great interview. Deck surface design suggestion: theres a used Knyssa 500 on YT that Nautilus Management offered a few months ago. It had a gorgy black trampoline mesh with cork deck on that vid at four minutes 15 sec's. Those colors work very well!
Would it be possible to ask them if it is possible to incorporate an Eco Drive ( Similar to what is used with HH44 and HH52) with the required solar array and battery bank with the 1730?
As a builder not boats a lot of architects forget about the runs for the wires or the pipes. It has got better over the last few years. I am lost for words how good your boat is, i just want to see her wet and under way with sails.
Hopefully Miryong will tackle an update to the Corsair 760, that might just give her the "race boat" challenge she was talking about while remaining with Seawind.
Absolutely fantastic episode Nick and Teresa. I found this to be very interesting. Being able to design boats isn't my dream job, but it's close. Thank you. I would be interested in finding out what 3D-CAD platform they use?

This is one of my favorite build interviews so far - absolutely fascinating to get that insight from Miryong. She's wonderful!
Thank you! I agree- this topic was so interesting!
Highly intelligent, articulate, charming, and interesting 👍 Miryong and her team. 👏
🙏
i was hoping for more details actually. I guess that's why i'm an engineer.
Wow - what a great interview! Miryong is incredible, totally eloquent and in what must be her 3rd (?) language. Clearly a very talented architect, lucky Seawind - Ruby Rose II will be amazing!
Yes, she's Korean so speaks Korean, French, English and Vietnamese. She's done a great job of the design of the 1370.
What an impressive person Miryong is. Can't wait to see the results.
Four languages that have nothing in common with each other. Gives you an idea of how brilliant she is! I do hope she sees thes comments. Miryong, tu m’impressionnes énormément!
Intelligent and Fascinating Woman. Excellent Interview ! Thank You for the Video ! 😎
Realy no need for subtitles .
quite wonderful to hear all the background! thanks for sharing this with us!

Yeah the job offers will come flooding in
One of the best "Build" Videos yet! Fascinating!
Another spectacular video!
Perhaps the best one for me.
What a super professional team, and standing applause for Miryong's wonderful innovations!
Thank you again for sharing,
Kevin
Thank you very much!
Her multi-faceted and multi-dimensional approach to the build is fascinating. This boat is going to be awesome, I bet.
Yep, she can explain every detail to you in 4 languages
This is all about the joy of problem solving. Add in the challenge of people, training and experience and the results are very satisfying.
What a great challenge. Design plus the reality review. Great job
Glad you liked it!
On some aspects I prefer other cats, but the interior renderings of this one are something to behold. She did a marvellous job on the interior design!
This was fascinating. I loved it.
Brilliant lady and what a gift to interviewing her!
She’s amazing

EXCELLENT work Miryong and You too Nick. It is great to see just how much planning and effort goes into the boats behind the scenes!
Many thanks!
Exciting chapter, the building and all the aspects that are put into the design are very interesting to learn about
Glad you think so!
Fantastic interview - and good to see the Vietnamese team in the foreground.

I think she hit the nail on the head,Well done !!
Best build interview. And there has been a lot on UT these days.
I was not expecting as interesting conversation, but the designer was very interesting and you guys had a great vibe. Thanks!
Yeah, it was a good one!
Miryong, you did a beautiful job on the 1370. You have a lot to be proud of. 👍
Thank you very much!
Best build series out there. Great description of use of 3D space. Great designs.
Great Interview! Miryong is VERY Impressive. The Conductor of Boat Building Symphony! A future Owner/CEO!! 😎
We agree!
I’ve seen several build videos, but this is the first Navel Architect that makes sense which makes it much easier to understand what they do and why. Great interview and introduction to the rest of the design team.
Glad it helped!
Very good video. Thank you for the insights. I always enjoy listening to the thought processes of the people who build sailboats.
Our pleasure!

Very interesting Thanks for having Miryong on as you have mentioned her numerous times.

Everything people have said + what a beautiful woman.
These behind the scenes episodes are huge favourites of mine. Miryong seems super-talented and, thanks to you, will be better known. Brilliant stuff.
Glad you like them!
Best episode yet in the build series. Great high level view of the process.
Wow, thanks!
She's brilliant👏👍
Yes I could geek out on this for hours, thanks for that content. Miryong was great. The more I see of this build the more I want to know. Thanks

Yeah and none of those are her native Korean tongue! Also, she is a crazy talented artist. Her paintings are insanely good

Wow what an amazing interview that was very enjoyable and insightful! The 1370 is going to be one sexy looker on the water!!
Can’t wait to see you folks back on the water in this ship.
Us too
Wow, outstanding content. It's nice to see what actually happens and the ideas, the creativity and the team effort to make a nice new boat.
Yep, super interesting.
@@sailingrubyrose Fascinating to hear another perspective from the unsung hero’s, thanks for sharing .

Glad you enjoyed it!
Fantastic. Absolutely fantastic. Love this video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
A very smart and talented lady ... And she's also got the eye for detail thats lacking from some purely structural designers.
Thank you

Great interview. Now we can see where RR2 beauty comes from.
Gives a great perspective on how much work and thought goes into everything. Functional as well as aesthetically pleasing.
Great interview. Impressive young lady.
I made a post on the seawind site concerning the 1190... thank you for making this video! she is one of the people I would like to talk with sometime
So inspirational. Peace.

Fascinating.
Lovely episode! Lovely designer! Lovely team! A most inspiring cup of coffee for myself! Great work guy!
Thank you! Cheers!
This is gonna be one gorgeous boat fast and proper seagoing
She is indeed
Seawind designs around a protected helm station while most boat manufacturers design around a king size bed.
I know right?

Mi Ryong you are good, am also an architect which to go further to study naval architecture
Nick just curious did you happen to catch what 3D modeling software they were using, solid works, Catia, pro-e maybe?
Smart lady
Crazy smart
Excellent interview!
Thank you!
Hopefully Miryong will tackle an update to the Corsair 760, that might just give her the "race boat" challenge she was talking about while remaining with Seawind.
