    Some people say oil changes are only necessary every 10000 miles with full synthetic but more often cannot hurt and actually only be beneficial for the life of the engine especially when putting a lot of miles under dusty conditions.

    I personally use BG Platinum 44K fuel system cleaner. Napa as I know is only chain store to carry it. For good reason. Its about $40 a can but the best fuel system cleaner on the market. I chose quality over quantity. Use every oil change as well. Including, BG MOA to improve fuel efficiency & improve oil life & longevity from breakdown over time. I also use BG RF-7 to improve viscosity & seal piston rings to prevent blowby & improve compression, being I have a 21yr old ford ranger with 245k that doesn't skip a beat. I like to use BG EPR "engine performance restoration" once a year to clean entire internal engine of sludge, varnish & carbon deposits! Proof in the puddin lol 🤙🏻

    Nice videos. One food for thought when you are rotating those big heavy tires. Don’t use the your back or set them on your legs. Great for getting injured. Instead get yourself a big pry bar and put it under the tire and use the long bar with the leverage to do the work. Save your back.

    FYI OEM oil filters can be had for $5 or less from the dealer... Just because it's oem doesn't mean it's "more expensive" same can be said for a lot of service items. Also "snake oil in a can" is a waste unless you let your car sit with e10. No need for "cleaners" in the fuel system unless you take short trips and not get the engine hot

    Some people recomend for the oil change to drive the vehicle a short time before draining the oil because I guess hot oil flows better and the oil picks up more of all the wastes.? Also some people, who go by what the dipstick shows recomend to fill oil till the full mark, drive it a bit to have the oil go everywhere (oil filter) then recheck the dipstick and refill accordingly. Finally I was suprised to see the silver tacoma gone and a white one in it's place.? Anyway great video.!

    The only oil filter for the 3.5L that compares with toyota's OEM is WIX, so nothing wrong there. However Havoline's detergents is subpar to OEM which is contracted 0W20 Mobil 1 synth, so I'd quit using that, only only oil I'd go with over OEM is Royal Purple dexos, not that XPR stuff in 0W20. I also average around 26k/yr and in cold climates so I care a lot more about engine/trans/diff condition than suspension, tires and brakes.

      Yes. Zero rubbing, confirmed all over the internet w/ no lift. But if ga$ milage (every bit helps) in this Brandon economy is an issue, stick w/ stock size (granted 265/75r16 is only one bump up) and a more A/T aggressive look/design than the stock "all seasons". Chloe's HEAVY KO2's - E rated - virtually no need for that weight on tacomas - they are a drag on what the truck's engine, etc. was designed for. There are better choices in terms of weight.

    I read that Mobile 1 Full synthetic oil makes toyota brand oil. So i use Mobile 1 and instead of the 0W20 i use 5W20 and a WIX filter

    Try Valvoline Synthetic beyond excellent, test prove. And Napa platinum filters. My 2001 4runner has 430K runs so smooth

    Take mine to the dealer every 5k for oil change and rotation. I think I pay $86 which seems like a pretty fair price. I clean my own K&N air filter myself.

    There’s a video out there showing that the oem oil filter is the worse when it come to filtering

    I have the same motivx oil filter wrench and it always gets stuck on the housing it’s a pain and I always have to knock it out how do I afford that

    You should check out Baxter performance oil adapters. You can then use a spin on low profile filter. It's so much easier than Toyota oil filter housing filters. Plus more filter material to filter the oil. Also, those plastic oil filter housings can get cracks, leak and cause engine failure.

      Toyota engineers know what they are doing. If it came plastic it’s ok to use. Sure they’ll crack if you over tighten them. But if you know what your doing they are fine.

      @@charleysantiniJust google "toyota cracked filter housing". Crappy design. It will crack taking them off too. Plastic and heat don't mix.

      @charleysantini ปีที่แล้ว

      @@clairebear5029 oh I’m sure they’re are some out there that have cracked. But I’m willing to bet it was more user error then anything else. The Care Car nut did a video on these. He says they’re perfectly fine to use, like I said Toyota engineers wouldn’t approve of something that will break on it own. I’m sure they took heat into consideration when designing them also.

      @@charleysantini Metal > Plastic. Plastic is there for lightweight and Planned obsolescence. Just like the lifetime tranny fluid changes LOL and the lack of a fluid dipstick on new highlanders.

    • @charleysantini
      @charleysantini ปีที่แล้ว

      @@clairebear5029 yeah I never understood that whole tranny thing with Highlanders. I actually just came from a 2022 Highlander XLE. I was like …wtf? 😂 but I hear ya on the plastic. Trust me I understand. I was going to change my filter housing on the highlander to a metal one. But after I watched car care nut do a review on it, it made sense. I think also using the right filter removal tool makes all the difference with those. Lots of crappy tool designs out there. Some people probably bought a cheap one and jacked up the housing using it. Then over torquing the hell out it. I know you understand proper torque specs cause I saw you use one on your tire rotation video. Btw. Keep up the great vids. Glad I found you!!
