- Join me and Liam on the East Lancashire Railway for the 2024 Diesel Gala, as we ride trains and drink beer and enjoy a weekend away from our partners 🤣 sorry H!
Starting early in Lichfield I catch a local train to Stafford where I meet Liam and we catch our train to Manchester Picadilly. Due to a cancelled tram we Uber to the final destination of the East Lancs before enjoining a long day, a Premier Inn and a Sunday return home.

I love the whole experience, the trains, the countryside, the stations. I actually love travelling by rail, the locomotive, the stations, travelling down the Hudson into Manhattan and the intermediate stops.
Yeah it’s the nostalgia with these days for me, memories of my youth 🙏

Couple of weeks and I’m on the GWR for their gala then end of July off to Skeggy on the 40!
Some of those Loco's were in amazing condition and nice to see. Had to laugh at all the old blokes running when you were walking along the triple header, made me think they all needed a pee😂😂Cheers K.

Great vid Rick, good to see another vid on this channel, as you know I went on the East Lancs Railway last year, I didn’t go from Heywood, I went from Bury due to the metro connections from Manchester.
It’s a nice day out though, did you visit the pub in the station at Rawtenstall?
It’s not easy to find time fo run one You tube channel let alone find enough time and content for 2 channels so I understand the reason for lack of content.
Some great locos on that line, great sounds and nice countryside around there too.
