Barry’s genuinely looks like something out of an upscale experimental diner.
Without tasting any of them, Barry's recipe sounds like the most cheffy one. It would probably be the one I would order of a menu in a fancy restaurant.
It does look like more of a meal than the others.
I’m definitely tempted to try making his. While pancakes are nice, they’re often much too sweet for me
k j I completely agree but Mike's is the one I would most likely try making myself and Jamie's still sounds delicious.
@@Silentgrace11 savory pancakes are an absolute game changer! I found a basic recipie without sugar and you can do so much from there. Using leftovers in so many new, creative ways!
strangely, Barry's does seem most cheffy, but would also be the LAST i would order in a restaurant. I eat pancakes for breakfast or brinner, I love smoked salmon but don't want it anywhere near my pancakes.
Personally, I'd probably opt for Jamie's or Mike's if I was going out to eat, but having seen them, Barry absolutely killed it. I was blown away by how nice it actually looked on the plate. Good job, Baz, genuinely impressed me.
Agreed that Barry's was super impressive!
I was honestly pleasantly surprised... I'm so used to Baz being, well, Baz that actually seeing him best ALL of the other normies shocked the ever-loving beejeezus out of me! 😅

Yknow when i heard ultimate cooking fails, i immediately thought about the cloud eggs. I dont think any fails will ever come close in magnitude

everyone says that when you start "redoing" or "revisiting" or making sequels to things you have run out of ideas... I look at it like the ideas you have already had were so good, they deserve a second go-around. More over, if you can do all of those, you know you made it and deserve a victory lap.

Also Jamie: doesn't whip his egg white.
Jamie forgot that it can't be hot air. So he lost it.
Also over mixed his batter, to make fluffy cakes it needs to be lumpy.
@@Silencedlemon 🤢🤢🤢 lumps in your batter means you haven’t fully incorporated the dry into the wet. If he had left it lumpy, there would be chunks of flour to bite into through the pancake. Yuck.
Your wrong Pheobe, I've worked in diners before. You want to incorporate your flour however little lumps aren't just pockets of flour and do make fluffier pancakes. Trust me, I've made untold amounts of much enjoyed pancakes.
@@Elphaba42 Nah, sometimes lumps are the already mixed batter. I never had chunks of flour in my pancakes even if the batter was a lil bit lumpy. In fact, even some recipes for thicker pancakes tell you that it's fine for it to be slightly lumpy.

I always root for Barry because his train of thoughts is bizarre and maybe silly but nevertheless unique. There is nothing better than seeing people going outside the box. Good job!

Jamie's is the pancake everybody makes at home when they feel fancy lol. Mike's is the seasonal/specialty item on the cafe menu. Barry's is the crazy item you heard about online and went out of your way to order.
Challenge: When COVID is over the normals have to run a small pizzeria with pizzas that reflect themselves (i.e. a pizza named the Jamie will be filled with meat and chorizo) and the two chefs. The chefs will dine anonymously and give a rating to their pizzas.
Edit: I almost forgot. There should be a Tyrone and Janice pizza. Chefs should award the normal on three categories best sauce will be awarded, the sauce boss, the best toppings will be awarded, the topping topper, and the best crust will be awarded the chief tosser award. Thanks to the people who liked my comment. Please do this video sorted. Pretty please.
Edit #2: Make all the proceeds from the pizzeria go to the UK's Hospitality action. To show the importance of restaurant workers in the industry.

I would 100% RUN to this restaurant as fast as I could - already champing at the bit to visit London ASAP.
When Barry explained what his dish was going to be, I immediately thought, "so he's out of the battle"... but after watching jamie burn his pancakes and mike mold the stack and whipped cream with his hands, Baz is definitely the winner 😂

Barry’s skepticism of the pans here is very reflective of how I feel any time I’m cooking in someone else’s kitchen 😂
In the end, Barry was right though. Ben poked fun at him for "blaming the tools" but look at Ben chuckling about hot spots in the pan during Jamie's turn, leading to burnt pancake.
This shows that it never hurts to get your nose a little brown, even when you're quite obvious about it

The way that they’ve all become so much more chefy but also still do things like using salt instead of sugar is just the balance I need to make my heart happy

The donut battle comes to mind for me, particularly Mike's cereal donut. So many ways that could be improved on.
Paella burrito.
The tip about waiting until the butter is finished sizzling has saved our pans from being called junk! Hubby and I thought we had wrecked our pans because eggs were always sticking so bad, but letting the butter finish sizzling before putting in the eggs showed us it was just operator error. Saved us a ton of money!!

I really miss those challenges where all three of them were in the same area and cooked together while messing with each other. It was so entertaining. Just something I thought about watching this

But to be honest I don't see that much if anything really wrong with the sentence, maybe if you look at it super closely it is not perfectly correct grammar but not something that sounds wrong if it would be used in spoken english.

I was surprised with all the talk of fluffy pancakes that no one separated the eggs and whipped the whites. Also, I use buttermilk to add a bold flavor to the batter.

I loved this episode because it has everything. I remember that 2015 battle and have been hooked on your videos for a while. Although Mike is one of my favorites and has the flavors I'd love to try. Barry has to take it here because he tried something different than the last time. The boys did still struggle with time and multitasking. Their dishes would feel more complete if they use time well. Mike with the hot pancakes with melting cream was a mistake, but I'm sure it was fine.
Good work as always to the editors and camera crew. The shots of the food to the tasting and winning reveal are my favorite bits with the music is just perfect.
Can’t wait to see what Barry makes and how different it will be from the original

Gotta say I really appreciate Ben jumping in with the knowledge, facts and science behind certain aspects. I'd really like to see more of this as it's really helpful to understand why we need to do certain things.

On reading what Mike and Jamie made on a menu, I’d be ordering one of those. If what Barry made walked past me in a restaurant I couldn’t NOT order one. That was so incredibly outside of the box and looked amazing!

I found your channel back in 2018 and have gone back and watched every ultimate food battle since. It's great to see some of the older battles return, I'd personally very much like to see a pizza edition and a fast food edition.
