  • Jeremy Lin had his best game since joining the Rockets, scoring a career high-tying 38 points with leading scorer James Harden sidelined by a sprained right ankle. It was just the second time he'd scored more than 20 points since coming to Houston.
    Jeremy Lin had 38 points , 7 assists , 3 rebounds , 2 steals and 2 blocks.
Unfortunately , Spurs still beat the Rockets.

+Peter Phinney name a single point guard who has NOT done that in their career? Jlin actually has one of the lower turnovers/game for point guards

    • @PeterPhinney

Devidutta Biswabharati turnovers per assists is the metric to look at. He averages very few assists like a sg.

Hes been placed as a combo guard ever since leaving the knicks, thats why his assists are lower. Lets see how he does in Brooklyn as a true point guard for an entire season.

Lin isn't overrated and he also isn't trying to prove anything as a Rocket. He's the same guy from Linsanity days. All he wants is to be better at what he does but that doesn't mean he wants to outshine or score more than any of his teammates. He's only doing his job as a PG.

Here in 2021. Jeremy picked up his team's slack in this game, with 38 points (points leader overall, both teams). Just as the sports commentators were saying, he did all that he could do. I'm glad for them for giving Lin that recognition. The fault is with the rest of the Rockets team & maybe the coach. The Spurs were also good. This could have been a blowout by Spurs without Lin's 38 points. Now Jeremy is back in the NBA, just in the minor league, though hopefully that will be temporary, will just have to hold our breath for now. He is leading the way with his minors team, at top 2 standing spots & also long winning streak.

When Lin was handling the ball with the Knicks he was one of the leaders in turnovers also.
I never saw him play at Harvard but I was one who wanted him to remain on the Rockets last season before he got cut.
I like his game when I first saw him play. I'm just not sold on him leading the team right now.
Harden is leading the league in turnovers so with both of them being the primary ball handlers they need to get it together quickly if Houston wants to be an above 500 team

When you compare the Linsanity Lin and the Lin in the video, you find him even quicker, stronger, and more skilled. But you also realize how little he runs pick-n-roll now, and his passing skills are hardly visible. So much I hope he still runs under DA.

    • @J-Hue
      @J-Hue 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Pick and roll was his go to. In NY they kept running it heavy in that 53 win season. I still think Lin was the ideal pg for that system and would've liked to have seen what they could've done if he'd stayed.

Back in New York, Lin was kinda like Westbrook, scoring a lot and having a lot of turnovers in most games. But now that Harden is on the team, he's become more like a Chris Paul type point guard. He can still score a lot, but only when he needs to. True point guard. Hopefully he makes All-Star this year!

  • @glyw

25 mil for 3 years for a young point guard with great potentials, i think that is a very very reasonable compensation.

Of course he has potential to be an All-Star! I don't mean this year, I just mean that he proved himself enough last year, that he can definitely play the game of basketball of a very high level. It's sad though because there are so many great guards out there busting their butts on the court that won't be considered for a second to be an All-Star. Worst part is I don't think Jeremy even cares if he makes All-Star team or not. Too bad fans will vote him in anyway.

I watch every Rockets game and I don't see any problem on how they are using him.
He is missing open jumpers and that's no ones fault but his. The reason why Harden dominates the ball is because no one else can create plays on their own.
Lin started off the season doing great and Harden scored 37 and 45 so everybody wants to blame Harden as if he changed something.
Its not Harden.. I hope he gets it together because I was defending him a few weeks ago and I don't want to eat my words.

I'm a Knicks fan, who has watched Jeremy Lin since he was a junior at Harvard. At Harvard and with the Knicks, Lin was able to dictate the offense. Lin is being used as a spot-up shooter with the Rockets right now, and that has never been a part of his game. Lin's game is built around attacking the rim, and dishing it out if the shot is not there, outside shots he takes are off-the-dribble, which beyond logic some players are just better at (Kobe, Jamal Crawford, Steve Franchise, etc...)

That everyone would have to change their game to fit Lin. Its amazing that everyone has to change their game to him but I hear none of you talking about him adjusting his game.
Have you took a look at what New York is doing this year under Felton and Kidd so yes I stick by what I said about people not knowing about BBall. Just being bias on Lin's part.

no man it's not that simple. Back in Yao Ming's heyday there was no Mingsanity. Yao Ming was arguably the best center in the league. His battles with Shaq are the stuff of legend. There was no questioning his abilities on the court. That's why he still made All-Star when he was injured. He has the popularity and the all-star capability. With Lin though, he has too many doubters. And to be honest, right now he hasn't played well enough for him to be an All-Star. He'll have to step it up a bit.
