Definitely the best lobster video I've found here on YT. Down to earth, no rambling monologues, just what you need to know. I followed it and was very pleased with the results which were very tasty! thanks!
This video is superbly made. I prepared a lobster for the first time today, exactly as you did in the video. My guests were very impressed Thank you very much
Wow , how informative as a keen fisherman, and amateur fish cook i have found all your videos a must to my cooking of fish adventures .....please tell me what make of knives do you use as this seems to make prep and filleting even easier cheers hope you keep making these videos
Hi Nick, sorry for the delay in reply. Yes, exactly the same for a British Lobster - they're very similar, and have the same anatomy, so follow the instructions and they'll work for you. If you need any more info, email me on sue@passionateaboutfish.co.uk
LoL, suggest you read something different because it's wrong. "YES" you never cook a lobster with bands on, but it sure don't affect the tenderness of the claw or any part of the lobster. What it does is make the lobster taste like rubber.
I will pass on that TYVM, I don't want my lobster cooked with bands on. Nor would ever shell or want one shelled like that. BTW l'm fishermen the south shore of N.S and have never heard of putting a lobster in ice water after cooking. If you want to stop the cooking process in the shell, take it out of the boiling water a few min before and let it finish cooking.. Who wants to eat ice cold lobster anyway, plus it dilutes the juices of the lobster. Yeah l might let you make me a peanut butter & jam sandwich.
This is the fourth video I've watched but the first one that shows in detail which parts to remove - vein etc. Thank you.

I’ve read that the lobster shouldn’t be cooked with the rubber bands on the claws. It affects the tenderness of the claw meat...
