Huddersfield is a strange choice. Been there a few times as an away fan. Quite unique for a modern stadium. More interesting than Leicester, Southampton, hull etc.
The villa bought all the terraced houses to extend the now called Doug Ellis stand previously known as the Witton lane. Some of the terrace house still exist and I believe everyone was happy with how Aston Villa went about this redevelopment. They do plough a lot of money into the area they exist on.
Same at Anfield. The Sir Kenny stand used to be the Kremlin Road stand. All the houses in Kremlin Road were bought up by the club, demolished and the Centenary stand was built. Now the Sir Kenny Dalglish stand.

Great video. My gran used to live on Constutional Avenue, which led to the main entrance to Blundell Park, in the late 1960s, early 1970s. I used to get thruppence then later sixpence to watch the bikes of Grimsby Town supporters.
I went to Grimsby for an away day (well, evening) last season. Strange walking past a bunch of houses, and then suddenly there were the turnstiles. The supporter coach was asked to go down this side road with parked cars on both sides, and it looked like there was barely room for a regular-sized vehicle. The coach driver thought it was a joke. Also, when we got in, there was no food for us (keep in mind there were only about 200 of us) and, ironically, a sign proudly claiming “Away Fans Matter”.

Went away to Grimsby , for a evening game years ago , enjoyed it ..and yeah the fish and chips, absoloute top . Fish was huge 😅
3:30
Nieve: It seems pretty horrible to build your stadium in a car park.
Americans: It seems pretty horrible to NOT build your stadium in a car park.
Great video, wonderful humour. Nothing wrong with any of these stadiums.
Anyone remember when that band Orphan Boy wrote the song "Black and White" for Grimsby Town... with the bloke dancing his pants off in the vid? "Those lovers sittin' on a bench at Blundell park..." Top tune to be fair.
Huddersfield's stadium is peak 90s design nothing wrong with it.
Great video. Ive watched 4 or 5 of your vids today and thoroughly enjoy your style and dry humour. And some great music too, Rush, Purple, Skynyrd and Blue Oyster Cult all popped up❤
Love your content. Hope you are staying well :)
Your humour is unparalleled. It always makes the videos so much better
As always, great content - and also liked the Riga FC shirt
Such a fun thing to do going to lower leagues teams grounds! All of them are charming, especially when you can see the time on the brick and timber!
Didn't Huddersfield's stadium win a big architectural award back in the 1990's when it was built?
4:57 my uncle actually lives there or near to it anyway, he goes and watches the Latics every so often, I think you may have just offended him lol. Anyway, as someone who is originally from Oldham, cheers for saying something positive about my hometown club! The stadium recently got a new pitch and the Joe Royle stand has been refurbished all thanks to our chairman Frank's investments and from next year it will also see the Roughyeds, our rugby league club, return for the first time in 15 years. Keep the Faith and up the Yeds! Much love :)
Great content as ever Nieve...Love your humour and your natural ability on camera...Keep up the great content and looking forward to your next video...👏🏻⚽️👏🏻⚽️
Thank you so much!
She’s not gonna shag you fella
Really enjoyed this Nieve! Thank you! 👏🏻
Cheers, Brett! 👊
This would be an interesting topic to cover overseas as well. I watched a Serie A game in Fiorentina’s stadium (Stadio Artemio FranchI) and loved the game and the view of the Tuscan hills but the stadium isn’t easy on the eyes.
Apparently it's being overhauled now with a new design. Such a travesty for Florence to have an ugly stadium though.
Huddersfield's new stadium is similar to the Amex, except the area behind each goal are larger than those at the Amex.
And then Talk Sport went for their 568th gambling ad that day
Being from Brazil, those all look pretty Nice, specially from the inside (those pitches look better than Maracanã)
I like how you try soooo hard to keep your Dale biases to one side....I think I heard you mention pooping in Oldham Athletic's letterbox 😂😂
Another great video! Does this mean we'll get a 5 prettiest stadiums video? Might get you to Home Park this way 😊
Great video. My gran used to live on Constutional Avenue, which led to the main entrance to Blundell Park, in the late 1960s, early 1970s. I used to get thruppence then later sixpence to watch the bikes of Grimsby Town supporters.
I used to leave my bike in one of those gardens when I cycled to the match.
im not a fish . had me rolling 🤣🤣
😂😂
I loved the Riga FC t-shirt at about 2:10 - I had a great time working there back in 1995 - a fabulous city !
From a Grimsby fan your comments are spot-on. Even for a home fan it's a dour experience. But at least the owners haven't bankrupted us by paying for a new ground we can't afford!
@@VVellieManI think the experience has improved a lot recently from a Grimsby fans perspective and your spot on about the new owners not splashing cash we don’t have on a new stadium. It’s not the prettiest but I think it’s got character 😂
@@joeutm212Character, yes. But fit for the modern game in the decades to come? No
@@starkers1997 why is it not fit for the modern game?😂
Should off gone to the chippy loads on Grimsby road pips is the best
the oldham athletic part was total chaos😂 great video as always, and yeah pretty bizarre for Huddersfield to be featured in this, as a foreigner i always thought it was cool
😂 it’s whenever my Mum gets involved, it turns to chaos. Thank you Andrea 🙌🏼
As a southerner, this TalkSport list seems to have a northern bias. Huddersfield and Chester should be nowhere near the top of their list. Perhaps they have not been to Luton! As for lowest ground in the counry, Canvey Island FC is actually below sea level.
Omg your channel has blown up. Congrats! Love the channel. Cmon City 🩵🫶🤟🏼🇺🇸
As an American, I don't see ugly I see history and character. At least your football isn't played in baseball stadiums where the seating makes no sense and with a baseball diamond in the middle of the pitch.
History and character doesn't change the aesthetic of a place. Ugly is ugly.
Sit in the upper stand at Blundell Park and you can see boats going past. It's a pretty great view. I really like the ground, but I've never gone there for an away day so maybe that would change my opinion.
Or when the wind comes from the North Sea, it gets biblically cold (which I found out the hard way in 2020)
⚽️🏟️Every stadium in English Football is Beautiful🇬🇧
Have u not seen st andrews
Whatever makes you sleep at night
Oh I’ve spent many a cold Saturday at Blundell Park lol. Loved it!
"You could put yours in the microwave though" 😂
How funny is this lady. She is brilliant. The bit at 3.20 when she stops and looks at the camera had me creased. I can’t believe she has hasn’t gone on to greater things.
I love watching your videos..
Huddersfield's stadium is magnificent. Not a boring off the peg design like so many...
I'm sure that was a Banksy on the bridge at Cleethorpes
Haha! Brilliant
Yes it was a VERY EARLY Banksy.
You're actually randomly funny love it, keep up the content really enjoyed this video!
You have a wonderful sense of humour young lady , im a massive fan of your content , keep em coming 👍
Ah thank you very much Tony, really lovely comment
Huddersfield’s ground is gorgeous! The author must be a supporter of their rivals or something. I hope he reserved a proper amount of chaff for that.
Charming, English, and Beautiful. And the stadiums too!
UTA Arad's stadium in Romania is a mini Huddersfield one (13000 seats) , but for us in Romania it's fine, given that we've started to have five star Uefa stadiums (plural) only since around 2010. Though compared to the other 11 five star stadiums it might be the worst.
got baited by putting villa in the thumbnail 😭
Was ready to kick off 😅
I clicked straight on it.
Got me worried too 😂😂
The choice of music clips is top tier :)
