Leicester fan here. Injuries have killed us this season rather than an ageing squad. That being said, challenging for the top 4 is an exception rather than the norm. No long time City fan would expect us to be there season after season. Tielemans and maybe Maddison will leave at the end of the season. Vardy will be thinking about retirement. Genoa have been circling the drain for some years now mainly down to a transfer policy which belongs back in the 00s. Frankly they have close to relegation for the last 5 years. It is a shame they have a fairly productive youth academy and reasonable income and a great reputation.
As a Genoa fan, its sad to see the team slowly become worse and worse, older and older. The best players are all past their prime and our best young talents are loaned from big clubs. I wish Preziosi didn't run Genoa on a shoestring budget. I miss Gian Pierro Gasperini.
Mentions Leicester, but not Everton? When was the last time Everton won anything? Leicester are still high off winning the PL with a championship team. With the FA cup last season, we feel zero trouble.
As a Derby fan not the chart to be number one. Would not wish the torment we have gone through to any other fan of any club in the world. Irony is that the owner stated about 5 years ago that he wanted to have a team of youngsters brought through from the academy to play in the Premier league and we have ended up having to sell the better ones for peanuts in order to stay in business and the more experienced players that we spent millions on have been allowed to leave for free as their contracts have expired. Income tax has not been paid since 2016, no wonder we are in a mess. Fingers crossed a new owner is in the pipeline in the near future and Wayne Rooney can pull off a miracle. Aside of Celtic & Rangers, Aberdeen are arguably the biggest club in Scotland, and they have never been relegated from any division, and in the top flight since 1905. Also they are last Scottish team to win a European trophy, and the only one to win 2 European trophies. However, they have gone downhill fast since sacking their last 2 managers, both unnecessary imo, and find themselves in a precarious position and with an outside chance of relegation for the 1st time this season, having failed to make the top 6 before the split. Also, bad publicity concerning long serving player Andrew Considine has not helped.

Genoa is basically the farm team for Juventus. Any Juve youth player that is ready for Series A minutes but find their pathway blocked by a veteran on a team looking to win trophies finds themselves on Genoa. Its worked out well for both teams as Juve gets minutes for their kids and Genoa can field a competitive team without having to drop a ton of cash in the transfer market. Heart of Midlothian have been through this but are now the biggest fan owned club in Britain and things are looking up. I wish all these clubs and their fans to get through their difficulties and onto better times.
I've watched a lot of serie A on BT sport this season. Genoa had an amazing 3-3 draw against Hellas Verona early on, but after that they were dreadful. No organisation. No passion. I think I saw five games of theirs in a row when they didn't score as well. And in that 6-0 against Fiorentina you could at one point see their keeper tell his defenders to just have a go and put some effort in. But in their last two games, under their latest manager, they're suddenly transformed. They've both been goalless draws but they have looked organised, committed, and really battled. Which leaves me thinking why they couldn't do that for Shevchenko. I think they're doomed for the drop, but they do look like they have a better future ahead.
