Aki and Botan are pretty equal when it comes to their respective roles but Botan is a little slow compared to Aki. Aki is countered by characters with shorter ranges and faster hit speeds ie Korone, Fubuki and Ayame.

I just checked that Aki player's Steam profile. They have literal tons of hours in other FGs. No wonder they picked her up so early when they only have like 70h in ISD.

The Japan FGC is leaning towards Fubuki when it's come against Aki (and they're probably pick Fubuki for the 2nd strongest chara), Yes they're agree on Aki is broken level bcs of the zoning and teleport thingy, but Fubuki Tail Sweep deal with both of them (like a lot of time they shoot projectiles and try teleport, but the sweep is just go through the projectiles while also hitting Aki when she's arrive)

A shoryuken, for example, is extremely minus and you have a long time to punish it. The other character that was patched was Coco that also had an infinite I think? Also the different assist that most people dont use cause they think they are silly. That Aki main knew what they were doing, soon more people will probably find more busted strats with the other characters.

Nah, Botan got patched because she had a literal infinite that no one except Aki could fight back against as she could do Muki stomp during the gap. Aki's strings have a ton of gaps in them. It's just a matter of knowing when to challenge and what opportunity to act on.
What am I supposed to do on ayame? I get zoned out by every character's normals, zoned out by fireballs, can't take space without doing something unsafe, block strings you can just mash through because all her attacks are unsafe...
Pick a better assist and use her projectile invuln super to yeet yourself to the opp. Also you have a super that guarantees your turn after a combo for follow up pressure/conversions

As somebody for whom IS is the first fighting game ever I'm trying out for real, the "No Flinch" fight modifier in the singleplayer mode 90% of the times is just an "Oh, I guess I lose then" moment imo.

Sad he didnt play a good sora next. Sora is one of the few characters that can kinda go even with Aki. But shes much weaker against people like ayame and botan.

If you find some counterplay to Aki, I'd be interested, lol. So far, I've only found that Aki's summons seem to have little to no hit stun so mashing a long reaching normal after her slide might counter poke her regardless of it.
I wonder how they'll end up nerfing Aki. Nerfing any character that's really fun to play, but awful to play against seems difficult. What do you take away to make both sides happy?

Botan is launch Strive Sol but with half screen normals which all confirm into half hp bar combos with oki. This is AFTER the 8+ patches.

I love how Sajam rarely uses his assist. He's so used to play 1v1 fighters.
Assists are very rarely on deck in this game. Aki just has a special assist character tied to her heavies.

Sad he didnt play a good sora next. Sora is one of the few characters that can kinda go even with Aki. But shes much weaker against people like ayame and botan.
Also sora is a difficult character it hard for a good sora

If you find some counterplay to Aki, I'd be interested, lol. So far, I've only found that Aki's summons seem to have little to no hit stun so mashing a long reaching normal after her slide might counter poke her regardless of it.

I wonder how they'll end up nerfing Aki. Nerfing any character that's really fun to play, but awful to play against seems difficult. What do you take away to make both sides happy?

@No time for creative names just for games naw her damage is already cheeks. Slow the teleport down, or remove some of its invincibility. I hope they actually don't remove Muki Rose sometimes hitting you out of combos that's too funny not to keep.
Nerf the teleport, it shouldn't just be free action anytime in the match and I just have to hold it because she has 0 recovery on it.
Impossible as if Aki gets nerfed, others will fill that void. And with character types like Aki, one wrong nerf renders them dumpster tier due to the effort needed to play them
