Great video, the easiest most understandable video. Clear narration at a smooth pace which allows the viewer to learn each step of the process. Definitely following your channel...thanks again.
Turning your signature into a 3D print was a great exercise in the multiple procedures involved in getting a satisfying 3D print. Great stuff, the biggest surprise was at the end when you didn't "Sign Off" (a sign of the times, I guess). Thanks for sharing...
Brilliant tutorial, so easy to follow. I will use Affinity for cutting the letters (nearly the same as PS but much cheaper), I can save to PNG from Affinity. I will try the same convert program you used. Tinkercad is my favourite site to use for designing. I will be attempting to make a sign on a baseboard with the letters raised. Fingers crossed and thanks again
I just wanted to say thanks, your Da Vinci videos have been tremendously helpful. And Amazon just lowered the price to $399 - couldn't resist at that price, your videos really sealed the deal. Thanks again! Time to get modeling!
I cant believe that you only have 65 likes, you deserve more man! thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge because you really explain so easy and quiet, I like your style, keep doing this amazing videos! best regards from Buenos Aires, Argentina
At last an easy to follow video. Thank you! Is there a way to change the thickness of the print or does it just default? I'd like my words to print at about 4-5mm. Thanks
I followed your directions, but converted from .png to .stl. I’m using Chitubox and it keeps showing the background, so the shape is rectangular with the embossed text. Any ideas on how to take the background off?
I tried this with a png file saved from photoshop, followed all your steps to the letter and it came out as a black rectangle with white lines where the letters outline...... am i missing something?
Same issue I have. I prepared a png text than I can see a black bulk. maybe the example has a single line. that is why we have the same problem. I put lines between letters, have a progress but not enouh
Technologically challenged - Are there 3D materials that could print simple letters (actually I just need braille dots) to a material that could be glued or otherwise adhered to a substrate, say a piece of cardboard or wood? Could it be printed directly on that material?
When I print with the da Vinci 1.0, I put down the glue that came with the machine, and pieces of the print come off the platform and move during the printing process. What can I do?!?!
I am new to 3D printing, and bought an Elegoo Mars 2 resin 3D printer. Will this work for that particular printer, or only on a filament printer like yours?
You can adjust the size in the software but everything would get bigger. It’s probably easier to just draw it thicker first using this method. Tinkercad now has a feature where you can draw freehand right in the software so that a better way to go. This video is a bit old.
Me again! It will print great to a point, then the tip will run into the already printed items and then the items will start sticking to the tip and moving around.
Can you covert one for me please? It needs to be one once tall, three inches wide and about a quarter inch thick if possible and have two mounting loops on each top corner to mount to a birdcage. It should read: JellyBean
Absolutely GREAT. Don't have a MAC but I can use Photoshop. This is what TH-cam is all about.. Keep up the good work.

How did it work out?
Thanks, this got me going in the right direction for a 3d print I was commissioned to do.
Glad it helped. This is an old video. Check out this feature in Tinkercad to make it even easier: th-cam.com/video/7qzHXQvxEy8/w-d-xo.html

did you happen to figure out this issue?
I need to do this with some typed text. I plan to print it inverted so that bed side can be the visible portion and will be very uniform :)

It would work on that.

New to 3D: how can I take a stl of a mug and add a personalized name to the mug
Can you import an SVG file into DesignSpark Mechanical and accomplish the same results?
I am not that familiar with 3-d printers, but can you make the name as thick as you want, or is that the thickness the name would have to be?

Hi could you of made the script in wire tool?
Not sure what that is but this is an old video. Lots of options now.
@@FilamentFriday thanks for the reply, my goal is to create name like you did and create a necklace. Which basic software would you recommend? .
Be cool if there was a non-mac option mentioned
🔥💕👍
