    I belong to a church and we do a Latin Mass .. I don’t call us heretical I call Pope Francis a pope who follows the modern times ie; the lost instead of following Jesus Christ… so pope Francis is following the LOST

      well, that's just the same fallacy as claiming he is a heretic.....and in both cases, what you are doing (which you don't see), is proclaiming that the Church is not of Divine origin, and is not.eternally protected from. error by Jesus Christ, as is recorded in Holy Scripture.

    Pedro really kicked the ball out of the park in this interview with his explanation of how he chose the book's cover. I bought the kindle version and I've been seeing that cover through several social media outlets. The feature that stands out is the face of the old woman with the long and curved nose. Then comes what could have been a tricky question sent to Michael. With his detailed explanation, which happens to make a lot of sense i conveying the book's subject, Pedro shows that he put as much effort into selecting the cover, as in researching and writing this book.

    A major red flag of the traditionalist movement is their criticism against the living magisterium (aka The Pope) and the unnecessary and excessive devotion to “tradition”, or rather, what they interpret tradition to be.
    This is Protestantism in its newest form.

    Sounds like a great book, will look into it. I've seen some of the nonsense you've had to put up with, in comment sections and other things etc. You can definitely tell where the Holy Spirit is and isn't, by seeing how people talk to others and about others. Some have no supernatural charity and it shows. (I was in this camp not long ago) You're doing great work, and I appreciate that you're consistent and havent changed. . Would you ever consider asking Fr. Stephen Imbarrato to come on? He has been getting flak for defending the pope for a few months now. He talks about his change of heart he had about his attitude towards the pope sometime last year. He's mentioned you in some of his videos as well. Keep up this very important work, I will definitely check out this book, God Bless

    • @alternativefactory7190
      @alternativefactory7190 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @RuthenianCatholic333 I never said that the pope is the fullness of the church, but you have to have a leader. You have to have a person who calls councils and signs off decisions and teachings. They don't all come from him, but he says whether they are truth or not. Jesus prayed for peters faith. One tax paid for both Peter and christ when entering Jerusalem. They act as one. Why the chair of peter binds on earth is bound in heaven. The orthodox church can't come together and make decisions together because they don't have the pope to call councils or finalize them. There were more than a few councils that were held that rome didn't didn't so were official councils until the teachings were read and approved by the pope. Some never became official.

    • @alternativefactory7190
      @alternativefactory7190 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @RuthenianCatholic333 The pope is the one that called them, and the popes infalability was taught at many of them. I think it was the council of Ephesus that said the chair of peter will not be defiled until the end. The orthodox churches hold to these councils that teach papal supremacy but ignore it today. They say first among equals, but they can't even define what that means.

    Many of the ‘trads’ criticising the Pope don’t seem to know the faith much at all.
    I had to explain to some earlier that just because you have a distant relative that is either a declared Saint or died before the age of reason after Baptism so we know they also are Saints doesn’t equal to you being a Holy person.
    These people I was talking to genuinely think that piggybacking off some relative that is a Saint somehow makes you Holy on earth and will also be a Saint is insane and goes against Scripture - even Saint Paul didn’t take his salvation for granted and clearly told us our faith can be shipwrecked (1 Timothy 1:19), departed from (1 Timothy 4:1), disowned (1 Timothy 5:8) wandered/erred from (1 Timothy 6:10), and missed/erred from (1 Timothy 6:21).

    Anyone interested in Tradition and its meaning - read Cardinal Yves Congar's "The Meaning of Tradition". Congar was one of the major theological minds at work ahead of Vatican II in the Catholic Church (together with the likes of de Lubac). The Dominican Yves Congar also wrote "Tradition and Traditions: the biblical, Historical, and Theological Evidence for Catholic Teaching on Tradition"

    I am trying to take FS with a hermeneutic of continuity (as I see its danger) but I’m afraid I don’t think it is hilarious that people write things like FS off as “pope-splaining” at all as it is very serious to take an heretical position. I cannot see that it is laughable.

    • @MarilynBoussaid-yd1vk

      FIducia Supplicans did not change anything in the moral teachings of the Church. It was written because for years the Pope has been answering questions from those German bishops and others, who continued to ask the same questions he had already answered -- questions about blessings gay unions, and so on. The Document FS clarified (if people had read it carefully) that there was no change to the teachings of the Church on marriage, that the Church cannot bless sin, and it gave specific instructions for blessings of those in irregular relationships, permitting blessings of individuals, but not of couples, not blessing the relationship, not blessing the union. The document was very explicit and perfectly clear even to me, an ordinary lay Catholic, as ignorant as I am of theology and legal language. The problem arose when the media leaped to erroneous conclusions without studying the document. Anyone who listens to the media, including Catholic media, without doing their own research, is going to be brainwashed. I suggest you read the document carefully. It's available online in English, and is not very long. If I could read and understand it, so can you.

    In the case of fiducia supplicans, it’s true no theological errors are found in it
    But the issue is in the presumed fact that nearly all ppl, Catholic or not, will pay attention to the sound bites in reports, the heading in articles and pictures in various media that suggests the Church “has finally gotten up with the times”
    The whole thing sends the wrong message
    Again, no errors in FS but VERY FEW take time to look into that
    Also, FS really didn’t settle an issue that sinners can be blessed individually
    It seem that FS supplies opportunity for the attention whores that want to be noticed that they “can now be blessed” when this already existed 🤷🏼‍♂️
    FS didn’t really NEED to be promulgated but in reality it has preempted a platform for sketchy behavior being blessed
    Of course, I know, the clergyman has the discretion per individual
    But the “couples” pics, sound bits and headings are ssoooo damaging
    Lord help us!!🙏🏻

      The German Bishops had to be addressed - FS addressed the German Bishops making it clear they cannot do what they were doing/trying to do.
      Just because Catholics can’t be bothered going to the primary source and instead rely on MSM or their favourite catholic scandal porn provider for distorted views on the document - that is not the fault of Christs bride, that is a personal failing on every catholic who does that and feeds into it and believes it.

      So, I have seen Fr, James Martin's photo of his version of a "spontaneous, informal" blessing, and I have seen 2 (or 2 of the same event?) from 2021 in front of a cathedral in Germany, of a blessing of a same-sex couple.
      Have there been any others?

    • @virgil015
      @virgil015 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      As others have pointed out, the German bishops forced this. The one place I would have recommended an improvement is by replacing the word couple with group. After all, a group of pilgrims could surely receive such a blessing and have. A group can also be just two people. So nothing pastoral would have changed and I would assume we would have avoided a lot of the controversy. Of course those reading it with the hermeneutic of malice still would find something to carp on.
